This Packers D, if they play like they are in December, can go far in the playoffs. And doom-n-gloomers can officially STFU about them playing "bad teams" in the last month.

The Bears were 7-6 coming into Lambeau, had won 4 out of 5, and had everything to play for to keep their playoff hopes alive. They got stone walled by this defense.

The Vikings are 10-4 going into this game, playing at home, and The Packers had never won at the Stapler. They got stone walled by the defense.

What wins championships? Zadarius sure as hell knows. Also see Kenny Clark.

+ Iโ€™m happy to see Kevin King get a huge momentum changing pick and return. That guy takes more crap than anyone. But weโ€™re starting to see what happens when a group of men actually play together. You can have a great bunch of pieces, but it takes a while for that group of pieces to become a unit.

Weโ€™re seeing that defense come together. The Smiths. Kenny Clark. The kids in the secondary and Amos.

A stout D and a great running game can win Super Bowls. Aaron has that now. Now he just needs to lead us back to the promised land.

+ Defense stellar, including very stout against the run.  That is a huge improvement to early in the season.  Stout against Bears as well and so a pattern.

+Offensive Line - Rodgers generally had the time.  Run blocking.

+Rushing Offense - incredible.  When Jones ran for the final TD.  Ecstasy.   I said to my son in law during the game how enjoyable it is when it is your team and it fairly consistently gets 6 and 8 yards per running play.  The Pack does that A LOT!

- Turnovers.  Game otherwise would have been a blowout.

- Short passing game - this was generally highly successful and I think a dink and dunk offense (mixed with a couple big plays) would be consistently successful.

- Rodgers accuracy - it's just sometimes less such as the pass near the goal line to Davante Adams.  It's a pattern.

I am one grateful, delighted dude.

Our 3 best players on offense all turned the ball over and we still win the game.  (Rodgers, Jones, Adams).   That doesnโ€™t happen with a Dom Capers defense.  Z is looking like a Woodson or White addition .  Incredible player and leader of the D.

This defense is peaking and looking like a Championship level D.   We might not need Rodgers to be amazing to make it through the NFC but itโ€™s nice to know that he can if we do.

Rodgers was as bad as we have ever seen him in the first half. Strangely enough, Aaron Jones was equally bad in the first half. With Adams fumbling a ball it made it a perfect trifecta.

But the second half was a better story. Rodgers seemed to pull it together in the second half, Jones went off, and Adams was the playmaker heโ€™s supposed to be. Kudos to all them for getting their shit together, and to Lafleur for getting his guys on task.

But the defense was up to the task while the offense spent 30 minutes stepping on their dicks. Zadarius was the most dominant force weโ€™ve seen on the field for the Packer defense in a long time. A total wrecking ball.

Take care of the Lions and go Seahawks...

Ryan Clark highlighted this play on Sportscenter.
He showed how the Vikes ran that same play, from the same formation, from roughly the same spot on the field in the first game this season, and how King was too slow in recognition and response.
He pointed out King likely recognized the play from film study and put himself in a position to make a play on the ball.
I hope that's true.

I believe on each of the three turnovers, the offense had decent drives going. They did on at least two. The second half they played much better as a group. I would not have been shocked if Minn came out in the second half and adjusted to the detriment of the GB offense. But they tightened it up and were vg with the mix of run and pass. I think it does beg the question of how much AR played "within the system" relatively in each half. What changed that they were able to sustain drives and create scores? Is Rodgers simply not as sharp during these stretches of poor play by the offense? Was he a bit off his game due to all the looks Zimmer was throwing at him? As long as the defense keeps the game within reach, they always have a shot. But at some point in a big situation 12 and the offense will need to play a full four quarters. How close are they to springing the well and dominating a defense? Even with 3 turnovers I got the sense that they could easily be ahead 10-14 at halftime. Those opportunities cannot be wasted the further we go into Dec/Jan.
