@AdamSchefter:  Chicago Bears have sought permission to interview Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and are awaiting a response from Dallas, sources tell me and @toddarcher.

If the Cowboys don’t allow permission this week, the Bears could interview McCarthy after his exclusive negotiating window with Dallas expires Jan. 14.

McCarthy would be out of the frying pan and into the fire, if he left Dallas and went to Chicago.

It's hilarious how Robert Kraft inserted himself into the Brady-Belichick argument, trying to wedge himself into the discussion of who was most responsible for the Patriots success in the 2000's and 2010's. I think we can safely exclude Kraft from that discussion now.

Pederson's fall is fascinating. I thought he was a damn good coach in Philly, winning a Super Bowl with a backup QB.
