Z. Smith named as possible trade target for Lions. He's 32, a consistent malcontent and never could set the edge.  F*#k him:

‘I Would Like’ Going to Detroit, Za’Darius Smith Says

Smith has publicly expressed interest in the idea of coming to the Motor City, too.

“That’s a big loss for them,” Smith told The Chronicle in an October 18 interview, when asked about Hutchinson’s injury. “But if I was to go to Detroit, I would like it, because I get to play Green Bay twice a year and the Vikings twice a year. So, yeah, that’ll be big.”

No way the Niners give him a Jordan Love style contract.

It'll be a team friendly deal and Purdy will take it. Watch.

As he should, he has a nice gig out there.  Why take a crummy job if you can avoid it

More money.....however I get a "Jordy Nelson" type vibe from Purdy where Jordy famously said....."How much money do you need??"

And that quote says a lot about Z: it's all about me and getting revenge, not about helping a new team, being excited to be on a SB contender, rejuvenating a career... nope, it's all about me getting revenge. He spells "team" with an "I."

I think I know that answer, though my wife disagrees with me.

Well then.....(Cracks knuckles) I would enjoy Tucker Kraft and/or Zach Tom blocking his washed up ass. Not to mention him causing problems eventually in that Detoilet locker room 😈

Mess. This kid's stint in Indy may be done.

Flacco may be the better QB, against the vikings, Sunday night, anyway.

They were clearly better when he took over. Going back to Richardson was dumb. That guy ain't ready. Let him watch a pro and learn.

Ain't ready?? He's not even going to get a second contract.

The Packers pick up Commanders LB, Jamin Davis, a 2021 First Round Pick....(Text from Youtube post): Jamin Davis played in 50 games for the Washington Commanders, producing 282 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, 7.0 sacks, 6 pass pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 interception. He started 36 games over his 1st 3 seasons but he was released after 5 games this season. The Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn attempted to convert Jamin Davis to edge rusher, but the experiment didn’t last long. The Washington Commanders released him on October 22nd. He cleared waivers and was a free agent pickup for the Green Bay Packers. Jamin Davis produced 1 pressure, and 7 stops 86 snaps at defensive end this season. The Green Bay Packers announced Jamin Davis as their linebacker, suggesting that he’s headed back to his original position here in Green Bay. He’ll get to work behind athletic linebackers such as Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper while learning a new defense under our position coach Anthony Campanile and defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. Jamin Davis has played almost 2,300 total snaps on defense but has limited experience on special teams (49 snaps). He produced 82 stops and 21 pressures and missed only 13 tackles between the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons. While slightly undersized at 234 pounds, Jamin Davis posted elite testing marks in the vertical leap (42”), broad jump (11-0), 40-yard dash (4.48 seconds), and 10-yard split (1.53 seconds). His Relative Athletic Score was 9.93 out of 10.0, making him one of the most athletic linebackers ever and helping fuel his rise up draft boards. Can the Green Bay Packers develop Jamin Davis, an athlete with legitimate NFL experience into a capable option at linebacker in a new scheme? He’ll get a chance. Go Pack Go

Pacheco return week #12??

From Pro Football Talk:

Yes, the Lions and Browns have discussed a potential trade for defensive end Za’Darius Smith. At this point, the expectation is that it’ll be more than talk.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the current expectation is that Smith will be traded to Detroit tonight or tomorrow.

Smith, 32, has played for the Ravens, Packers, and Vikings. He has said he’d welcome a trade to Detroit, since it would allow him to compete directly with two of his former teams.

The Lions lost defensive end Aidan Hutchinson to injury three weeks ago. It’s been believed that they’ll trade for a pass rusher. They haven’t yet. With the deadline coming on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, it could be now or never.

Smith has five sacks in eight games this season. He is playing for the Browns on Sunday, against the Chargers.

A prediction ....

@RapSheet:

Sources: The #Browns are trading standout edge Za'Darius Smith to the #Lions, who add a key presence on the edge to help make up for the loss of Aidan Hutchinson.

It’s Smith and a 2026 7th going to Detroit for a 2025 5th and a 2026 6th. A major move.

This is a big time move by Washington. Weakest spot on the team is their secondary.

@AdamSchefter:  Trade: New Orleans is sending four-time Pro-Bowl CB Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders, per sources.

Saints had multiple teams interested in the 28-year-old CB who still is recovering from a hamstring injury. Commanders’ push is on.

@RapSheet:  Full terms:
-- Saints get: A third, a fourth, and the 6th from the Ridgeway trade.
-- Commanders get: Marshon Lattimore and a 5th
