Of course, the defense needs work but if you can't see the vast improvement from last year I don't know what to tell you.  The play calling, improvising with what you got checked a top contender pretty god damn well.   When you're stuck on the field in 80+ degree heat **** is going to happen.  They won it.  The game was won.

Am I going to give two ****ing ****s in a couple hours?  No, but call a spade a spade.

The DL looks better with Wilkerson added into the mix. Those guys are getting push, and there is cause for hope with the young players in the secondary. I will agree there have been improvements. Perry and Matthews are the biggest letdowns on defense right now. The DL is giving them opportunities to get after the QB, and they're not taking advantage.

D is better, no doubt, they got gassed.  How about the series right after Clays hit the Pack had their hands or at least a hand on two of Cousins passes, Alexander 1 hand and a lineman 2 hands and could not secure it.   Tough plays for sure but...

Lots of things went the other way, not just the refs.

Only saw a few series and had to listen to radio call.  But it sounds like House was the weak link for the D.  I knew when I saw him on Diggs/Theilen we were toast.  O has to find the EZ.  And where the F'n F was Lewis?

Actually, House did get completely burnt but Brice ****ed up too.  Dix completely blew it earlier in the game when King released Treadwell.  Tramon got burnt too on motion.  The rookies were the ****.

One cool thing about today is that all the can't beat the NFL referee PR campaign Rodgers is infallible bull**** can stop.  And stop now.  Because there were some bull**** calls in this game.  Like complete head scratchers.

Let's just play the games, guys.

There is just nothing at LB right now.  Zero.

My biggest thing is seeing Pettine scheme.  That's what gives me hope.  Keep adding talent and it'll turn into something great.

And Alexander, that kid is a ****ing baller.

Paws

+ Young CB's looks good again.

+ OL played well enough to win the game.  Run game and pass pro.

+ Allison continues to progress and make impact plays.

Negs

- Old CB's looked old

- Zebras took this one from us.

- Clock mgt.  On both AR and MM

Summay

This feels like a loss, we are probably going to have to win in MN to win the division.  Reality is it's probably not as bad as it feels.

I won't dispute that it was a bad call on Matthews, and it obviously gave the Vikings another chance. But you know what? Bad teams latch onto bad calls and make excuses. Good teams pick themselves up and overcome them. Right now, the Packers do not have a good defense.

The bad calls on QB hits like the one we saw today are made every single week in the NFL. Not only will these calls keep coming, they will continue to get worse in the coming years. Any time an Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady goes on IR, the NFL will institute even more restrictive rules to protect their golden geese the following offseason. It happens every time one of the big star QBs goes down.

When it happens on a game winning play and the whole team is celebrating a hard-fought victory, it’s a lot to overcome.  They were blowing off the last of their fireworks in celebration, only to have it stolen for no valid reason. I don’t care how good you are, that’s a hard re-group.

Right, not looking for absolution.  Just wanted to be on record that the NFL isn't predisposed to favor 12.

That's all.  Because I see more of that **** than I can take.

How about call the goddang game right.

Jesus. It’s not too much to ask.

I agree, and my name is not Jesus.

Adams squeezes the pass at the two minute warning in the 4th for a TD and virtually everything we’ve been kicking around the last couples hours is pretty much irrelevant. Gotta make plays when the plays are there to be made.

Henry posted:

Let me ask this for those who bring up the "should've played better to not be in that situation".  Is being up by 8 points and picking off the ball to seal the game not enough?  Do they need a complete rout in every game?

For guys like my brother yes they somehow feel every game should be a 20+ point win. He’s still harping in not getting Mack.  Apparently the addition of Wilkerson is lost on him great addition.

I agree completely the defenses is quite improved and will continue to grow. I think Burks next to Martinez will be that next step. I have 2 complaints 1) Tramon and Davon look slow and 2) the Saftey play has been awful. Sure Dix got a deflected INT but his play on the opening Vikes TD and Brice failing to cover for the said slow House is inexcusable.

Offensively time management continues to be a problem as is red zone efficiency. Now today those problems are notable due to the “calls and no calls”.   Taylor hold on the negated Graham TD was bad, the missed PI on Graham and OPI on Adams the no calls on Dean Lowery (dude would have had back to back sacks) was worst but nothing compares to a game ending INT wipes out. Matthews clearly learned his lesson from last week.  We actually see the end result of all this earlier when Daniels lets up.

Lastly let’s give some props to Clark. My goodness this kid is going to be something.

Agreed

sorry to do this and please correct me if wrong that was a pretty wicked forearm to head though by 22 and quite honestly I feel like the all the tackles by Vikes look like they just have a little extra to them?

And I'll add this.  MM settles for too many FG. But when aggressive late in the game he had bad clock management. Which do you want TDs or win by 3?

Yup, and just a few minutes before we heard Pam Oliver quote him saying he feels somewhat undervalued by the NFL writers and players as to how good he is, make that tough catch and your value skyrockets.

Jesus. It’s not too much to ask.

It's just going to keep getting worse. Kirk Cousins is paid $28 million to play QB by the Vikings, and he eats up a big chunk of MN's salary cap with that fat contract. If he gets a boo-boo that puts him on IR or gives him a concussion, the man who writes those checks to him (Wilf) will immediately be on the horn with Goodell, shouting in his ear demanding even more rules to protect QBs. Same goes for any of the big money QBs. That is why we saw that call made, and they will continue to be made with increasing frequency. Every time a star quarterback goes on IR, they tighten up the rules. Guys like Goodell think they're improving the game by doing this crap, but it's obviously the issue that is going to destroy the NFL in the future.

People watch this game because it's violent, not in spite of it. Remember that play where Mike Daniels pulled up on Cousins and let him go on to complete a pass? It was a surefire sack if he wraps up, but he let him go instead because he was afraid of a goddamn flag. That would have never happened just a few years ago.

Is that what Pam Oliver was saying? I was preoccupied trying to guess how many  brats she had consumed today

Positives: our young DBs look like some dogs. There’s a huge talent drop off from King, Alexander, Jackson, and Brice to the old guys and Dix. Get an actual FS in there (::cough:: Earl Thomas ::cough: and that group is GOOD!

Negatives: ****king veterans making mental errors...Rodgers, Adams, Bulaga, Clay, Daniels, Dix, etc. all had costly mental errors.

Yes - it would have been game over. CM made a good football play.

Yes. Very bad overthrow by Cuz & picked by Jaire.

We all called it, all week long. Cuz was going to throw an INT or 3 vs. the Packer defense. He did. But the NFL took it away from them.

I'm dead serious. I'm not watching this $hit next week. Lotsa shows on NetFlix & Prime to get caught up on.

I'd rather watch Teen Mom & housewives of Orange County

Is that on Pornhub?  I may want to tune in

- fukkin refs

- fukkin refs

- fukkin refs

- see above.  Nothing called on Vikings sacks all day, several of which had them driving their full weight on Rodgers.

- McCarthy clock mismanagement and crappy play calling.  How do you not force Minnesota to use their last two time outs after the Dix interception?  Without any timeouts left, Minnesota's playcalling and execution could have been way different on their last td drive.

- the game and the fact that the Packers were robbed got me so pissed that I have no desire to watch football for a while.
