Errr, Chongo?ððð
So, for a non-soccer person, blowing a 2-0 lead with 15 minutes left is the equivalent of what in the NFL?
We aren't in 33-0 territory, but it's more like 14-0?
Gotta love Chongo's hot takes.

The old soccer mantra goes. Nothing more dangerous than a 2 nil lead.
More like AJ Hawk not recognizing the fake FG was on.

I hope the next 30 minutes are as good as the last 30.
Yup, France has more depth and youth...Argies have faded.
Oh my.
WowâĶâĶso exciting.
Amazing.
What a game
Harry Kane would have missed that.

This is a better game than anything the Packers have done this year.
No words for this. Beyond epic.

That's BK levels of lacking pith.
You get my name out ya mouth.
Mind games are amazing
My God.....what a game!!! That was incredible to see.
It's called "Soccer" ð
So happy for the GOAT Lionel Messi
I'm not a soccer fan, but the action at the end of the second overtime period was exciting to watch. It's still disappointing they do the equivalent of shooting FTs to decide a world title. Why not go to sudden death and take a guy from each team off every few minutes to open it up ?
Just the best ever. Even Mrs.Kiel watched the last hour.

Now that would be a gimmick.
It still takes soccer skills to win in PKâs..that and steely nerves. No problem ending it this way..those dudes have run 10 milesâĶtheyâre dead on their feet.

All those Italian surnamesâĶwho says Italia wasnât in this tournament?ð
Best. Final. Ever.
Once it went to PKs, I knew it was Argentina's to lose. Their experience showed at that point. Mbappe was great, but I think it was his defensive lapse that helped allow Argentina to score their second goal; he had been a bit lazy coming back all tourney.
Happy for Messi and Argentina, but I think France will be even better in four years. Other than Giroud (36), they have only one other player who is 30 (he's 31). Argentina has seven players 30 or older. (Goalies not included.)

That would be amazing, but nowhere near the equivalent of free throws. Free throws are unchallenged. Penalty kicks have a big, athletic man between the posts hellbent on stopping anything you throw at them. It requires skill, guts and strategy to beat them.

Michigan, even if you took off guys to reduce the numbers and open up play, the size of the pitch is still the same and you have only so many subs. Those guys are gassed at the end of regulation and totally wrung out at the end of OT. Some of those players are worth a hundred million or more to their club teams, and the risk of injury if they played it out takes a big jump with exhausted players. No club owner wants to see their players worth millions sidelined for any length of time.
I dislike having big games decided by PKs if my son is taking a kick; if he's not taking a shot, I can enjoy the drama.
