Rodgers Friday presser:

@ByRyanWood: Rodgers on calf last Sunday: "It was painful the entire game. ... Nothing loosened up. It was just pain management."

@ByRyanWood: Rodgers on Seahawks doubting calf injury: "I think between them and @AdamSchefter, I don't know if I need to say anything about my calf."

@WesHod: AR on team being loose: We were confident the first week. We're a loose and confident group this week. Excited about opportunity.

@RobDemovsky: Rodgers on wearing @buttecollege and Pleasant Valley HS gear: "You have to remember where you came from to keep some of that same humility."

@ByRyanWood: Rodgers says it's Julius Peppers' turn to give pregame speech. Good thing for #Packers. They're still talking about his last one vs. Bears.

That will make for one hell of a twist and probably more of a hit for the Packers considering Rodgers mobility is limited compared to Wilson's.  I personally think the Packers running game has more than enough to grind these ****ers down but another limitation in the passing game is going to be tough.

I think it might be a good thing being windy.  In the first game, I remember Rodgers trying to go downfield quite a lot.  We know how that turned out.  With it being windy, maybe they will realize that they will just have to dink and dunk which the so called experts say is one way to beat Seattle.

Found on the internet: One of the unsung heroes for the Packer defense in the second half of the season, has been Sam Barrington. He has been a huge addition, from a tackling stand point. He needs to have a big game for us to keep their running game in check. We are so lucky (compared to last few years) to be mostly healthy going into the championship game. Can't help think about how close last years loss to S.F. was considering half our starting defense was missing....

On the flip side the wind will hopefully make Wilson's pathetic floaters easier to knock down/intercept.

Not to beat a dead horse but I watched week 1 again, we beat ourselves

1. Penalties in key downs

2. Sherrod

3. b jones

4. Harvin ,mebane, and miller are gone

5. No te for us and no #3 wr

so I expect Seattle to be better with time also but I think the bigger improvement is with the packers and without all those tools we lost 31-17 --we can do this folks

Wind is the only real weather condition that can hamper a passing game.

Bad news: if we were depending on AR's arm, especially because of his lack of mobility, it lessens his potential impact even more.

Good news: Wilson is more mobile but now our D can hedge toward him NOT throwing on the run so it becomes more of a stop-the-run issue.  Also, SEA is better on D vs. pass than vs. run so our game planning away from a pass-heavy offense isn't a bad thing anyway with the wind.

Not so good news:  if this boils down to a "running game and defense" battle, SEA has the edge.

One could argue that the wind minimizes the negative effects of the calf injury.  When Rodgers breaks the pocket and extends plays, he is typically looking to throw it downfield.  If the wind is going to make throwing it downfield more difficult, the inability of Rodgers to put himself in position to make downfield throws is less of a concern (because we would have wanted to avoid it anyway).  Now, his inability to scramble for first downs...that is another story.

Rodgers throws darts that cut through wind in the short-to-intermediate passing game.  He'll be fine.

This probably impacts Wilson's passing game the most.  While he can obviously run the ball effectively, when it comes to passing, many of his long balls have significant air under them.  I've read some posts on Seahawk message boards this week in which they specifically expressed concern over Wilson's "hanging deep balls." (insert Freudian slip joke here)  But anyone that has watched Seattle games knows what those fans are talking about.

I expect us to get an interception off one of Wilson's deep passes this Sunday.

I looked at that game again, it was very close until Sherrod had to play. Seattle ran all over the guy.
