I don't see anything wrong with saying that BOB not being forthright with his understanding of the mess he was walking into, then showing cynicism towards his future in Happy Valley. it isnt moronic to me- In fact, coaching in college football deserves such cynicism. They've earned it...
If Chip Kelley takes an NFL job it will be interesting to see how his hurry up offense will work in the NFL and how successful he will be. The Browns need stability and if Kelley is their choice hope he can right the ship so they're not looking for another head coach in three years. The Brown's fans deserve it.
I hope he goes to the Bears... I think his system will get eaten alive and whatever team picks him will regret it.

So since all the other hypocrites, carpetbaggers and bs-ers do it he should?
Huh???

I will rephrase. If the trend in college is that coaches scamper off at the first sign of more money, better conference, easier cheerleaders...whatever...that means that every coach should say "hey, everybody else is doing it so I think I will break my word, my commitment, etc and lose credibility as well?"
CB, I think MC sided with you ...
And layoff the drunk schtick, Like the prince of the palace said, its mine.
(Problem for me right now is The Captain is still sleeping)

well ok then!
The whole O'Brien thing is being totally blown out of proportion anyway. If he stays he stays if leaves he leaves.
This notion that he deserves credit or is loyal to a fault is played out. College coaches bail all the time and schools can coaches all the time without much explanation. They are hired guns, and why people try to build it up beyond that I will never understand.
If Saban pulled a Pete Carroll and split U of A tomorrow that would surprise no one.

Not tomorrow, but maybe Tuesday.

I don't think a guy who has spent 6 years at a job, has a 62-13 record and two national championships is a good comparison to the BOB discussion.
6 years is your nobility mark.

Unless of course the school was about to get sanctioned by the NCAA for recruiting violations... Then it would not be surprising (see Carrol, Calipari, Fischer, etc).

That looked like a serious knee injury
Syracuse HC Doug Marrone (Former Saints OC) to da Bills.
O'Brien will receive a bump in salary in 2013, courtesy of a $1.3 million donation, which will help bump O'Brien's total compensation for the season to $3.6 million, sources told Pennlive.com. That salary figure would place O'Brien as the third-highest paid coach in the Big Ten behind Ohio State's Urban Meyer and Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Pennlive.com notes.
Call donation "mularky" and said he owed it to his family to explore the NFL...

I watched this guys presser yesterday. Seems like a simple fellow who won't be around too long on first impression.
Many Packers fans thought the same thing 7 years ago.

As for Rob Ryan...
@espn_macmahon
Rob Ryan confirms he's fired. "I'll be out of work for like 5 minutes," he said.

Looking forward to the day when white head coaches are as rare as white cornerbacks, and all NFL first ladies are fat white women. Only then will I get my reparations. Pay up, bitches.

Hmmmm.
The Jets DC asked to be let go so he could take the Buffalo DC job. He felt his only chance to eventually get a head coach gig was to get out from under Rex Ryan and develope his own defense.

@mortreport: Panthers OC Rob Chudzinski will be the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns, per league source. Browns have not confirmed yet.
@mortreport: Rob Chudzinksi is a done deal. He is the Browns new head coach. Confirmed.

Woah. Panthers fans HATE that guy. A very unusual decision, but the Browns were probably down to their fifth or sixth choice.
I remember one time a nondescript OC got hired for a certain...
I thought Pederson was coaching high school football?
Norv Turner to Cleveland as OC. Link

Yeah, it's the same feeling as when the Queens hired Childress.
