How about you cite a post that specifically impugned his character? He acts like a spoiled punk. You have eyes.

I agree with everything said in the last couple of hours in this thread (after the Aaron is gay joke that went waaaay over Goldie’s head). Jaire is sounding like a low-character person, and there’s no room for that in this organization.

It’s more like I’m just out of touch in general. The demeanor and antics in particular of guys that play either cornerback and in particular wide receiver may  well be to display confidence, but it has little to do with class and sportsmanship and a lot more to do with ego and narcissism. Rant over and stay off my lawn.

I actually like that he has an attitude.  When was the last Packer defensive player on this team that played with a that attitude?  Not too many of them that's for sure.

I also like players, especially defensive players, who play with an attitude ... as long as their performances back up their attitude.

With regard to Jaire Alexander, there is certainly an argument to be made that he has talked/acted a better game than he's played in 2022. As the saying goes, if you are going to talk the talk you better walk the walk.

Then again, a certain segment of the fan base does not countenance any Packer player displaying "attitude" out on the football field no matter how well the player is performing. Such fans prefer non-confrontational, reserved, lunch bucket players to a "punk" (their word for him not mine) like Jaire.

Such fans have would absolutely hate having "punks" like Aaron Donald, Mike Evans, Ndamukong Suh, Chris Jones or Travis Kelce on the Packers. Remember there were fans who were adamantly opposed to adding OBJ last year based not on what he might do to help the Packers win games but because of his "attitude."

As you note, Packer defenses have not featured many defensive players who play with an "attitude" in quite some time. That the Packers defense has also sucked for quite some time is of course completely unrelated to that fact.

Anyone who still thinks Wyatt is a big old bust but also gives credence to PFF may have a problem:

PFF? I wonder about the sample size of the data. Would he have done that with more snaps? I also wonder about what things go into the scores. For example, what if a defensive player gets a pressure data point when it’s because of a boo boo on the offense or if someone else did the heavy lifting on the play?

I'm slightly older than you and I have no issue with Jaire running his mouth.

Does that mean I'm awoke? Isn't that what the kids say these days?

I don't know, which is why I added the disclaimer.  From the twitter analysts, again FWIW, it appears he has been having an impact when he's on the field yet his snap count never seems to go up and no one knows why.

I think Jaire got a little too into that zone he gets in and got a little carried away with it. Yea not cool but he made it right. Maybe he learned something. As for his CB play NO he is not perfect but damn I am glad we have him. Lot of great plays ,I mean fantastic ones. Don't try putting him on a waiver wire. He would be gone in a blink of an eye. I like attitude but trash talk is just trashy.

If someone offered the Packers a 1st rounder for Alexander I’d take it immediately.

This ranks up there with some of the dumbest shit I've seen on the boards.  The NFL has four premium positions; QB, LT, CB and Edge.  Teams are continuously drafting those positions high hoping to hit on a guy that sticks.  GB happens to have a young elite CB in Alexander and some of you dumdums want to ship him down the road... because attitude.

Most of you dipshits couldn't lead a pack of ants to a picnic yet you have all the answers on how to run an NFL franchise.

Jesus fuck.

I think everyone needs to be not so hard on Kiel. He had a tough morning at the canasta table.  And his Wednesday evening shuffleboard team has been hovering near the bottom of the standings all season.

A certain amount of bravado in a player…I don’t mind. Jaire is pretty much out there on his own for many plays, and when we have a DC with a clue, he’ll often be asked to match up against the opposing team’s best receiver. He needs confidence to perform his job well. Without it, opponents will exploit him.

But I can’t be the only one that sees a marked difference between bravado and arrogance. I’ll never be an elite athlete like Jaire, but if I were, and played as poorly as he did for much of the game on Sunday, I guess I’d remain silent after the game. That’s what being humbled is supposed to look and sound like. Learn from your mistakes, and come back better next time.

I’m a dinosaur, too. I guess letting your play do the talking for you is an outdated concept.

I was one of those fans not wanting OBJ to come here. It wasn't about his attitude, it was all about him being injured and his uncertain ability to play before the playoffs roll around. The Packers might not even make the playoffs, this year! Why spend $$$ on an injured guy, like that, when we do not even know if he'd pass his physical. Also, why spend BIG money on OBJ, when we have a lot of young WRs on rookie contracts, who are playing well, when they are on the field?

Walker is a premiere athlete, but right now he has "AJ Hawk syndrome" .... he is slow to "trigger" on run plays between the tackles. PFF has him graded 72nd of 81 ILBers.

I think that's recognition that may improve with more NFL reps (and maybe with better coaching). The difference is that AJ Hawk also wasn't fast enough to run people down at the sideline. At last Walker can do that.

Yeah I would never compare Walker to Hawk.  Walker is unbelievably fast and athletic, his issue is lack of awareness.  That can be fixed with more film study and experience.  Not a surprise for a rookie.  Hawk's issue was lack of speed and athleticism.  I have no doubt Hawk knew where to be, he just couldn't get there.

Not entirely accurate ... although Walker's 40 time (4.52) was better than Hawk's 4.64, Hawk had a better vertical and broad jump than Walker. I distinctly remember Hawk's position coach at the time lamenting that his problem was not "trusting what he saw and pulling the trigger on run plays". This is exactly what I see out of Walker ....yes, way better than Hawk running down plays outside & in coverage, but same problems between the tackles.
