Let's just play the games, guys.
That doesn't absolve McVince in the least.
Right, not looking for absolution. Just wanted to be on record that the NFL isn't predisposed to favor 12.
That's all. Because I see more of that **** than I can take.
Then you know how I feel when people start comparing an average OC with Lombardi and Belichek.
Perhaps I am not being clear. To me, this game was a big **** you to all the NFL fans that insist that the NFL, the refs, the opposition, the little children..are all biased towards the metropolis that is known as Green Bay, WI. Because somehow Green Bay, WI is the cornerstone of this football.

Sorry, I know Arod was hurt last year, but this rule is going to cause problems all year. Daniels even passed on a sack, because he was trying to avoid a penalty. We are this close to flag football.
My problem with the play calling on the series after the int started with first down. There was 2:05 left when they got the ball back. I was screaming for them to put the ball in Rodger's hands there and go for the end zone. An incomplete is going to take 5 seconds and go to the 2 minute warning. After that, though, I had no problem with them passing on the next two downs. Even if they run it twice, Minnesota would have had plenty of time to score.
That ref was so bad he just earned the Super Bowl assignment. NFL BRUTAL.

NFL is becoming a glorified 7 on 7 passing league.

Based on the way they police hits now, I have no doubt that a majority of owners already would support putting flags on the quarterbacks.

Pretty much. Dim bulbs like Goodell think all of the massive video game numbers we see QBs put up now are what drives the league's popularity. It isn't. People like seeing big men violently assault each other, that's what makes it popular. No one wants to see turds like Ryan Fitzpatrick look like Dan Marino. It sucks.
Bottom line : 5 pt lead with 2+ on the clock with a 1st and 10 at Vikings 13. Feels like a loss when I think of it that way.
+ congrats to all who bet the underdog Packers with +1
+ aggressive play-calling. I like that we took a couple of chances with under two minutes to seal the game, instead of just running the ball and forcing Minny to take time-outs. Didn't work today, but I like the attitude.
+ adds to the rivalry - I hate the Vikings more today than I did yesterday, and that is a lot
- I feel ripped off by multiple terrible calls. Preaching to the choir...
Oh well, suck it up, I am not quitting football, and look forward to next week. We have a good team, and sometimes these kind of games make you stronger.

This rankles me too as it's a basic way to play the game. He's gotta know that, as does Rodgers. Go for the kill shot? Fine, do it then on a play action pass.
Agreed, but I would have run it 3 times. Time was our friend and thereβs always a chance we make a first down which would ice the game since the Vikings would have no time outs. There was no need to throw into the end zone.
Henry posted:Let me ask this for those who bring up the "should've played better to not be in that situation". Is being up by 8 points and picking off the ball to seal the game not enough? Do they need a complete rout in every game?
And oddly enough, I'd say it was the offense's lack of execution rather than the defense that prevented GB from notching a win. Cousins was chuckin it all over the joint, Minn wrs made great plays when they needed to, as did the GB Def. There were fails at every level today, including coaching, but only one unit MADE the plays needed to win the game.
Aaron Jones is coming back from suspension. Maybe that will inspire McCarthy to give his RBs a few more touches next week in Washington. We can only hope.
Good joke, Pack-Man.
+ Awesome punt block and score
+AR seemed OK and played OK
-The NFL has a really big problem with rules when you can expect a flag on every big play. It's no way to run a league. The ratings are flagging and it's not all about the take a knee BS.
-D was torched by Cousins. They better get a lot better before that Thanksgiving weekend showdown in the Tool Shed.
-MM is circling the drain. Undisciplined teams who continue to make errors and collect penalties at the worst possible times. Horrid, horrid play calling and time management. When's the last time he won a big game? The playoff game in Dallas a few years ago? The marble-mouth dummy persona he displays at press conferences isn't an act.
I wanted to see Lewis in and runs to his side. Pound it for two downs and if you don't get the first or aren't close, go to a pass. Lewis is here for a reason, use him.
I hate that "should have never been in that situation to let a bad call help determine outcome" way of thinking, even when coaches and players say it. Part of the reason we love sports is being in those close situations and hoping they turn out in our favor through the good play of the teams and players involved. Those are the close games that we have a stake in and get passionate about, win or lose. The fact that a horrible ref just totally influenced the outcome of the game robs GB fans of not only a win, but the passion, ecstacy, and purpose of the sport.
Plus:
Aaron Williams - I'm not his biggest fan but he did a nice job in blitz/rush pickup most of the game.
Ty Montgomery - He also looked decent in pass protection, which was a weakness, as well as ran well.
David Bakhtiari - He played another very good game.
Kroll's - They may have a new employee who can help they're co-ed soccer team and pick up some open shifts. On the down side, he may need to crash at his managers place until he can find an apartment.
Geronimo - Yeah, Rodgers makes the guys around him better but Alison made some plays also today.
Aaron Rodgers - Let's not forget, he drove them in to FG range in about 37 seconds to end regulation.
Ryan Fitzpatrick's post-game press conference.
Minus:
Defensive speed - It's still lacking, especially with Burks out. ILB looks like it's manned by guys wearing 40# ankle weights.
Crosby - Harsh, I know, but the game was there to win and he shanked the re-kick.
DaVante Adams - Need to hang on to that TD. In a tight game, mistakes like that are huge.
Mo Wilkerson - Again, harsh considering everything else he did, but if he hangs on to the ball they also win.
++++
youngest daughter got to go down on field before game. Met Giannis. Actually talked to the Freak. Only in WI can 34 soon to be NBA MVP walk around and chat it up and not be the center of attention.
Scored great seats. 85 degrees. Glorious conditions.
The young corners were outstanding. No secret Minnesota made hay when King went out and then targeted House and Tramon later in the game. Ugh. 23 and 37 will be stars. If 20 can stay healthy he is legit.
Minnesotaβs kicker and Treadwell. God did they suck ThanksRick.
Crosby. Even with the miss.
Jamaal Williams ran with an attitude
80 stepped it up as did G-Mo
Martinez was a tackling machine
Rodgers was inspiring today
ββ-
while daughter met and chatted with Giannis no picture. Fail!!!
Lots of mouthy and idiotic Vikings fans in the stands including several by us. Swear to God they are getting more insufferable over time. Iβve been to probably 10 GB/MN games in my lifetime (including home and away) and this is the most obnoxious behavior Iβve experienced. I hope they all get flat tires on their 4 hour drive back home.
Refs were terrible. But MMs playcalling down the stretch and in OT was worse.
House cannot cover or play. Love Tramon but he cannot guard Diggs or Thielen.
Let's be fair, not many can cover Diggs and Thielen.
+ The Vikings kicker bailed the Packers out after the refs bailed the Vikings out.
+ This defense is already better than the last several seasons and it should get better as the season goes on. The rookies are going to be special.
+ ARβs knee is going to be ok as long as he doesnβt reinjure it.
- Watching football isnβt much fun when you canβt celebrate a big play until you make sure there wasnβt some ticky tack flag to negate the play.
- Watching Tony Dungy on SNF defending the bogus Clay flag. βThe refs were consistent!β A$$hole!
- AR burning timeouts because he canβt get the play off in time. How long has he been in this league?
- King and his never ending injuries.
- The refs and new rules are ruining the game.

