Just saw this tweet from Rob Demovsky too. Same thing.

I'm glad Rodgers handled this appropriately & correctly. Same thing I've been saying. Christ, the guy won a Super Bowl. It's ****ing hard to do that. HARD. No reason to trample on MM.

It’s almost like there was no story and this was all manufactured drama. Other Packer beat writers still defending Dunne, saying this was real journalism. The degree of laziness seems about right for Bleacher Report.

This guy is an out of control egomaniac!

Also he definitely wasn’t 100% the entire year which is much more believable than he tanked to get MM fired because he’s gone full Farve. Some people just WANT the answer to be something dramatic. This is the reason for the missed throws, throwaways, and lack of running.

and this is a tad scary...... “It’s disappointing how it ended, getting that concussion was disappointing and also a little scary, honestly. I couldn’t see. I lost vision,” Rodgers said”.       Lost vision??  Yikes, and I know concussions are bad, but didn’t realize he had one then.

I broke my tibia plateau 2 years ago. Cracked it and didn't need surgery.

I have NO FU**ING idea how he even walked. I could not, as well as 99.9 percent of patients with this, even put weight on it for 6-8 weeks. I have no clue how in the hell he played football with it.

Explains a lot of why Rodgers looked 'off'.

From here on out, should anything related to Dunne's article be posted in the "Manufactured Content" thread?

I guess to me it depends on what is an indivudual's definition of "real jounalism" journalism can be fiction as well.

I had never heard of a tibial fracture but I guess recovery isn't a couple of weeks thing it can take several months.  The should be protected from weight until the fracture has healed. Most commonly patients will be allowed to move the knee joint, but not put weight on the leg for about three months.

That right there to me would be crazy painful and I cannot imagine playing football much less NFL football with that injury.  That is a classic case to me of we don't know what is going on behind the scenes and this was why he was off.

Hmmm...imaging a world where you can keep your QB from getting skull-f*cked every 7th snap because you have a competent OL...

My already passionate desire to highly prioritize offensive line from a personnel standpoint just went up a couple more notches.

Further evidence that AR has become injury prone. They need to draft his potential replacement now.

Personally, I'm with you but the Guru has spoken.

I had the same thing. Lotsa pain! It explains a lot about Rodgers level of play. I cannot imagine trying to play with that kind of injury. I did not need surgery but I had to wear a brace from mid thigh to my ankle and wasn't allowed to put weight on it for weeks. Rodgers puts on a uniform and plays football. What a wimp I am.

I just.  What he did in the second half vs. CHI, immediately after the injury.  They had to shoot him up with something.  Anybody remember the year Madden had a one legged Jennings running fly patterns for touchdowns?  AR may have topped that in WK01.

What a tool. What did he think was going to happen when he went on record for the 50th time being critical of Rodgers. To Finley's credit I see him on twitter all the time still supporting the Packers, he's a fan, which is why it's so puzzling he says the same stupid shit every time a report asks him a question.

I didn't read the article, but were the Finley comments verified as recent/current? Or, did the writer just regurgitate stories on the heels of the McCarthy article for the easy clicks?

I think recent:

Because Finley, Rodgers' No. 1 tight end for four-and-a-half years, remembers the entitlement his QB had even as a first-year starter "when he was broke as ****."

"You gave a man $200 million," Finley says. "He's the GM. He's the organization. He's the quarterback. And he's the head coach. He has a sense of entitlement already, and then you give him $200 million? You make him one of the highest-paid in history. It comes with the territory, man. I think Rodgers, man to man, needs to take a little more blame."

...

He is not accountable. "He's not a natural-born leader," Finley says.

...

"A-Rod wants his. He wants to eat. He cares about his yards, his completions. He's going to have a hard time. ... That's like an addict. You tell an addict to change his ways when he's been stuck in his ways so long. I think it's going to be very tough. I thought he'd be able to grow out of it, but, shit, you give a guy more money, there's more attitude, more diva-ness..."

...

"He already had a sense of entitlement, then you give him $200 million," Finley repeats. "Then you give him a young head coach. I think in Aaron Rodgers' heart, that's what he always wanted. He wanted to take control."

So Finley's opinion of what happened to AR after getting the big contract, and not 1st hand experience. Got it...

That's no more or less accurate than anyone, absolutely anyone, not connected to Rodgers now commenting on what AR was like after getting a new deal.

Money and power can corrupt, some. Never got the impression AR was that kind of person, but we really don't know. And it really doesnt matter if they win.

Should it matter? I don't know. Maybe it should. As a fan, it's also my money they are paying all players indirectly with merchandise sales, tv contracts because I watch, etc. We have invested $200M in Rodgers and many, many more millions in other players in all sports; what kind of person do we want to represent us? I know they have personal standards in their contracts, but we've all seen how much good that does.

I'm also feeling like "it doesn't matter as long as __________ " has gotten us as a nation into a lot of trouble, as in, "Who cares if the banks are once again making risky loans? It doesn't matter as long as I make my money now." And we know how that turned out in 2008.

I know that pro athletes aren't all choirboys, but shouldn't we expect a little more out of these guys for that money? Maybe meeting with fans more often or doing more public service for their town/city, etc.

So that's your new bullshit schtick.  Not that you needed a reason to be a pissed sopped sponge but now you've found your new reason to whine about Rodgers.

Got any hot takes on why Mayo and I Am Gute suck yet?

Somebody is grumpy.  I definitely don't disagree with your second paragraph but overall these guys aren't Japanese idols.  I'd rather a person just be who they are rather than put on more of a dog and pony show that already exists.
