Chip Kelly must still be loved in Oregon. The Eugene area is showing Philly vs. Washington while virtually all of the country west of the Mississippi River is showing Giants vs. Buffalo.

Can someone with access to advanced stats tell us what % of Rodgers passes have come from outside the pocket?  I'm guessing 50% or more and I don't recall any designed roll outs yet.    Long story short, the tackles are not playing well and Rodgers is covering it up.

That just doesn't wash. Rodgers was sacked a record 55 times in 2012, which included playoffs, record 51 regular season. Broke his previous record of 50 in 2009.

Like it or not, Barclay has played well against great competition in facing SEA and KC to keep Rodgers clean. Zero hits, zero sacks.

He's done some nice work there as has the rest of our OL. Hope they keep it up against SF.

Compared to what we saw from Barclay in the preseason, gotta be thrilled with his effort so far. He's gone against very good defensive fronts in Seattle and KC. Is he getting help and does Rodgers mobility and pocket savvy make his job easier? Yeah. Rodgers is pretty good.

From McGinn 's Article on grading the Chief game :

Mike McCarthy, Tom Clements and Aaron Rodgers did everything they could to protect Don Barclay against Justin Houston and David Bakhtiari against Tamba Hali. The fact Barclay allowed one-half sack (to Hali) and Bakhtiari didn't allow any was a victory in itself. Barclay is back to being the player he was in 2012-'13. He moves OK, never quits, stays focused and uses his massive hands (107/8 inches) to steer elite rushers just wide enough. Houston walked Barclay back with big bull rushes for two pressures, but only once did he knock him off his feet. Of the 13 "bad" runs, the unit was charged with 10. Barclay had 5 ½, including 2 ½ when he was unable to cut off rampaging DT Jaye Howard on the backside and two partials at the point against Houston.

I would like to put forth this proposal.

Sit Perry's ass and let Jayrone play!   The guy is not only an ST stud, but in his few defensive plays he's made big plays!

Perry?  Meh.   Sick and tired of seeing Mr. Moneybags on the field and Mr. Lunchpail on the bench!  Come on, Man!

I was very, very skeptical of Nick Perry's play for a few years. He's shown to be playing his best football right now. I like seeing him progress, but I do like Elliott quite a lot. He is really disruptive. Nice depth there for a change.

If they are both playing well, platooning them there doesn't suck. Both stay fresh.

And preferably we like our tangibles to be delivered in drunken Irish.

They are playing well enough.  He is "moving" more than "scrambling," IMO.  There's a difference.

They are playing well enough.  Barclay is Barclay, he's not a starter so him treading water against a couple of teams with great pass rush is dandy.  But the real story is Lang, Sitton and Linsley being absolute road graders and stoning the hell out of everything in the middle.  That doesn't happen and Rodgers can't use his mobility to cover up both LTs very average play to this point.

Barclay is a great backup and he plays like it.  Bak, I expect to hear some report after the season that he was playing with some injury most of the time.  Maybe he'll get healed up and get it back together but he's looking pretty damn average right now.

Yeah, that interior line play is probably the best in the NFL. Bakhtiari has given up 2 sacks, 1 hit and 10 hurries. Barclay gave up 10 hurries against SEA and another 5 against KC, with no hits nor sacks.

They are playing pretty well considering the circumstances. Aaron's mobility is probably the best in the NFL as well. If they can keep it together we could be in for something pretty special through the end of the season.

Rodgers is definitely mobile but I think the discussion really should be about his overall command of the game.  He doesn't flush and run at the drop of hat like moron QBs like Wilson and Squidward.  He holds his presence and delivers the play.

We are seeing one of the best tacticians of the game right now.  He is absolutely brilliant at times in how he positions himself mentally and physically in opening up this offense.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy wouldn't rule out injured wide receiver Davante Adams playing against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, but he didn't hold out much hope either.

"Slight," said McCarthy on Friday during his final press conference in advance the upcoming game. "He’s going to have to jump around tomorrow, jump through some hoops, so we’ll see how it goes."

Adams is dealing with an ankle sprain originally injured in a Week 2 contest against the Seattle Seahawks and aggravated on Monday when facing the Kansas City Chiefs. He has yet to practice this week.

As for safety Morgan Burnett, whose status is similarly up in the air, McCarthy would only say, "He’s getting better. He’s definitely closer."

The Packers coach added that all players except offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga would travel to San Francisco 49ers, giving them at least a chance of participating in the upcoming game.

Surprised Devante is even being considered to play. It sounded like he would be out a couple weeks. Better news on Burnett. The Packers shouldn't need either player for this week. Rest these guys up and get them healthy.

I think MM wants to close out the first quarter accomplishing the unattainable goal - perfection.

My concern this week is miscues. Turnovers & stupid penalties.

“Gentlemen, we will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence.”

Funny you mention that- but the Packers really had Steve Youngs' number for a few years. GB beat him repeatedly, it wasn't until the T.O. catch that Young finally beat GB

Young was 1-4 vs GB in the playoffs, and that one was both the Rice Fumbled  !  game and the TO catch game. ( Sharper sucks)

MM said the theme for this week is RESPOND

How will they respond to a short week ?

How will they respond to travel ? Heat ?

How will they respond to facing a wounded and motivated team ?

How will they respond to winning 3 in a row ?

Cool Q&A with The Rock that includes MM talking about interviewing with stone- face Ted.

Is it possible to get WI stations with a big roof antenna in NW Wisconsin? Raiders fans around here used to pick up the neighboring TV market's CBS affiliate during the days of blackouts. I'd be pretty damn angry too if I had to pay for Sunday Ticket to see the Packers in Wisconsin.

On the other hand, probably the only Sunday afternoon game the panhandle will get all year. I am thankful.

Lots of 49er fans in Utah, so I'm surprised they're not on here.  Niners are so bad this year the casual fans (and local TV stations) don't expect a competitive game.

Amen.   I'm on that list!
