That's the equivalent of all the chatter about Jim Harbaugh, Urban Meyer and Nick Saban and putting them altogether to form a super GM/coach of the Packers. MM has get fired first.

Brian Kelly would also have to be fired. In 2015, Brian Kelly's ND went 10-3 and ended up #11 in the final poll. They lost by 2 points at Clemson (#2 in final poll), by 2 points at Stanford (#3), and to Ohio State in the bowl game (#4). Yes. Notre Dame is down this year, but I can't imagine them firing him less than a year removed from an outstanding season.

Brian Kelly is much like MM....very stubborn, overly loyal to terrible assistant coaches, can't commit to the run game, and is not able to adjust during a game. Just watch tape of the game they played in near hurricane conditions a few weeks ago at North Carolina State (a game that should have never been played) and explain why Kelly was compelled to stick to a shotgun formation, empty backfield and continue to throw the ball. Then he threw the center under the bus after the game for some...

That 2014 Seattle game is such a microcosm of Mike. It’s arguably the best coaching job he’s ever done. His team dominated Seattle on their field for 55 minutes in a title game. His loyalty to an assistant that was openly viewed as a potential liability (Slocum) cost him. And while I have repeatedly and openly questioned Mike for loyalty to assistants that have held his teams back (and will probably continue to do so) I also sit here today and watch Urban Meyer lay complicit waste to players...

Seattle: Momentum can be more fickle than a bouncing football. One minute, it's rolling your way, and the next you're full-out cursing and gnashing your teeth as you watch it go skittering away and you can't recapture it. That, and I wanted to make ^&^$^*(&%^ Bostick walk home. MM is still a really good coach, but he was/is too loyal to his staff. I think he tends to hire guys he likes and gets along with rather than the best guy for the job, thus making it much harder to fire them.

This is a great post. That Seattle game was such a microcosm of the Packers on this decade on so many levels. 3. MM (or maybe TT) keeping around guys well past their prime (or never had a prime) because they were "Packer people" - AJ Hawk. The AJ Hawk/Brad Jones/Carl Bradford ILB problems. That cost them a lot, not just in this game. 2. Julius Peppers dominating and then taking plays off best illustrated by telling Burnett to lay down on the interception when Peppers should have been busting...

Outside of maybe the SEC West, there is probably no team in the country that's had to play 3 team this good in a row, maybe ever. #8, #4, and #2 in the country? The teams have gone 40-6 combined since the beginning of last season and 3 of the losses were to each other. The other 3 losses were by MSU to Alabama in the playoff and to Nebraska on a disputed call and by UM to Utah (the only real outlier) in the first game last year. I think Bucky has a chance to be competitive in East Lansing...

I live about an hour from the O$U campus and am married to a rabid O$U fan so I get to see all their games. Meyer is definitely a much better Xs and Os coach and he also does not shy away from running up the score and he will not hesitate against the Badgers. Usually I think that UW has a punchers chance in that game but I just cant see it this year. Way too much talent that is bought and paid for by O$U. But it is in Madtown so there is always hope. I sometimes wonder what the schedule...

I really think teams are figuring out Urban's offense I really do. Ammo, I was really disappointed to see UW drop in the polls (but should be used to it by now) but you are right WVA is undefeated so I get it.

Crean to Meyer after yesterdays game, "You know what you did, you helped wreck the program" Joani Harbaugh needs to understand Crean didn't marry into the family because of his undying love for her. It was to be closer to his role models. Should be a fun tournament and you stay classy Tom!

It's no secret that its a program that recruits want to be a part of. Look at the programs Gary Anderson has been a part of. Under Urban Meyer, they ebacme a powerhouse, and he resurrected Florida's program after The Ballcoach left. The hope here is Anderson is that kind of guy. He Badgers have had enough to win in th BT, but Bielema's efforts still had them short of national prominence. That gap, plus a better coaching philosophy, may be what sets Andrson above Bielema. I don't concur at all on "expected". The Badgers are in this thing to win- they're not in it to achieve some sort of moral victory. Quite frankly, they let this one get away. Mental mistakes negating big plays and blown coverages cost them a chance to win a statement game. And all it did Was prove the naysayers right- they haven't played anyone. I don't think Saban or Miles or even that douchebag Meyer are happy when their team "hangs tough" with a top team in their house. I am sure Gary...

But they didn't turn it over. They also really didn't have a lot of penalties and Miller looked sharp. Personally, I don't think O$U can play THAT much better than they did against UW. On the other hand, the Badgers made some critical mental and physical errors that really came back to haunt them, The missed FG and dropped INT resulted in a 10 point swing. Sure, the muffed punt that was called back and the "non-fumble" on the awful facemask penalty were big but you know the refs aren't going...

Urban Meyer will retire as head coach of the Ohio State football team following the Buckeyes' Rose Bowl clash with the Washington Huskies on Jan. 1. According to Bill Landis of The Athletic, Ohio State offensive coordinator Ryan Day will take over as head coach effective Jan. 2. Landis added that Ohio State will hold a press conference Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET to formally announce the forthcoming changes. https://bleacherreport.com/art...m_campaign=editorial

I'm completely shocked that he played for Urban Meyer and he's having off the field issues. Whodathunkit? Despite his talents he seems like a knucklehead but he won't be the first nor the last. Maybe he's not taking the advice of Chrissy Carter and getting a fall guy. Oh wait - find a guy in your crew Zeke that doesn't get busted on a gun charge. That might be a good place to start.

I haven't read exactly what Barrett had, but the following scenario might be what happened (the same discussion happened with Russell Westbrook in the playoffs a few years ago). If you get a slight tear in the meniscus, there's a flap of tissue that can "catch" and cause a lot of pain and discomfort. There are two surgical options. First, you can go in and fix it so that it is attached where it should be. If you do this, it requires 6-8 weeks of rest to allow the repaired tissue to heal...

I never understood that "conference pride". To me that's like cheering for the Bears/Lions/Vikings because I want to see the NFC North do well...it makes me cringe thinking of that. I think the two best teams won (Ohio State and Oregon) and it should make for a decent championship game. Also good to see the precious S$C get knocked down a few pegs. The reality is there's a lot of really good college football being played outside of the S$C and bowl games are a good place to showcase what they can do. As for Urban Meyer hell yeah he's annoying and slimy but the guy can recruit and his teams win. With Harbaugh joining Michigan the Big Ten isn't going to be a pushover anymore.
