Holy , LOL that would be awesome.

Trestman was canned here at NCSU for 2 forgettable seasons.
and not the Philip Rivers or Russell Wilson eras - the crappy in between.

this is probably the worst hire they could make IMO
a journeyman with 12 different stops never as a head coach in the NFL or college.

his only asst head coach gig lasted 1 year and he was fired after going 4-12
From JS Online:

Clements, Bears talking: Offensive coordinator Tom Clements took a break from preparing for the San Francisco 49ers to interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching vacancy, ESPN Chicago reported.

The Bears also were reportedly set to interview Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison on Friday, Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell on Saturday and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians on Sunday.

@mortreport: Rob Chudzinksi is a done deal. He is the Browns new head coach. Confirmed.

Who's the front runner for the Cleveland Brown's job in 2-3 years. Any Packers Assistants?
I think Chudzinski is a good hire for Cleveland. He knows the city, I believe he's from there originally, and he did a pretty nice job in Carolina running that offense.

Personally, I think the Cleveland job is one of the better openings in the league. They have a stud RB in Richardson, a pretty good QB in Weeden, and some other good young players. The expectations also won't be sky high like they would say, in Philly or Chicago.

San Diego should be a decent job but they might have one of the most fickle fan bases in all the NFL, their stadium sucks, and that roster is tough to figure out because their play is so damn inconsistent.

Trestman was a Minnesota guy and the locals there basically labelled him some sort of genius (I don't know why). His timing was impeccible - he joined the Niners in the mid 90s when Steve Young was there, and he also was on Gruden's staff in Oakland when Rich Gannon was there and put up big numbers. By the same token, he left the pros about 10 years ago and never returned. In some respects he reminds me of Cam Cameron. A guy that somehow earned this reputation but never really backed it up most of the time.

I hope the Bears hire that guy!

Uhhh yeah... you know.
@PackerUpdate: Pro Football Talk reports Packers V.P. of football administration/player finance Russ Ball has interviewed for the GM opening with the Jets.

@PackerUpdate: Ball handles contracts for Green Bay. Should he get the job with the Jets, former Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt could be a possible replacement.

Well. Pretty clear Rex Ryan doesn't want a personnel guy as GM, Tannenbaum was a cap guy also. Although I wish Ball well, no one deserves to go to the J-E-T-S with Woody and Rex running that franchise into the ground. The media shellacking alone would be turrible.

As for the Reinfeldt angle, IIRC he was a teammate of TT's back in the Houston Oilers' days and is one of Ted's best buds in the business.

I read somewhere, might have been in Harlan's autobiography but I'm not sure, that if the Packers didn't hire Thompson, Reinfeldt was planning on bringing him over to the Titans.

Bears down to 3

According to multiple NFL sources, general manager Phil Emery has selected at least three finalists for the team's vacant head-coaching position.

As expected, the three known finalists are all offensive oriented. They are Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman, Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

Those three are expected to visit Halas Hall this week to interview for a second time with Emery.
They're blaming Milus for the across-the-body INT Manning threw in overtime.

Because heaven knows Peyton Manning is never ever to blame for anything that ever goes wrong with the team he plays on.
@mortreport: Chip Kelly is the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, according to league sources.

Confirmed by multiple reports.

Think this guy's balloon will be burst early and often.

DIRTY!!!!! That's about all you can say. The NCAA needs to get a handle on this big time, between NCAAB and NCAAFB coaches taking off, and screwing recruits.
Green Bay assistants don't seem to be getting any love. One interview for Clements. We tend to think yes! we didn't lose anyone. Maybe, they aren't that good and no one wants them. Does MM need some fresh blood on his staff?
B4 you say we got 27 wins the last two years we still have major problems going forward. Defense needs to improve, need interior O-lineman (men) a safety on D. We have not replaced Collins or Jenkins or Mr Purple Drank for that matter. Running back still up in the air.
