Free-agent additions have come as advertised for Packers
What I can't believe is the production compared to the great Kahil Mack...
Doubt Gutey really expected the type of production from the Smith Brothers that he's gotten.
Even if he didn't, I wouldn't expect him to admit it.
Gutey already said they were trying to get ONE of them. When the legal tampering period started, they got BOTH! Crazy.
It's as if there is some benefit from being active in free agency.
Weird concept.
F U guys....poor Uncle Ted...
Seriously.....made me laugh ð

My wish list was Zadarius or Preston and Tre Boston.(in the FA thread) ...and we get 2 out of the 3. Never thought it possible.
Z absolutely wrecked the game for Minnesota. Any Viking fan that thinks the Vikings "are better" that person is delusional.
SWEEP BITCHES!!
Plenty of them did before the game and I sure as hell bet at least half of those people still do. Ya know, injuries, refs, etc.

A legitimate question to ask:
Was Smithâs performance one of the greatest performances by a defensive player in Packer history?
It was a rival game, a game deciding the division championship with wide reaching playoff implications, so the stakes were high.
I donât know how it ranks- Reggieâs 3 sacks in the Super Bowl jumps out, considering the game and the fact that it was pretty much clinching a championship. There are others Iâm not remembering- maybe a Tim Harris game in â89, maybe a couple Woodson games in his DPOY season, the Matthews predator game against the Bills in 2010, some Lombardi era games I never witnessed- Adderley, Willie Davis, or Nitschke.
Zadarius Smithâs performance on the biggest stage and the biggest game this season goes down as one of, possibly the greatest, ever for this franchise.
Z's game was right up there that is for sure!
I'll even throw out what madman Wayne Simmons did to Brent Jones in the '95 playoff game just cuz it always remains a favorite of mine.
Probably deserves to at least be in the conversation for DPOY.

It was a phenomenal performance without question... but you'd be jumping into some awfully deep waters talking about "all time" with this franchise.

Sure, the first thought is to say thereâs too much history. But hereâs the issue- can you come up with one? I have been thinking about this all week, and I canât other than Reggie in the Super Bowl. Which individual performance is on the same level/better?
Just about every game Charles Woodson played in 2009.
Okay not every game. But there were four or five that were just ridiculous.
Reggie throwing a receiver at Warren Moon
Scary question for 2019 playoff teams to Christian Ponder. What if ZaâDarius Smith was still a Raven?
Technically his production this year is slightly behind his last year In Baltimore.
Thereâs been a lot of hand wringing over losing Cook and Cobb to FA. And watching Cobb almost single handedly keep Dallas in a must win game last Sunday was hard to watch while Cooper and Elliott continued to tap out. (Cobb in this offense this year would have been insane)
I just canât understand how the Ravens let Smith walk as a FA.
Back on topic. Itâs not reflected in the stats. But Kenny Clark has once again become a one man powder keg in December. GB blitzed one time vs Minny. Once! Pettine went genius and utilized a 3 man rush with 5 on the line disguising the rush with Clark and the Two Smiths and Clark ate up double teams the way all of us would knock down a couple chicken wings. Clark was a monster Monday night.

That receiver was Cris Carter.

Well Nitschke was the MVP of either the 1961 or '62 Championship Game. I think it was 1962. And in 1965 he ran step for step with Jim Brown and tipped away what would have been a sure TD pass. Packers won that game 23-12. But his biggest contribution may have been in the Ice Bowl when walking off the field when the D stopped the Cowboys with 5 minutes left and told the offense, "DON"T LET ME DOWN!!!" We all know how that turned out.

Moon was scared, much like Cousins.

Think you have to add the game and what was at stake to the equation. Reggie's performance in the Super Bowl against NE was ridiculous... if memory serves, didn't he also have a hamstring injury that would've kept most people out of the game? That would have to be at the top of my list.
What about Al Harris in the playoff game against Seattle with the pick 6?
Tramon's pick 6 in the playoff game against Atlanta in 2010?
BJ Raji's pick 6 in the NFC championship game at Chicago?
Nick Collins' pick 6 in the Super Bowl?
Those are just a few from the era of Packer football I'm familiar with. I'm certain some older guys in here that were around for the Lombardi years have plenty more.
Pakrz,
I am inclined to believe there cannot be a better performance than Z Smith by any player for a single play.
3.5 sacks and 5 tackles behind the LoS. That's 9 plays right there.

Truly a dominant performance... that just MIGHT be the best single game performance ever. I'm just saying, that's a pretty damn big statement to make considering the history of the franchise.
Pakrz,
I'm with ya.
Ummm.
Lawrence Taylor.
3.5 sacks in one play is pretty impressive
Derrick Thomas had 7 sacks in a game once.... he was decent.
Of course, the original question was "Packers" history.
In that case the correct answer is always Reggie White.
RIP by the way Reggie. Passed away 15 years ago today.

Viking history it has to be Jim (oops, wrong way) Marshall.

I think the 3.5 sacks are part of the 5 tackles for loss. Still a great game, but not 9 plays.
Thread killer
And he will only get more dominant. A guy who's career is just getting going.

A favorite of mine was Bryce Paup vs Chitcago Halloween/Monsoon game.
2 INTs and 1 sack in those conditions was a great performance.
Another is George Teague's 101 yard INT return for TD vs Detoilet in the '94 Wild Card game. Probably not a dominating performance, but a helluva play!

That receiver Reggie threw at Moon was none other than, The Whiner, Cris Carter! It made the throw so much better!
