If the Hags D is so aggressive and fast I say do what Henry said and beef up and run right at them. This is a way different OL than we had to put out there in September and they are playing pretty darn well as a unit.  I also would love to see a screen pass once in awhile to keep the pass rush honest and get Cobb or a RB out in space.

On defense the one thing I think we have going for us is that the Hags don't have a Calvin Johnson or Dez Bryant type of receiver so I have confidence we can cover what they do have one on one.

First Rodgers. Now Charlie Sheen. Man, GB is really ghey.

Charlie Sheen was so pumped about the Green Bay Packers beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday -- he raged with fans at a local bar after the game ... and kissed a dude on the mouth to celebrate.

We're told Sheen -- who flew in especially for the playoff game -- hit up a place called Symba's Pub and Grub in Green Bay and bought shots and drinks for a bunch of Cheeseheads who were still fired up about the victory.

Then, at the end of the night, things got kissy in the bar -- and a male Packers fan decided to seal the victory with a liplock from Sheen.

Hey, if the players can pat each other on the ass ...

I'm trying to wrap my head around chancellors jump over the line for the FG try.

All the offensive guy needs to do is be in a 2 point stance and knock him on his butt when he jumps.

there is no one else in front to block so whats to stop them from doing this.

You are not allowed to have a player line up over the center on a FG attempt. But it's ok for a guy to jump over the C on a FG attempt the instant the ball is snapped. I don't follow the logic on this.

He should have celebrated with Screech.

See that gap in front of the C? Can't have anyone there. Unless it's actually ok to have someone there as long as they jump over the C. I assume Pete cleared this with the NFL based on nothing being called.

Pretty athletic stuff from Chancellor though.

Not allowing a defender to line up over center is purely for safety.  Long snapping takes a lot of focus and they didn't want to put this "defenseless" snapper at risk to get blown up at the snap.  Plus, Brett Goode is 255 lbs (pretty normal for a long snapper).  They're not exactly built to take on 300+ lb DTs.

Jumping over the snapper does not put a player at risk unless the defender kicks someone or jumps early.... both of which would be penalties.  Kam was praised but it's a risk.  That's why you don't wait to snap it with 1 second left on the play clock.  Makes it too easy to time the jump.

From the internet

"With eight points on Sunday, K Mason Crosby brought his career total to 1,122, which is the most points scored in the regular season and postseason combined in franchise history (K Ryan Longwell, 1,119).

- Crosby connected on both of his field-goal attempts, further extending his franchise-record streak to 11 consecutive field goals made in the playoffs.

MM Monday presser (from JSO):

Green Bay -  The following is a summary of coach Mike McCarthy's Monday press conference:

  • (On Rodgers) Made it through the game very well. I think he feels better this week than he does at this time last week.
  • (Better than day after Detroit game) I think so. I think Aaron can answer that better.
  • (On any exams) He'll go through treatments throughout the week. Everybody had mandatory treatments today. He'll probably do the same tomorrow.
  • (On Seattle experience) Learned a lot of different things. Video will show you some of the same matchups as last time. Young people having played there last time.
  • (On value in playing there) There's value in the experience. That's the way we go about it. I think every time we practice there's growth.
  • (On noise last time) I think in most areas I think they handled it very well. We had some boundary communication in the first half. We burned three timeouts in that game.
  • (On Harvin being gone) Percy's a dynamic player. Seen a lot of him. We're not focusing on that. We're focused on the video. Going to be a great matchup. I think Russell is playing outstanding.
  • (On defense) Their defense is playing very well. Played at a high level long time. See their instinct and the talented players they have. Can see it in their matches and drops and covers.
  • (On Adams) Davante took advantage of his opportunities. There's other factors involved in that. We don't huddle up and line up guys in certain places. Not as clean as it was. I liked the way he played against Dallas and I like the way he's practicing.
  • (On not throwing at Sherman) Good things we did in that game. Pivotal plays you wish you did better. As far as not throwing Sherman, we have great respect for their whole defense. But we're a no-huddle offense. My thought was line up and that Sherman would line up over on that side. He didn't. It was just the way it worked out. Since then we're a lot different. You look at those things. They make huge plays. They made huge plays in the Carolina game.
  • (On Richard Rodgers) Was watching the tape and you watch Week 1 and against Cowboys it's a different player. We've really improved. We've scored some points, they're a great defense. We like the challenge. He's been the same guy every day.
  • (On Peppers' snaps down) Probably made the biggest play in the game on the fumble. He's been a great addition to our team both in the locker room and on the field.
  • (On Seattle's offense) Feel better equiped to play each and every week. They're a very good offense. Their offensive line is very well coached. This is a big challenge for us.
  • (On weekly schedule) Our schedule will be exactly the same Monday to Thursday. We're going to make some adjustments and then we'll fly to Seattle Friday and then we'll have a workout in a facility Saturday. We've been planning for things like this, just the sports science we've been involved in, going to Tampa early, these are things just to improve.
  • (On game time) I thought we'd be playing later. This is more about the flight. Part of it is you learn from past experiences. We were out there the first game of the year. There was a lot of time sitting around. We evaluate every schedule.

