The high winds probably make it more likely Tiger survives to make the cut. He doesn't hit it far enough off the tee anymore to be able to go after pins with short irons for birdie tries. The tougher the conditions are, the better it is for guys that have to be conservative off the tie and on their approach shots.

The harder the course, the more likely he probably makes the cut. The cut line is right at +3 right now, which means he can shoot a 76 and still play on the weekend. With the winds, the cut might get to +4 or +5. No matter how he's playing, I like his chances of shooting 77.

I think his days of winning tournaments are long gone, unless he plays some non-major with a less talented field and gets hot with his putter. However,  it would be nice to see him walk down the 18th on a Sunday at Augusta, even if he's not anywhere near contention. No matter what you think of him personally, he's one of the top 3 most dominant athletes in his sport in the last 25 years, and to paraphrase the Raven's DC'c comment about Davante Adams, he's not 2 or 3.

Here is Tiger Woods at 10th place at The Masters at 1 under par. How can this be?   I could have swore I read somewhere that he would never play competative golf again.

I said he’d never play competitive golf on any given weekend again and I was wrong. He made the cut at the Masters.  Kudos to him.  But as entertaining as the Masters is when Tiger is playing, it was painful watching him drag himself around the course over the last three days and his back isn’t going to magically feel better for the final round tomorrow.

Dude should retire the sticks for good after tomorrow or he’s going to end up in a wheelchair by the time he’s 50.

I think he will be competative on the Legends Tour if he decides to go that route.  They only play for 3 days so he may be able to handle that if he continues to recover and get stronger.

And where in the hell is Goldie???   She is usually all over these golf threads.

I’m sure she’ll ref Tiger in the Masters in three or four days. Something along the lines of, β€œHey, Tiger made the cut at the Masters!”

The course was tough today for a lot of players, as were the weather conditions.
Sunday is forecast to be a much better day, temps in the 70's by noon with low humidity, and fairly light winds (5-10 mph).

Tiger is toast, but I'd like to see him complete the round.
If Smith plays as well as he did today (2 strokes ahead of everybody else, 3 strokes ahead of the leader), he will have a good shot.
Scheffler is still in the driver's seat, but he needs a better round than today.

I feel bad for all the golfers who are putting in great performances and have a chance to win the tournament, but are getting ignored because sports media are starfuckers who only care about Eldrick the Slut.

I started watching the Masters well after it started today.  Tiger currently is at +13 which places him 47th.  I haven't heard his name today.  Maybe he gave it all he had just to make the cut.

It's actually now a  perfect scenario for them. A lot more people watch any event that Tiger plays in, which raises prize money substantially. Tiger is now no threat to win. So they will make more money with no change in their chance of winning.