There was a point, was it 2nd qtr(?) where Monty and Williams ran with authority. I said to my brother, if they get this run game cranked up, esp. with Jones on his way back, this offense will be sick. I was under the impression that's one of the reasons they kept 3 vet tight ends on the roster. I'd think MM knows this and will cultivate more dominant run game, esp since it keeps defenders off his all world qb. But who knows what goes through that guy's head.
But then I think about it again and...
-MN Kicker misses 3 makeable FGβs and thatβs MN -9
- Crosby misses one key kick and thatβs -3.
- Thatβs +6 for the Pack.
- So we blew a 5 point lead with 2 + min left and went up by 8.
- Kind of feels like we should have technically won by 2. Or it could be a tie?
Itβs not how many runs, itβs the formations he runs from. Iβm just not a fan of running out of shotgun and especially not those dumb RPOs. The runs are too slow developing and force downhill runners like Williams to move laterally, which reduces his effectiveness. Under center in the I/ace/offset or out of the pistol or some variation of those I think are the most effective run formations.
Dungy is a good guy that does a lot for different charities but I heard it as well and i can tell you heβs ****ing wrong and itβs a horrible take.
CMIII got blasted last week (rightfully so) for a cheap shot hit but that was not today against Cousins. We all talk about refs not influencing the outcome of the game that was it. 23 makes that pick itβs game over and Corrente can eat a phat D.

Pretty sure "under center" wasn't gonna happen today
Lost in the all the drama is the fact that OPIE WHIZZBURGER fukking crushed it today. That 63 yarder was a beaut. Through 2 games he has a 50 yard avg. with 30% of punts inside 20, those stats would have led the NFL last year.
Thatβs a funny looking rock.
McCarthy acted like a dip**** down the stretch. How do you not burn clock in regulation? Then the mind numbing Rodgers stumble on 2nd and 1 in OT when they dial up a run option? No way that was 12s call. McStupidface for sure.
Rodgers already said it was his call. He changed the play and planned to keep it and hobble for a 1st down.
Rodgers did take 1 snap under center today. He clocked it with 17 seconds remaining.
or was another?
Jesus F Christ
Rodgers called that? With a bum knee? Did Rodgers call for not running the ball and burning clock late in the game?
MM is not good

Clock management, wasting time outs, a recurring theme. Plus settling for FG's too often.
MM, the coach that time has passed by.

Smart. Our guy is smert
Based on my count itβs Minnesota 5-1 or 6-1 on the bad calls today. Zimmer is an idot
And Sack is a bigger idot
If you really think the Vikings didnβt benefit more today from bad calls then quit watching football
The added rules and penalties are killing the NFL but donβt be so obtuse. Your suck ass kicker missing 3 FGs has nothing to do with officiating
