I don't get it.

Value. Dix and Pryor could well be gone and safety really drops off after that. ILB value is really not there in Round 1 either, unless they really like Van Noy or possibly Mosely dropping there.

Herschel,

Cool and that is the only valid argument I can think of.  That being best player available at the time the Packers pick may be >> S or ILB or any other defensive player that may be considered a significant help.

If TT hasn't signed a FA S or ILB by draft day and there is no D player rated high enough to take in RD1, I see him dealing back before I see him taking a TE.  Not my philosophy, just guessing based on his draft history.

All the time....every time....every single pick. Football players that can contribute, right away if possible but at some point in the next 2-3 years.

Tough to find an Eddie Lacy & Randall Cobb late in the 2nd but obviously it can be done

I am highly skeptical.

And the wild free-agent spend spree is underway! RT : sign TE Raymond Webber, 2nd-year player from Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

Four more and Ian Rapoport will be right!

The Packers have currently have 20 free agents. Lets say they resign 8 of their own guys. that leaves 12 roster spots open.  Even if 7 of the 2014 draft choices make the final 53 that still leaves 5 open spots. Yep, I'll bet the Packers sign 5 free agents too.  I must be a genius like Rappaport.

I like the first four players but round 2 is probably high for Borland. His stock will drop a little after the combine measurements come in. I also think Desir goes higher than Round 4.

No, it was Zach Sudfeld I think out of Nevada.  I know this because in the keeper fantasy league I am in, the draft fouled up.  It showed like the 5th person drafting and then I am told I am on the clock.  I had no time to determine who was picked, almost timed out, needed a TE, and so took him.

Both I and the Patriots unloaded him.

horrible but that isn't the point. He was a turd long before he was drafted. But Holmy made the final call and his history as a GM is worse than Shermans.

ummmmm... Graham was drafted in the 1st round in 2002 by the Pats, Sudfeld was an undrafted FA.

Oh and I'm talking about the NFL draft, not your Viqueenesque fantasy football draft. BUT if you have any openings in that fantasy league I would love to play if it's a money league, papa needs a new car.

Yeah, I know, Shoeless.

It was my way of explaining how it is I was aware of who the Patriots drafted with their #1 pick.  I knew because I drafted the same guy.

Like I said, the draft room screwed me up.  With my second pick, I took Glennon.  That was like the 30th pick in a 16 team league.  The year before I took Josh Gordon.  I am doing OK.

In ~10 total seasons of playing FF, I have 3 championships.

Holy Sh$t!!!

Damn, did I crap all over that selection.

Thanks for the correction.  I don't know how the heck I thought he was their #1 pick.

sheesh

Oh, come on. I was enjoying this.

The Patriots also drafted Benjamin Watson in the first round a couple years after the Graham pick. Seems Belichick was trying to assemble his offense around TEs back before he hit on Gronk and Hernandez, with not a lot of success, obviously.
