Hutson
[Not before but] James Jones in weeks 1-3 of the 2015 season.
It was Don Hutson in 1943.
ammo shot first, AZPB was definitive.
Who caught all 3 of Rodger's TD passes in Packers 21-13 NFC N-clinching win at Chi in week 15, 2012?
No takers? It was James Jones of course!
The 2012 leader in TD receptions at 14. I don't expect him to repeat that or replace Jordy but I'm happy to have him, and his experience back.
Doesn't he play for the Giants?
You may be onto something...
@Packerpedia: OTD in 1992: New acquisition Brett Favre comes off bench to erase 20-7 4th Q deficit, finds Kitrick Taylor for 35-yd TD w/ 13 seconds left.
Peterson fumble.
Dammit, called back.
Sort of like some stupid movie thread poster.
Sept 16, 1962: "The Packers launched a 13-1, NFL Championship season by routing Minnesota 34-7. Paul Hornung accounted for 28 points by scoring 3 TDs, kicking 2 field goals and 4 extra points."

Lambeau this year. Not saying you can hear a pin drop when the Packers are playing offense.
Nice article on one of GB's old hot spots.
As a young musician, I played there numerous times.
Fabulous picture.

Not a This Date, but Jeff Ash [re]tweeted a few tidbits on the Ice Bowl.
Gametime temp at the Ice Bowl was 15 below. No jersey pockets, no hand warmers, and in many cases no gloves! pic.twitter.com/epBsQ2CXit

#Packers LB Dave Robinson wore brown gloves. Told equipment guy Lombardi wouldn't notice. He didn't. https://t.co/SZDKXnMDuv

More gloveless players from the Ice Bowl. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/a3HGGxXvKh

The elements, the stakes involved, the personalities, the history made.
The final drive.
Greatest game in NFL history.

And after the game much of the team went to Appleton to The Left Guard Steakhouse. The heating broke down but the guys were so toasted many didn't even notice it.
The bandwagon broke an axle.
Bart is 82 tomorrow....what a weekend, Pack in the playoffs and Bama in the championship game.
Happy Birthday Mr Packer!
This happened.
It was a very good day
It's quite amazing that the impact of this deal didn't last longer than 15 years.
On this date in 1974: Packers traded 2 #1's, 2 #2's & a 3rd rd pick to Rams for 34-yr old QB John Hadl. Worst trade in team history.

Should have said Devine traded...

To me, this is also known as the day Sherman lost total control of Favre (if he ever had any). The WRs gave Favre A LOT of help that night.
I miss Big Irv
Remembering Don Hutson: He led league in receptions 8x. Led in receiving yards 7x. Led in TD receptions 9x. All of those remain NFL records.

Pack gets White for $17 million Tiny Green Bay makes biggest offer
FA has come a long way.
The salary cap in '94 (the year after White signed) was $34.608 million. White got $17 mil over 4 years, with the 2017 cap being $167 mil that works out roughly $82 mil over 4 years ($20.5 mil average) in 2017 terms. Von Miller owns the fattest contract in the NFL right now at $114 mil over 6 years ($19.083). Reggie got a pretty hefty deal even by 2017 standards, it was worth it though. That's the kind of UFA you overpay for.