I imagine they simulate the first half before the game, maybe even have AJ get some hits on Aaron so that the calf is ready/warmed up for the first half against the hawks like it was in the second half against the cows.

4. What are the injury concerns other than Rodgers? The Seahawks lost wide receiver Paul Richardson because of an ACL tear. Center Max Unger re-injured his ankle, and his status is uncertain. Unger is an important part of the Seahawks' offensive line. According to ESPN Stats & Information data, Marshawn Lynch averaged 5.1 yards per carry (2.8 before contact) when Unger was on the field and 4.4 yards (1.7 before contact) when he Unger was out. Patrick Lewis would start if Unger can't play. The Seahawks have used four different starting centers this season.

Seahawks backup safety Jeron Johnson probably won't be available because of a dislocated elbow. Seahawks starting cornerback Byron Maxwell missed the Carolina game because of a breathing problem after suffering an illness. He is expected to be back. The Packers don't have any significant injuries other than Rodgers.

Found on the internet: If you want to know where the Packers have an advantage, it's with their pass rush against the Hawks offensive line. Green Bay had 41 sacks on the season which is tied for 9th best in the NFL. The Hawks gave up 42 sacks which is 5th worst in the NFL.

If Unger can't go, this is one area where Green Bay has a clear advantage.

Line stunts and middle blitzes.

Seahawks cornerback Byron Maxwell was an unexpected non-factor in Seattle’s 31-17 win over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, but head coach Pete Carroll said he’s hopeful to have Maxwell back for next Sunday’s NFC championship game.

Carroll said he was surprised by the fourth-year player’s inability to play on Saturday with what the team called “shortness of breath” at the time.

“He was real sick. He’s had a history of some chest stuff. He’s had pneumonia before and all that,” Carroll said on 710 ESPN Seattle radio’s “Brock and Salk” show Monday. “So he was uncomfortable and he couldn’t catch his breath in normal fashion, so he could play a play, but he didn’t know if he could play a sequence.

“We were a little bit surprised. We thought that he would be able to do that because he’d practiced well on Friday, but it just didn’t work out. So hopefully we’ll get him back next week.”

Maxwell missed the team’s practice last Tuesday due to illness, but was a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday. On Saturday, he played on just four special-teams snaps. In his place, second-year pro Tharold Simon started at cornerback opposite Richard Sherman and struggled, giving up 10 receptions on 10 targets for 100 yards and two touchdowns, according to Pro Football Focus.

Carroll also acknowledged what’s been reported as a season-ending knee injury for rookie wide receiver Paul Richardson, calling the injury a “heartbreaker.”

“He’s had such a great rookie season for us — contributed in such a big way, such a great kid,” Carroll said. “I mean, (if) anybody gets hurt, your heart goes out to them, but this is guy that did a great job for his team. He did a great job. Really showed up and came through in a big way.”

Richardson suffered the same injury in college with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2012, and will likely miss the start of the 2015 regular season while rehabbing.

“He’s going to have a long haul to get right now,” Carroll said. “He’s been through it before, so that always helps, but still it’s a heartbreaker.”

