Truth

Imagine the stress you’d feel as a rookie WR knowing that your all world future HOF QB is going to throw you the ball but also knowing that if you don’t catch it, then your HOF QB will likely ignore you for the rest of the game. Imagine what it’s like to be in the locker room with that guy every day.

That’s probably not the best way to help your rookie WR develop.

Compare that with catching passes for Love. You know that he’ll keep throwing to you because he understands that as a rookie, you’re going to make mistakes. You also know that your QB is still growing into his position and he’s going to make mistakes too….so you keep playing and you hopefully grow together as a team. everybody has each other’s back.

That’s the QB that guys want to play for.

Something I had forgotten about. This is why Love is fun to watch. He’s not perfect, but he goes thru his progressions and if you’re open he throws to you. It’s really that simple.

It’s odd that this feels like a revelation but here we are.

Anyone else noticing that Love isn’t holding the ball forever or playing sandlot and hero ball football all the time?  It’s like I’m watching football like it’s supposed to be played.

He wasn't sending that message to Garrett Wilson, that's for sure. And the fact that Cobb pre-emptively warned the wr room of the same treatment only makes Rodgers look worse in that regard. It's one thing to hold people to a high standard. It's a very different thing to float a threat over their head for them to think about 24/7. For a guy who loves positive manifestation, it's hard to square the idea that such a tactic could somehow be productive for teammates and the locker room in general. That alone is a good reason to feel relieved that he's gone.
