Bisaccia has an assistant that came with him from LV who had been with him for several years. Hopefully that guy stays. Though if Bisaccia got a HC gig I would imagine he would want to pull as many of "his guys" with him.
Finally, some good news from the FO.
Lombardi? Is that Italian? Are we at least getting a draft pick for a minority hire?
The giants will get one if anything because they developed him. Eye-talions are still white though. Still hope he pans out regardless
NFL today said salary cap for next year will be 224.8 million.
Some big cuts/ restructures to do.
According to overthecap.com the Packers current 2023 numbers are:
Aprox Pack cap overage $26,722,593
Anyone have updates on Eric Stokes. Know he had surgery back in November but haven't heard anything of his recovery time.

The NFL informed teams today that the 2023 salary cap will be a record $224.8 million per club, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Thatβs up from $208.2 million in 2022, $182.5M in 2021 (COVID adjustment), 198.2M in 2020 and $188.2M in 2019.

So those brackets ( ) mean the Packers have all that money, right?!?
My guess, as of now, Cobb, Lewis, Amos, Lowry, Lazard and Crosby are gone. Bakh, Kenny Clark and Aaron Jones' contracts get re-worked with money converted to bonuses.
I would guess Gary gets extended, although they may want to time this the same way they did with Jenkins to make sure he looks the way he did pre-ACL. So that means his contract extension wouldn't happen until Novemberish,
I doubt Tonyan gets much attention in FA but you never know. He'd be a good #2 TE, but that whole group needs a retool.

πPackers are currently $22.5M over the cap.
π€At a MINIMUM - They need to clear $35M - $40M to afford their draft, practice squad, and get through the season.

There is some serious band-aid ripping off needing to be done. If Gurt, Ballz and WMM don't see that the franchise's return to greatness will be much more prolonged.
TBF, I think Ballz gets what needs to be done...he's a bean counter. Seldom do they get sentimental at the expense of the bottom line.
WMM is just saying "don't fuck things up until 2025! I've got my golden handshake coming!!!"
Some folks fail to grasp that the next 2.5 years are all about celebrating Mark Murphy and the culture he has instilled in Green Bay before the great man retires.
"My point in all of this is that the Eagles are the anti-Packers, who value continuity above all else. They will hold on to obviously failing players, coaches and GMs for far too long, only making a change when the results are truly disastrous. It's why Ted Thompson was allowed to conduct the draft when he was ill, why McCarthy held onto his job until the Packers became an embarrassment, why Amari Rodgers kept getting thrown out there despite costing the team games, why Aaron Rodgers was given a ridiculous contract, to "stay, please stay," why Joe Barry is coming back in 2023."
Great quote. Telling.

Brinker had done as much work with Russ Ball on the contract/cap side as with the personnel department.
β Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) February 8, 2023
Seemed like he might have been grooming to be the next Ball, but thereβs no indication Ball is getting close to retiring. He just got a contract extension last offseason. https://t.co/UOpaRcaM3B
Well Dallas and SF fans have similar gripes all centered around not getting to and/or winning a Super Bowl. Iβm not excusing FO but we are not alone.
Problem is Packers have not capitalized on their chances and window with Rodgers is closing. But FO on down seems ok with status quo. Do they have fortitude to trade AR? We shall see.
While I wish the best for Rich Bisichia I was heartened to hear Adam Schefter say Indy may be waiting til after SB to tag Philly OC Shane Steichen as their new head coach.
That is good news.

A Cleveland-like model? As in giving a seriously flawed person a 5-year, 100% guaranteed $230 million deal?

I'm wondering if Bakh stays. Depending on what happens to Rodgers, in GB, Bakh could be gone, as well. I think Jones may be gone, too, depending if they can rework his contract, or not.
Not THAT Greg Williams. https://profootballtalk.nbcspo...in-packers/#comments

these articles are all amateur bullshit speculation. where is the real sports journalism these days? sheesh.
and by the way, i agree that joe barry sucks!

lol! the model for the rest of the league!
A resolution: Instead of being released, Aaron Jones will be staying in Green Bay this season after the Packers and his agents, Drew Rosenaus and Ryan Matha, reached agreement on an $11 million salary for the 2023 season that includes an $8.52 million signing bonus. pic.twitter.com/QHIkiqTove

Push money out/add years, or was this a tear up the old and sign new?
DFH
Dark Money
Guessing it's tear up the old, start new...add years and kick the bonus down the road. Good business all around. Unless it's life-changing money or they just don't like where they are, most players want to stay put.
Still though, 33 is probably the best citizen on the team. He's in the same class as Donald Driver...Packer People to the core.
