Oh boo hoo hoo.

Detroit's offensive line is elite and the skill position talent is at RB, WR, and TE. The Bears have a very good WR receiver room and a good TE, but there is no one like Gibbs for the running game.
But, if the Bears can improve their OL play, they will be a problem.

They probably get another year, but 2026 is when the rubber meets the road for their guys on rookie contracts. There are no critical guys in 2025 they have to resign (maybe Carlton Davis), but Hutchinson, Jameson Williams, and Kerby Joseph all hit free agency after next year and they aren't getting those guys back for a combined 15 million. Hutchinson might be north of 30 million just by himself.
Glen left the Jets interview yesterday without agreeing to become their coach. Perhaps he's having 2nd thoughts on coaching that dysfunctional team? Next up for him is an interview with the Saints, which is delayed due to the snowstorm down their yesterday.

I was just about to type the same thing. But CHI has cap room and draft picks to find a more dynamic runner.
They decided last offseason that for some reason that their OL was fine. Poles knows he needs a big overhaul there this time.
The D also needs work. They were looking really good end of 23 but through injuries and young players not developing, took a dive through 24. Their biggest hole is on the interior DL.
I just saw CW referred to as having a low football IQ on one of the major draft sites. I had only heard the opposite before. Not Manning like but still a strength. I wonder what is behind that comment.
Liam Coen pulls out of 2nd interview with Jacksonville to remain as OC in Tampa. A new contract makes him one of the highest paid OC.
And probably eventual successor

Nope!

Glenn interviewed for a second time with the Jets on Tuesday in Florham Park. He went back to Detroit without agreeing to a deal but the two sides reached an agreement on Wednesday.
So there ya have it
So that is 3 subtractions from the Lions coaching staff. More to follow? Do those leaving beginning to think Meathead ain't so great?
Yep, Jets must have sweetened the deal for Glen, or given him heavy input into who their next GM will be.
Lions will now get two very bottom of the 3rd round picks for losing Glen, one in 2025 and one in 2026.

Doubt it, they had a shot, they took it.
Montgomery was the 3-4 DL coach. Never was responsible for Gary, who was a 3-4 OLB until last year #fakenews https://t.co/bVCZpUWcwB

That picture of Glenn is the same look he'll have when the Jets finish 3-14.

So does being a head coach who will eventually be fired take president over possibly winning a Super Bowl as a assistant. ?

For some. Possibly winning it as a head coach puts them on the road to the HOF. Depends if they think they are head coach material.
Egos and bigger money mean a lot.
Under changes to the NFL's Rooney Rule adopted in November 2020, teams that lose minority assistants to head-coaching positions with other teams receive two compensatory draft picks.
The picks are slotted at the end of the third round, after other compensatory choices are awarded, and come in consecutive years.
In Glenn's case, the Lions will receive extra third-round picks in 2025-26, with the exact slot to be determined later this spring
That's what I said two hours ago, try to keep up.

Bears are a pretty hot roster mess. But they have Williams and Odunze, 10 draft picks and a huge mint to spend in FA. Their current OL, DL, RB, CB positions suck. Itâs a 2-3 year project but they get a few good hits they are a problem again. And Iâm down with it. The North is better when GB & Chicago are fighting for the division.
Bye the way the Packers are a roster mess as well in need of work.
Who knows if the Bears new HC is going to be successful, but it seems to me when guys in our division arrive and announce their goal is to beat the Packers or beating them six times is not usually a good sign for them. We'll see but that is focusing on the wrong thing. They have a lot to work with but fixing Willaims and that Oline has to be #1 and 1A. I hope he doesn't but I do hope he rapes the Lions staff.

I can hear the cliches, rolling out of MLF's mouth, trying to respond to Ben Johnson's remarks. " I'll have to dig down deep, to come up with new ways to win" or something like that. I believe it is more imperative, than ever, to sweep the North, next season. It won't be easy, but it must be done.
It is an "interesting" approach for Johnson to call out LaFleur. LaFleur is almost obsequious when he talks about opposing teams/coaches. We'll see how things play out next season.
It really makes no difference.
How to move on from an overpriced ST's coach who hasn't done much to improve the unit?

If it happens, guaranteed it will just after someone else hires Darren Rizzi, and every other possible upgrade.

Their trio of DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Odunze is better than anything we have. I don't know what Allen's plans are for 25 though. Jaylon Johnson is an all-pro CB and Stevenson was looking really good until he karma'd himself off the starters list. But yeah, GB has at least as many roster deficiencies.
BJ is taking shots at GB to buy himself some favor with the fan base. The only thing I found a little odd is he didn't say he enjoyed "beating GB" instead of beating MLF. Makes it more about him than the teams. All I know is chicago sports media is in a weeklong victory parade right now, FWIW.
