I know Whitewater Jesus gets no love on this board, but the fact that we kept Shepherd and shipped him away when he was a receiver our QB trusted is just dumb.
What's dumb is lamenting the loss of Jake Kumerow. In the year 2020. Well, any year for that matter. If you are going to miss anything about Kumerow it was his play on the punt coverage team.
You shouldn't be playing either Kumerow or Shephard many snaps at all. The Packers actually chose Devin Funchess over both of them, but he opted out this year. Funchess is very similar to Lazard - a big, physical receiver and probably fit the system pretty well.
Lazard is really the one who cannot get hurt along with 17 - Lazard is a key to the offense
Poor Yelberton
Points for knowing his real first name.
Kummerow and Shepherd dont belong in the NFL.
Putting this here...
@JayGlazer: Scoopage: NFL reinstating Josh Gordon from suspension, eligible to return for last 2 games
Did he aquire the whizinator?
Not a free agent, but posted it here. How many chances does Josh Gordon get? I've lost track of the number of times he's been suspended.
5 times
I'm surprised he hasn't hit lifetime ban status yet??
I read 7 times for Gordon yesterday. I'm not gonna try to verify tho.

I think they surgically attached it to his body.
Weren't his suspensions due to testing positive for pot use? That seems a hill no longer worth defending.

I believe one reason he was suspended (but need to verify it) was he showed up drunk to the drug test.
Yeah, he's very likely a hardcore alcoholic.

Uh-oh, Packers gave Tavon #16 ... thought it had been retired.
Found this PIC of YA lamenting the best #16 since Joe Montana...enjoy :

Keeping Zeke may have helped back when...
I hope Austin can hang onto the ball.
Looks like Swerve is gonna play tomorrow....
Ribs feelin' better after Austin signing, eh?
Jets fired DC Gregg Williams, per source.

Rex Ryan on the Gregg Williams call (via @GetUpESPN): “Dumbest call I’ve ever seen. Been around the thing for 58 years, 30 years as a coach. That’s the dumbest call ever. There’s a time and place for Cover-0. That sure ain’t it. It’s just stupid.” #Jets pic.twitter.com/pvFtL1XgBh

Coming from a guy who has done his share if stupid things...plus he likes feet
For all the people that bitch about the prevent defense, this is a perfect example of why teams use it again and again. The "let's be aggressive" crowd would need to live with some really ugly results like this.

BUT the CB bit on the short route fake and as one commentator said with seconds left and no time outs you give 'em the short stuff if they're foolish enough to take it. Don't let them beat you deep. And that's from high school playing....

It's easy from behind the keyboard, or the teacher's desk as the case may be.

Even if you don't bite you can get beat deep. It was one on one coverage with seconds left in the game. There should have been someone behind him, not extra guys going after the QB.
Fireable offense. And that's what happened.

True.

Bite me. Tony Dungy said the same thing on NBC last night, simple coaching.
With 00:05 left in the game and a TD needed (not a FG), the Jets should have rushed 3, everyone else is back for prevent defense. You should never get beat deep in that situation. Dumb defense all around.
