LOL, oh don't worry. The Packers will be picking far higher than number 13 in the 1st round by the time this sh!t show is over.
This is an optimist's thread, right? OK...here goes:
The team pulls its head out of its arse, goes 6-0 the rest of the way.
10-6 Record.
The Pack then WINS the Division via a 5-1 Division record over the Vikings and 2-0 Head-to-Head over the Lions.
And no, I'm not senile. I remember the 1969 -1991 Seasons very well. As bad as some of those seasons were, I always held out hope until they were absolutely positively mathematically eliminated.
We're not there yet, boys.
FLPACKER posted:Too Early?
Never too early. My Monday morning routine has gone from checking the potential playoff seedings to looking at mock drafts. This one has Fournette faling to the Pack at 11, which coupled with a Dom firing would make this all worth while.
Fournette? hmmm....too injury prone already....he'll fit right in with the Pack!
Aaron Rodgers over 4-game losing streak:
β Mike Hopfinger (@MikeTSJ101) November 21, 2016
111/173
1,270 yards
12 TDs
102.0 passer rating
Defense has allowed 153 points. 153. #Packers
6-10
I'm positive this team sucks.
Er, wait, let me try that again.
This team positively sucks.
This is a 7-9 team. I expect they'll give us some false hope in the coming weeks, and then crash and burn horribly to end the season.
Optimist thread?

I guess one positive thing is that they can't keep giving up those amounts of points forever can they? errr well maybe they can.
I am with Hershel this team positively sucks. And the defense beyond sucks most points in a 4 game stretch since what 1958 or whatever it is? I don't care what you are doing on offense you CANNOT win football games giving up points like that. For fans like me I remember only too well the defense (or complete lack there of) they played in the 80's and this even is worse than that.
I was listening to ESPN radio this morning and it felt like it was 1985 again honestly since they talked about the Packers like they are a punch line. I remember the years from 1973 to 1991 (too young to remember anything prior to that) and it kind of has that feeling like it did back then.
Agree that things don't look good. Times indeed seem bleak at this point. Maybe this is our time to suck. Let's hope it doesn't last too long and the team can rebound from it. We shall see.
We shall also see what kind of fans the Green Bay Packers have behind them during this most unusual period of suckitude that we haven't seen for a long time.
Go Pack Go.
"We shall also see what kind of fans the Green Bay Packers have behind them during this most unusual period of suckitude that we haven't seen for a long time".
This
I'm curious how the team responds.
The Green Bay Packers have the longest waiting list, with more than 100,000 names. The team's website says the wait is 30 years.
If the fans see some positive moves we'll be chill like always and wait.

My Aunt put me on the list in 1985 at age 13. At that time it was just under 30,000. I am now 44 and sitting at 142. They think I will get my tickets next year. 100,000 in 30 years doesn't seem right.
Might be all the lists (green, gold, club) added together. I got mine (thanks Tooner) in 2003 via the single tix angle.
Put my kids on in 2003, was about 55k then, in the upper 40's now.
The NFC North is on sale for free at McDonald's for participating stadiums.
If you pull up The Lions, Packers, and Vikings schedule side-by-side-side you get the following:
Lions | Packers | Vikings |
Vikings (W) because Lions win their Superbowl | at Eagles (W) | at Lions (L) |
at Saints (L) | Texans (W) | Dallas (L) |
Chicago (W) | Seahawks (W) | at Jaguars (W) |
at Giants (L) | at Bears (W) | Colts (W) |
at Dallas (L) | Vikings (W) | at Packers (L) |
Green Bay (L) | at Lions (W) | Bears (L) because the Vikings suck |
8-8 | 10-6, yea, that's six in a row, big whoop wanna fight about it? | 9-7 |
The Packers have lost 4 straight while giving up 4,000 points and 8,000,000 passing yards in those games. Kidding aside, those games were against the Falcons, Colts, Titans, and Redskins. Those 4 teams are ranked 2, 12, 8, and 3 in Net Passing Yards this season. The Packers secondary is on hospice care.
Going forward, the Packers match up against the 26th, 32nd, 7th, 20th, 25th, and 16th ranked Net Passing Yards teams. In other words, winning out is a realistic possibility. It happened in 2010, it can happen again. If they win at Philly and home against the Texans, we'll see a complete momentum shift going into the Seahawks. A free win against the Bears gives even more momentum going into the Vikings at home on national Don't Shoot Your Eye Out day.
The Lions will be out of it. The Vikings offensive line is on hospice care across the hall from the Packers secondary. If I were MM, I would be getting in line today for when McDonald's opens Week 17 morning so he's first in line to grab the free title (toy not included).

Depends on the package. Green Package is not 30 years, it's more like infinite (now).
When the Packers do not add new seats, only about 20-35 people come off the list every year.
Source: Waiting list for 41 years before getting tickets in 2012, despite all of the renovations and seat additions since 1971.

I'd say. We're already having problems with opposing team's fans populating Lambeau. If they don't continue to put a competitive product on the field I'm guessing many more of the spoiled ass ticket holders will be selling to the highest bidder. Lambeau could become another one of those stadiums the other team considers a "home game" when they play there.

Packer fans without season tickets could be the highest bidders....Just sayin
Oh you mean like all the Giants fans and Cowboys fans at the those home games?
I've been sitting in the same section for almost 15 years now. I don't think there are even 10 people that I regularly recognize around me. There are more than enough seats to be had at Lambeau on any given Sunday, regardless of the team's record.

Gold package games this year proved it was the other teams fans.
saw it coming but thanks H5, hadn't seen that. Farley, always good.
got a surge of "**** seattle" this morning running thru the blood...
Joe Whitt;
"βWell, close doesnβt matter,β Whitt said. βWe need to get it done. We donβt need anything to be close. We need to make the play. We need to not have a penalty when weβre in a critical situation. We need to make sure on a third-down stop we can get it stopped. If the ball touches our hands, we need to get an interception. If we sack the quarterback and he has one hand on the ball, it needs to be a sack fumble. We all need to make pivotal plays in important situations. Iβm not just talking about my room, Iβm talking about the whole team. Thatβs what we have to do. Iβm not looking for close. Close is going to get you at home. We need to win.β
For as bad as the secondary has been, still love Joe Whitt. He may have to suit up though.
A lot to expect from a team that can't seem so walk and chew gum at the same time.
"You did it buddy"!
Encouragement is the key. Maybe MM should hire Raffi or Dora the Explorer as DC.
First we need to stop the run,
then we need to cover the middle,
then we need to sack the quarterback!
C'mon Boots, vamanos!
You left out:
line up correctly, communicate, don't jump until the ball is snapped, keep your yap shut after you manage to stop someone, don't fall down, catch the ball, block, keep your hands out of the other guy's facemask, throw the ball at your guy's numbers not his feet & snap the ball before the clock runs out.
Lofty goals.
With recent defensive draft picks like Datone Jones, Khyri Thornton, Carl Bradford, Dimitri Goodson, Lawrence Guy, Ricky Elmore, Jerel Worthy, Terrell Manning, Jerron McMillian, Josh Boyd, Nate Palmer , etc....even if allowed to "jump" before the ball is snapped it wouldn't matter. #retireted
**** it aholes. I'm on board. I have a man crush on Rodgers and that teddy bear known as McCarthy. It's the Holidays and this is when the team usually reverses course any way. Have faith Packer fans. I can't be more serious.
Right on Tavis me too!