There was some good news on the injury front, as the Seahawks seemingly dodged a bullet with a what looked like a potentially serious injury to center Max Unger late in Saturday’s win.

Unger was hurt with just over two minutes left in the game, his first since missing six with ankle and knee injuries he suffered in Week 11 against Kansas City.

The former All-Pro thought he might have suffered a similar ankle injury against the Panthers, he but was able to walk after the game and felt good on Sunday, according to Carroll.

“He thought it happened again, but it didn’t,” Carroll said Monday. “So he was very fortunate, but he could feel that stress go right to the spot that it hurt before. He actually felt pretty good the next day and looks to be OK.”

Seattle hasn’t played any team of significance in the past several weeks; especially any good offenses.  One of the last good offenses they faced, Dallas, they lost to.  That was in Seattle as well.

Green Bay’s corners can and probably will shut down Seattle’s receivers this time around.  That will leave them free to put 8-9 in the box and a spy on Wilson.

If Rodgers and Lacy play like they did on Sunday, Green Bay likely wins this one.

#31 is my favorite non Green Bay Packers player. just quiet and plays big. Great, great football player. Too bad he wears the wrong colors and I cannot ever root for his team to do well....

Jordy may be the player most impacted by lack of reps with AR12 - the timing seems to be a tick off.  That said, Jordy had 5 games during the regular season where he had less than 85 yards and 0 TDs.  The 5 subsequent games he combined for 36 grabs for 635 yards and 7 TDs (average 7-127-1)...and this includes the Revis Patriots game where he was 2-53-1.

Jordy was 2-22-0 vs. Dallas.

I'll be rooting my ass off, maybe from the hospital as my 1rst born is scheduled for Saturday, but for the first time in a long time with 12 under center, I don't expect a W.

Congratulations man. That's awesome.

Hank's post is spot on.

Seattle wants teams to try and spread them out and toss it around. The Seahawks have tremendous speed and are the best tackling team in the NFL. They want the Packers to think Rodgers can line up in empty sets and pick them apart. Not gonna happen. But when you look at their losses vs. Dallas and KC, what did those teams do? Beef up and run it down their throat. By doing that you take their speed and tackling ability out of the game; relying on power running concepts and solid blocking.

I think this will be one of the all-time great NFC Championship games. Nobody will give the Packers much of a chance and in all honesty I'd be extremely surprised if they pulled it off, but the Packers aren't the kind of team that just rolls over in these types of games, doesn't matter who their playing.

On defense, it's really simple: Stop the run. If you stop the run, Wilson is nothing.

On offense, the onus will by on the offensive line. Keep Rodgers clean and open up holes for Lacy.

i love that they just beat Carolina, in my opinion the weakest of the 8 teams playing this weekend. Will help their overconfidence. They haven't faced a QB as good as an admittedly injured Rodgers since Romo beat them....

Feeling better about this game every hour... Clincher will be when Mr. 8-0 in the playoffs Boris picks the Pack.... IF he does.

Carolina kept it close because they pursued the ball and tackled well on D.   The Packers must be sound in their technique and they cannot miss tackles.  That killed them in the first game.

I also agree that GB should not try to get cute and let them establish the tempo and attitude on offense by RTFB.   Seattle wants you to throw and while they have speed they on D they aren't as big up front on the DL and you need to make them stop you.

Asked how he would attack the Seahawks, Holmgren said that he would throw on first down and run on second because Carroll tends to have his big linemen in the game on first down and replace them with his pass rushers on second down.

"They're going to bring their 'quicks' in on second down," Holmgren said. "They substitute a lot on second down. When they go to their smalls, you run and try to get in third and short. Then you have a chance.

"That's what San Diego did (in a 30-21 Seahawks loss)."

The big difference for the Packers from Week 1 to now is the diversification of the offense. Besides relying more on running back Eddie Lacy, McCarthy has incorporated Quarless, rookie tight end Richard Rodgers and rookie receiver Davante Adams into the offense.

They are 7-0 against Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Peyton. Their defense shows up regardless of what offense or what QB they face

Points will be hard to come by for the Pack. The defense has to keep Seattle to 20 or less for GB to have a shot.
