This is an optimist's thread, right?  OK...here goes:

The team pulls its head out of its arse, goes 6-0 the rest of the way.

  10-6 Record.

The Pack then WINS the Division via a 5-1 Division record over the Vikings and 2-0 Head-to-Head over the Lions.

And no, I'm not senile.  I remember the 1969 -1991 Seasons very well.   As bad as some of those seasons were, I always held out hope until they were absolutely positively mathematically eliminated.

We're not there yet, boys.

I guess one positive thing is that they can't keep giving up those amounts of points forever can they?  errr well maybe they can.

I am with Hershel this team positively sucks.  And the defense beyond sucks most points in a 4 game stretch since what 1958 or whatever it is?  I don't care what you are doing on offense you CANNOT win football games giving up points like that.  For fans like me I remember only too well the defense (or complete lack there of) they played in the 80's and this even is worse than that.

I was listening to ESPN radio this morning and it felt like it was 1985 again honestly since they talked about the Packers like they are a punch line.  I remember the years from 1973 to 1991 (too young to remember anything prior to that) and it kind of has that feeling like it did back then.

Agree that things don't look good.  Times indeed seem bleak at this point.   Maybe this is our time to suck.  Let's hope it doesn't last too long and the team can rebound from it.  We shall see.

We shall also see what kind of fans the Green Bay Packers have behind them during this most unusual period of suckitude that we haven't seen for a long time.

Go Pack Go.

The NFC North is on sale for free at McDonald's for participating stadiums.

If you pull up The Lions, Packers, and Vikings schedule side-by-side-side you get the following:

LionsPackersVikings
Vikings (W) because Lions win their Superbowlat Eagles (W)at Lions (L)
at Saints (L)Texans (W)Dallas (L)
Chicago (W)Seahawks (W)at Jaguars (W)
at Giants (L)at Bears (W)Colts (W)
at Dallas (L)Vikings (W)at Packers (L)
Green Bay (L)at Lions (W)Bears (L) because the Vikings suck
8-810-6, yea, that's six in a row, big whoop wanna fight about it?9-7

The Packers have lost 4 straight while giving up 4,000 points and 8,000,000 passing yards in those games.  Kidding aside, those games were against the Falcons, Colts, Titans, and Redskins.  Those 4 teams are ranked 2, 12, 8, and 3 in Net Passing Yards this season.  The Packers secondary is on hospice care.

Going forward, the Packers match up against the 26th, 32nd, 7th, 20th, 25th, and 16th ranked Net Passing Yards teams.  In other words, winning out is a realistic possibility.  It happened in 2010, it can happen again.  If they win at Philly and home against the Texans, we'll see a complete momentum shift going into the Seahawks.  A free win against the Bears gives even more momentum going into the Vikings at home on national Don't Shoot Your Eye Out day.

The Lions will be out of it.  The Vikings offensive line is on hospice care across the hall from the Packers secondary.  If I were MM, I would be getting in line today for when McDonald's opens Week 17 morning so he's first in line to grab the free title (toy not included).

"The Green Bay Packers have the longest waiting list, with more than 100,000 names. The team's website says the wait is 30 years."

My Aunt put me on the list in 1985 at age 13.  At that time it was just under 30,000.  I am now 44 and sitting at 142.  They think I will get my tickets next year.  100,000 in 30 years doesn't seem right.

Depends on the package.  Green Package is not 30 years, it's more like infinite (now).

When the Packers do not add new seats, only about 20-35 people come off the list every year.

Source: Waiting list for 41 years before getting tickets in 2012, despite all of the renovations and seat additions since 1971.

I'd say.  We're already having problems with opposing team's fans populating Lambeau.  If they don't continue to put a competitive product on the field I'm guessing many more of the spoiled ass ticket holders will be selling to the highest bidder.  Lambeau could become another one of those stadiums the other team considers a "home game" when they play there.

Gold package games this year proved it was the other teams fans.

saw it coming but thanks H5, hadn't seen that.  Farley, always good.

got a surge of "**** seattle" this morning running thru the blood...

if they think they're coming in Lambeau Dec 11th and getting anything besides their asses handed to 'em on a fine silver platter...

we still owe those guys plenty of payback and a dose is coming again at Lambeau.  depleted defense, whatever, this is long personal.  gonna **** them up.

Joe Whitt;

"β€œWell, close doesn’t matter,” Whitt said. β€œWe need to get it done. We don’t need anything to be close. We need to make the play. We need to not have a penalty when we’re in a critical situation. We need to make sure on a third-down stop we can get it stopped. If the ball touches our hands, we need to get an interception. If we sack the quarterback and he has one hand on the ball, it needs to be a sack fumble. We all need to make pivotal plays in important situations. I’m not just talking about my room, I’m talking about the whole team. That’s what we have to do. I’m not looking for close. Close is going to get you at home. We need to win.”
