Probably a bit of both scheme and personnel, IMO. Guy was largely invisible against Pittsburgh and I haven't seen enough from Perry since his big payday to say that was a wise investment. Interesting stat on Hayward:

Still the same chicken / egg question with the defense. Pass rush or coverage? 16 of the 32 teams had 2 or fewer sacks last week. I'd like to see what percentage of sacks come from just a 4 man rush.

I'd like to know how fast QB's get the ball out against the Pack.  I suspect the rush is OK (middle of the pack), cept QB's see open guys in the middle of the field immediately into their routes.

Since our guys can generate pressure, I'll say it's scheme.
They get penetration, but can't collapse the pocket, and more often than not, can't contain the QB when he steps up.
Since blitzing is related, it's obvious that we've been as weak with that as well, and that's another indictment of scheme, IMHO.

Having Melvin Ingram (8.5 sacks) and Joey Bosa (10.5 sacks) up front would help any CB group.

Being coached by Not Dom Capers doesn’t hurt either.

Occam's razor.

Davante Adams doesn't mind this deal one bit. Jeffrey can't stay healthy and the Eagles are buzzing off their record. Perfect timing to overpay a WR...

Can you tell the difference between Goldie and Goalline?

Goldie looks like she could be from from Minnesota.

Goalline does not.

WHAT?! I'm from Brainerd!

He's the Toolmaster of Brainerd.

Just for comparison:

Alshon  43 catches, 619 yards, and 7TDs

Davante 55 catches,  702 yards , and 7 TD

Eagles soaring, Packers sinking, Wentz MVP candidate, Hundley is marginal starter

Very frightening. Hope this young man is able to walk again:

Last night’s encouraging update from the Steelers omitted reference to the question of whether linebacker Ryan Shazier has movement or feeling in his legs. Apparently, he’s not yet where he needs to be regarding that critical aspect of his overall recovery.

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Shaizer “has some movement in his lower extremities.” Per Rapoport, “the next 24-48 hours are key for increased improvement.”

This implies that there has indeed been some type of spinal-cord injury that has limited full use of his legs, at least for now. Here’s hoping that improvement will continue, and that Shazier will fully and completely recover.

Said G.M. Kevin Colbert early Tuesday: “Ryan’s injury will not require surgery at this time, and he continues to improve. He will stay overnight to continue evaluations with the hopes of returning to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.”

Positive reports on Ryan Shazier tempered by latest news; today crucial

The news is still much better than a worst-case of complete paralysis, but it may not be the best-case scenario after all for Ryan Shazier.

This portends something more ominous than a spinal cord concussion.

It likely means a contusion, and there is some actual injury to the cord.

Certainly, this is no longer a "Tommy Maddox" situation. Maddox suffered a spinal cord concussion in 2002 and missed one game.

A spinal concussion usually goes away quickly, within the first hour.

Some reported movement for Shazier is good news, but the fact that the report does not indicate full movement lends to less optimism.

As Ian Rapoport alluded to, the first 24 hours is most important. The majority of neurologic recovery happens early.

Any residual spinal cord recovery in terms of feeling and movement happens slowly after the first day and improvement can cease altogether.

Let’s hope Shazier’s recovery continues today, and he can walk again.

I cringed when I saw how he turned over and saw his left leg just flop over and not move. Then he flexes his right hand to try to get the feeling back in it. On the replay, you can see him hit first with the crown of his helmet, which is always courting disaster. They teach hockey players about to collide with the boards that you always lift your chin to protect your back/neck. In football, it's "try to put a hat on the ball," which means a tackler lowers his head and risks greater spinal injury.

Be that as it may, I hope he's okay. Brutal sport.

That's generous of you.

"Marginal".  Was feeling generously optimistic(got laid this weekend) that he can elevate his game to borderline NFL player . Now, getting to "mediocre" seems impossible after seeing his play for several weeks.

Still want to accept the first round picks that the X4 cheerleaders said we could get in the  preseason.

[ sarcasm alert on] No other QB this season has thrown a minimum 20 times in a game and had less than 90 yards to show for it.  But Hundley has done it twice.  Way to go Hundley! [sarcasm alert off]

Ju-Ju will come back from his suspension to find out he has been made a linebacker to replace Shazier.    I don't wish for anyone to get hurt.  But there is a small part of me that was glad to see Burfict get what he has been dealing out.  I doubt it changes him in any way, but at least he has something to think about.  That was a physical game all the way thru.

Yes, it did remind me of some of those games, but this one seemed more like simply trying to "kill and hurt" players rather than "hit and if it hurts, bummer." The old GB-CB games were brutal just for hard hits and intensity. This game had intensity, but the hits were on the border of dirty. It was the difference between Burfict and Nitschke/Butkus. Burfict will try to kill you dirty while N/B will try to kill you straight up.
