Who shamed him?  For starters, how about Billy Payne.  The once chairman of Augusta National. That jackass said numerous things in his presser back in 2010.  Feel free to look it up if you’d like.

Todd Marinovich, rinse and repeat.  End of story.

Marinovich's dad was even more driving than Woods' was.

I guess I never have gotten the sense with Woods that he really loved playing golf. He clearly loved winning, but if he'd have the chance to choose for himself, would he have played golf or would he have been a team-sport guy. Without really focusing on that type of training he supposedly ran a 4.6 40, had a 35 inch vertical, and obviously has some of the best hand-eye coordination in history. And he was built like a football player. You could imagine with some additional training in those areas growing up that he could have been a sub 4.5 guy. Could he have been a decent football safety, a soccer player, or a point guard? He never got the chance to decide because he was swinging a golf club before he could talk.

It's a interesting discussion about how much to push kids into a specific sport. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are probably the shooters that they are on the basketball court because they grew up watching their fathers play basketball and were gym rats. In their cases, you get the idea that they love playing basketball. The vibe you got from Tiger pre-2009 was that he loved winning more than he loved playing golf.

Einstein's short game also sucked mightily.

Sure.

He met disapproval in some camps, but overwhelmingly...and to this day, he's been given support. If it turns out this is another self-inflicted wound by him.... people will still pull for him.

I shattered my left ankle 3 yrs ago, still have some screws in it.  I was in a stabilizing boot for 3 months, non weight bearing for 3 months.

One ankle.  Gotta figure with his leg injuries he is in worse shape than I was.

Sorry to hear that Peak. Good vibes on the convalescence.

It does beg the question.

Did it happen in  that game thread where you told Tshmack if he melted down one more time you’d stick your foot up his ass?

I’m pretty certain this spells the end of Woods professional golfing career.  That’s a brutal injury for someone that relies on their legs and wheels to make a living.

Been fortunate not to tear an ACL or suffer a serious injury to leg or foot or ankle.  Normal stuff like sprains and busted ankles and stress fractures but man it sounds terrible.  Same to those that have been through something similar.

And yet there is this:    This accident left  Ben Hogan, age 36, with a double-fracture of the pelvis, a fractured collar bone, a left ankle fracture, a chipped rib, and near-fatal blood clots: he would suffer lifelong circulation problems and other physical limitations. His doctors said he might never walk again, let alone play golf competitively. While Hogan was in the hospital in El Paso, his life was endangered by a blood clot problem that led doctors to tie off the vena cava. He left the hospital on the first of April, 59 days after the accident.

Yes Hogan was younger than Woods, but he went on to win 6 more majors.  So people calling  the end of Wood's career don't know what the hell they are talking about.

Well good for Ben Hogan

Did you actually look at Woods injury and surgery history?

Woods ain’t 36.  He might as well be 86 because that’s the condition of his body right now.  Good to know we have resident medical experts on x4.  Not like 5 back surgeries matter prior to this incident.

Duct tape and wire ties and rubber bands and he will be good to go for the Masters

They won’t draw dick for ratings once Woods isn’t part of it but hey keep demonizing and degrading the guy.  So much diversity in pro golf anyway.

Woods needs to quit being such a pussy and play

And I know why you are still the one up everyone and get the last word tool.  Is that a retired old white guy thing?  Or just golf related?

Why you gotta bring race into this?

I'm not even white---I'm Italian.

And WTF is a "word tool"? I would never take the last one.

Never said I was a medical expert. That seems to be you with your fairly certain he will never play again.   Almost everyone wrote off Alex Smith too, but I swear I saw him playing QB for the Washington Football Team.   Maybe I was drunk like you.

Examples of anybody demonizing or degrading Woods in this thread?

You are a dum dum.

It's called a dictionary.  He's calling you a Sicilian dictionary, which is comparable to an English cookbook in terms of substance.

I hear that happens when the words "jaws of life" are involved in the equation.

Jaws of life were never used.  They broke the windsheild with an axe and used a pry bar to move parts that had his legs pinched.  He was taken out thru the broken windsheild.

Well.

If he keeps it up......

Is Tiger like older then Alex Smith??  By about 10- 15 years??  Or am I wrong?  Tiger is gonna have a really, really, bad time for healing.

Yep Tiger is about 10 years older than Alex Smith and he will turn 46 this December.  I wouldn't put it past Tiger to recover and have one last big win but man that is going to be tough for him to pull off.  He has had numerous back surgeries (5?) some knee surgeries, and now two shattered legs.   Due to his age I think it is going to be tough for him but most importantly he probably needs to concentrate on being a Dad and getting better for his family more than he needs to for playing golf.

He’s had his “last big win”.

2019 Masters was his most impressive victory. He’s done.

Reminds me of the time I scored with Mary Klewick. It was my most impressive victory.

But I’m done too.

Oh, well that works much better in a punch line.
