Some people should listen to the guys that are actually coaching and playing these games.

MM and Rodgers are constantly saying how hard it is to win ANY game in the NFL.

now, we are talking about a divisional game and it being on the road...

I am happy, very happy, with a W. I am also happy with being 1st in the North.

it is not realistic to expect any team to put up 50 every week while blowing away the competition.

The queens showed up to play, we won. get over the 3 point crap, it is a W. we are first in the North.

NE is coming to OUR house. I am not worried...

Was there another penalty on the play ? Commercial break ?

The guy is a magician.   Wasn't there a penalty on us for some BS on that play anyway....or am I confused with the other million and 30 penalties called.

I believe there may have been a penalty on the play which the Vikings declined as the play was ruled a non catch. Had the catch been properly ruled the Packers at least would have been able to run another 3rd down play.

Not sure if Zimmer initially took the penalty or the stripes assumed he would take it and make it 3rd and 20 instead of 4th and 10 because he's kind of a meathead. 

No one ever took a longer look at that catch. Probably because ref number 118 had such a perfect sightline of the play he couldn't possibly cluster **** the call. 

MM is the worst at using his challenges.

This play and another I can't recall right now were worthy of the red flag, yet MM always chooses to use it on unwinnable plays.

That picture is pretty telling. obviously he was not out unless a foot went OB before these frames. The ref certainly was not out of position to make the play. Begs the question how did he not get it correct?

how did both of them not get it right and how come faux didn't even try and give us a replay?

After careful consideration, I am concluding that Zimmer is a rat-faced bastard just like Shanahan. I keep thinking how much they really do look alike.

There was another one involving Jordy at about the 11 minute mark of the second quarter. Live it looked like he was not touched, he thought he was not touched. On the one replay I saw t appears that he may have been tOuched by the d backs foot but it was never shown again.

I suspect Fox had to either go up to the booth so we had to stare at Moose's mind-numbing pin-striped suit or down to field to listen to Siragusa's mind-numbing chatter.

how closely the ref's call  the Gronk pushoff will determine a lot.

Sometimes he uses challenges more as an opportunity to take a TO than to really challenge the call.  Not always and only a theory but if you get a sense of the big picture at the time, momentum, pace, etc., he may have taken the opportunity to regroup  a bit.

I get that sense too DH13. 

If you lose the challenge you also lose a TO.

So why not just take the TO and save the challenge? You might need it later.

If you want a free TO, fake an injury like everybody else.

because the review takes longer than a TO....  or does it just seem that way?

Per the NFL Rulebook: Timeouts last two minutes. Not sure about challenges, but I assume those depend on what is being challenged, replay angles, etc.

The TV broadcast controls everything. Teams and refs all stand around waiting for the guy with the big orange gloves to let them know when the broadcast is back.

The guys I was watching the game with wondered what would have happened once the Vikings declined the penalty and then MM threw the flag and the INC. was overturned and the pass was called complete. Could the Vikings have gone back and then took the penalty? They already would have declined it once. 

Well, one way to effectively cover Jordy is with a corner, with safety help and a ref.   Refs really screwed Jordy the entire game.

Good question, Ammo.  I would guess that the play would resume as normal.  The Vikings then would get the chance to decline or accept the penalty again.  Of course, I could be wrong.  Which means:  I really don't know.  Then, I ask, why did I even reply.

I'm fairly certain if a play is overturned, the team will get the option to accept/decline the penalty again.

I think we have seen that scenario with the Packers, or a Packers game, recently; I think this year or last.

really Ammo?  That's your comeback?  Fox doesn't know it all, they just give you ALL the news.   I watch Fox News (not the shows necessarily) but the news so I can actually get the news.  Then, I can make a decision about it.  When I watch the alphabet networks, all I get is what they think is important.  (i.e., the Jonathon Gruber fiasco...nothing on the alphabet networks....this is the biggest story of government deceit since...well, since the IRS scandal that still going on).

I do hope whether you are liberal or conservative that you can admit that the alphabet networks shields viewers from what is actually going on out in the world.  All you get is a liberal slant.  I watch Fox so I get both.

Ha.  I do, Fandame.  That's how I compare the information.   I wish everyone would take the time to do that and they too, would also decipher the hidden code of the alphabet networks.  It's definitely a liberal slant to what is put on the air.  I tell people,  "Don't believe me.  Watch for yourselves."  Again, if you don't know who Jonathon Gruber is or the ramifications of his "work"; then you haven't been paying attention.  The alphabets did not even report the abuse of power.

Aristotle (or was that Shaq?) was a smart man...but in 330 BCE there was no mass communication like there is now.
