I saw much of the Falcons/Bears game yesterday. Needless to say, Matty Ice and company looked pretty stale, Not to say that's how they will look this week, at home, where they tend to be a vastly different team but they we're just 1 of 3 in the Red Zone and their only decent drive on a long pass to Hooper came from a completely blown Bears coverage.

The Packers front 7 will see a much improved OL then what the Seahags provided. ATL tends to play much better at home. Let's hope Bulaga is good to go by the end of the week.

Bring 'em on.

Watched the ATL-CHI game last night on NFL game pass. The ATL defense is suspect in the middle. Monty, Cobb, Bennett, Kendricks all should have success. CHI also had lots of success with the passing game in the flats to their

The ATL passing game did not look much different than last season. Freeman looked sluggish - could have been the CHI turf as mentioned.

Packers get Allison back. Who gets cut/IRd? Any significant injuries from yesterday?

Michael Cohen was on local sports radio this AM, said he overheard Ahmad Brooks talking to teammates, was in very good spirits and didn't seem concerned about the concussion. Today can always change things (in terms of how he's feeling), but Cohen didn't seem to think it was serious.

Randall had cramps related to dehydration, shouldn't be an issue this week.

Montgomery, whatever foot injury he had, he returned to the game and told Cohen it was "minor".

That's all he could recall for injuries that the Packers had. Pretty amazing considering how physical that game was.

So, I don't know see anything that would be an automatic IR to make room for Allison. Sounds like Ted will need to make a healthy cut?

Mays? Pipkins?

Chicago gave Atlanta everything they could handle in that game.  Chicago would have won if they would have gotten a TD on the last series of the game. They were on the 5 yard line, or so, and couldn't score. The Bears receiver, on one of those downs, was held in the end zone and there was no flag. First and goal from the 1 with seconds left on the clock may have seen a different outcome. Jordan Howard drops a pass on the one inch line. Too much bad news for the Bears. Atlanta did look stale. Julio Jones  looked solid, though. Our D line should give Matt Ryan headaches on every Atlanta offensive series. If we can cover their receivers, we should come out with a victory.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said coming into the Bears game Takk McKinley's primary role would be as that nickel rusher. Well, Falcons were in their big base package for a good part of the game to stop the run. Star pass rusher Vic Beasley Jr. played just 30 of 67 defensive snaps and nickel back Brian Poole played 36 of 67 snaps. Both Beasley and Poole had sacks. Much more nickel coming vs. Packers.

I don't want a simple victory.

i want an annihilation, after this next game I want the entire NFC to know that the GBP are the team that needs to be worried about.

I want that Bullseye to be squarely on their backs. It seems like that is when they play their best ball.

for example, last year there were six teams that could have eliminated the Packers from the Playoffs, none were able to do it.

i think Mr. Rodgers may still have a bit of the RTT in his mind.

Kinda like how the Packers dominated Seattle from the opening whistle to the end of yesterday's game.

after Seattles first 3 and out I told my girlfriend that it was going to be a nice game for me to watch.

she looked at me like I am crazy(she is a soccer fan), but the energy being displayed by the Packs front 7 is something I have wanted to see for a long time.

i saw that in Seattles first 3 offensive plays. I knew it was going to be a long day for Sattles offense, I was just hoping that the Packers offense could exploit enough small cracks in Seattles deans to win the game.

as the game went on, I saw one team imposing their will on the other. This game could have been 16 quarters long and GB was going to win because they had already defeated them in the mental part of the game.

We will get a good look at our secondary this week.  Hard to say how they performed last week because Wilson rarely had time.   #1stWorldProblems

I think this is their 1st game in the stadium, Gtech played in it on Saturday though, so the crowd is going to be insane.   Weather the storm in the 1st quarter and give Rodgers a chance.

Exactly:

1)  Pass rush trumps coverage every time.

2)  Weather the storm, like NE did in the Super Bowl.

Everyone was down on our secondary for the NFCC game, but running into Atlanta's offense under those conditions was like running into a buzz saw.  No one was going to shut them down completely, you just had to weather it and bounce back.  Our problem was not so much Atlanta as it was the Cowboys.  The last second heroics of that game and all the elation afterwards gassed us so we couldn't muster up a comeback.

Having no healthy WR's and CB's played much more of a role in that defeat if you ask me..

the Falcons starters beat up on 3rd string players at important positions that day.

I remain unimpressed with Atlanta. I think the Eagles are better than them, Cowboys as well.

And that is not even mentioning the Lions, Vikings and Seahawks or Panthers..

Atlanta probably does not even make the playoffs this season...

NBC guys noted Falcons looked really slow on the turf, do much better indoors on their field.

The Packers looked fast yesterday on the turf, much faster than prior years.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how our team looks on that Atlanta fast track.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont believe Atlanta's new turf is quite the "fast track" that the old artificial turf was.

The new stadium has a retractable roof an is surfaced with FieldTurf Revoultion 360. According to thier website "This surface is already in use at several facilities, including Gillette Stadium and CenturyLink Field".

Certainly faster than grass but not the trackmeet surface of old as its also made for cushion and drainage, etc...

Sarkisian will be the only thing holding Atlanta back on offense. If Packers front 7 plays with the energy they did yesterday then Atlanta will be throwing a lot of quick passes over the middle. Perfect time for the Josh Jones and Kentrell Brice hit show over the middle and our starting Safety/ILB Burnett. This will be a true test of our revamped DB group, Seattle isn't a powerhouse passing team.

Patriots replacing turf at Gillette Stadium after installing it in May

The Patriots will be playing on a new surface when they next take the field at Gillette Stadium.

The team said it had made the move to the most โ€œtechnologically advanced FieldTurf surfaceโ€ when it was installed in May of this year, but theyโ€™ve decided to tear it out and make a change after two preseason games and last Thursdayโ€™s loss to the Chiefs. Mike Reiss reports that the change is being made because the playing surface is โ€œnot meeting team standards.โ€

The specific places where the turf is falling short is not clear, although Reiss reports some players have said the surface was โ€œespecially soft.โ€ Interestingly, the team touted that very feature โ€” it โ€œplays soft, feels real, looks great and hangs toughโ€ โ€” when it announced the installation of the surface this year.

The Patriots will next be at home for a September 24 game against the Texans while the New England Revolution of the MLS, which also calls the stadium home, will play a game the day before.

I think Bill B. is just putting in a new A/V monitoring system. Drastic times require falling back on what worked before.

Can't wait for this game. I could see the Packers curbstomping them if GB gets out to a fast start and early lead of 10 points or more. Not saying that is going to happen but ATL is a frontrunning team and fan base and as said above, they are really going to miss Kyle Shanahan.

That is true, I forgot about the new stadium in Atlanta.  But my point was more about whatever speed Atlanta gains from playing at home is equal to what the Packers will also gain from playing there.

From what I saw of the ATL game against Chicago that did not look like one of the best teams in the NFC.   They weren't efficient in the red zone,  the Bears ran the ball pretty well, and the decisive score was on a blown coverage to a TE for a long TD.

The pressure is squarely on the Failcons for this one and GBs win yesterday ensures it's not a "must win" so the Packers can just go out and play fast and have fun.

I expect ATL to play better but the same applies for GB.   Something tells me GB will want to show the world they have something to prove after getting blown out last year in the playoffs.

Even if he's just a Howard Green level contributor then he will be a good signing. We need another heavy in the middle to clog things up, Daniels won't be effective late in the year if he's playing the whole game for 16 games (same for Clark). Adding Ricky JF and Dial improves our depth in a huge way and allows interior rushers like Daniels and Lowry to get some rest.
