He can show them the proper way of sitting on the sideline injured for much of the season, such an asset

IR just around the corner.
Every team needs a motivational injured player.
Contract update
Interesting analysis.

That's only about 40 yds/game. I'll take the over on that. That is assuming a full season, but I still like the odds.

Heβll average 40 yards per catch.
Thatβs Kumerow territory.
Close
I would have said Jeff Janis!, but your mileage may vary.
Doesn't he have some dropsies yipping around camp?
Color me shocked.
Doubt he drops as many as MVS
Thanks for the jinx.
@Goalline posted:He promises to only drop the short ones.
There is a way to fix dropped footballs. I learned it from watching movies:
I was reading some stuff on the internet...2 fans arguing about MVS in KC vs Tyreek Hill in KC. And while both WRs are extremely fast, Hill is super quick too
MVS takes a little time to build up speed, Hill is electric from the first step. If you look at the 10 yd splits from the combine, Tyreek Hill ran a 1.49 while MVS recorded a 1.55 Both are screaming fast, but Hill is just more sudden.
Elite sudden-ness.
Then we get to the Packers draft pick: Christian Watson.
A speedster in his own right - running a blistering 4.36 in the 40, same as MVS.
Now look at the 10 yd split for Mr. Watson -> he scorched a 1.45
As soon as this dude learns how to be a pro WR , we're gonna be super stoked with the pick. Till then, he can run go routes and crossers.
I'm pretty sure when the Packer brass looked at those numbers it is no wonder they jumped up to get Watson. If he can do the same thing Hill did in getting open over the middle and then making guys miss he will be a many years pro bowler.
How do you get a 1.28 vertical? They put ankle weights on him?
If I'm reading the above right, Watson is fast and strong, but doesn't/can't change direction very fast, no?
As long as he can catch the ball, I'll take 2 out of 3.
For now.

Watson's shuttle and 3-cone scores were 74th and 66th percentile respectively for all rookie WR's who tested at the combine.
So, well above average, just not elite.
Davante Adams' RAS:
@BrainDed posted:Yup, which makes the Hill comparisons hilarious.
Exactly.
Tyreek Hill is 5'10 and 185
Watson is 6' 5 and 208
If you actually expect their 3 cones to be similar, you're brain ded
To deliver those numbers at scale is fucking remarkable - and that's one way that RAS offers insight across different sized dudes.
Its Relativity, Einstein.

Ask Kiel, he played goalie for a reason...
Watson compares more to MVS than TH, but even at that, I think Watson's ceiling is much higher than MVS. MVS was always mostly a track guy...he made his money in college just using his speed to get behind the DB mostly.
Watson has a much bigger tool kit...he's run out of the flank, the slot and out of the backfield. He's also demonstrated better hands than MVS.
A lot of his early success I believe will fall on 12 to show some patience with him which he'd didn't really do with 17 early on in his career. It probably helped 17 in the long run, but 12 doesn't have 4 years left to play the "tough love," card with Watson. That's not to say don't hold him to a high standard, but refer to page 117 in the Hippie Manual and show a little compassion with the kid.
Hill is just a unique athlete not unlike a guy like Allen Iverson was in basketball. Incredible burst and quickness and unless someone gets in their way to disrupt their movement and direction itβs over.
Watson is just a different player, as is MVS.
Thereβs certainly a lot to be excited about, but I would not put them in the same category regardless of their 3 cone drills. Hill is arguably the scariest WR to defend in the league. Chase is another guy. If Watson comes close to either of those guys this will be a damn good offense.

Relative in the same way that Arron Jones can squat a shit load, but not as strong as Dillion. Two totally different players.
Jeff Janis is a very similar comparison to Christian Watson. Similar size and speed, tremendous overall measurable, played at a small school. Watson is going to be better than Janis was, but that's a pretty low bar.

At 6-foot-4 and with 4.36 speed, to say Watson has a rare skill-set to make that jump would be an understatement. His Relative Athletic Score of 9.96 is all-time great. Then again, Jeff Janis β a seventh-round pick by the Packers in 2014 out of Division II Saginaw Valley State β had a 9.93 RAS. He caught only 17 passes in four seasons with Green Bay.

Tipped well over the bar for sure. Y.A., why the hate?
Looks a bit Dick Fosburyish.
Stats and measurables can be funny at times
Back in 2015, Pat Connaughton posted a 44β vertical leap at the NBA draft combine. At the time, that was the second highest vertical in NBA draft history.
Pat C is a decent player, but heβs not a star player in the NBA like Hill is in the NFL.
