Nice observation by Tom Silverstein, from his game-day blog today:

Tom, which rookie has impressed you the most this pre-season?
Tom_Silverstein:  Probably Evan Williams. Bullard, too. Williams has made so many plays. Not normal for a rookie. Bullard is going to be interesting. He's tough as nails and competitive as all get out. He's a football players' football player and will add some serious toughness to their secondary.

As I began watching the game vs the Ravens Saturday, I was cursing what preseason has become. Anybody remember the days when the starters played 3 quarters of the last PS game?
I don't advocate for that, although I'd like to see them play for a couple of series or 1 quarter, but that's another subject for discussion.

In any case, as the Ravens game went on, I started liking this new 'format'. Getting extended looks at the young guys, FAs, and others offers these guys a much better evaluation as they would get playing only a quarter or less.

The teams clearly get a lot out of the joint practices. Ravens didn't play their starters either.....and the Ravens win the pre-season games a LOT! Packers punched the bully. The Packers players said we're not letting them come in here and bully us. It was a nice response to the no show we witnessed in Denver. Good warmup for the 1st game vs. Eagles
