Doesn't have his new contract yet, every ball is $$ saved for now.
The reason AR doesn't have a contract yet is that the Packer printing presses are busy printing the money they will need for the signing bonus. I would give it a couple more months of uninterrupted printing.

Rodgers want's another Lombardi far more than we do.
You underestimate my ability to "want" another Lombardi
The only 2 things I know for certain about ARs pending contract are:
1) He will get one.
2) I will wish a small portion of it were mine.

So are you saying AR doesn't actually care if he gets another Lombardi?
I would say he cares, but likely less than much of Packers fans.

Disagree.

Sound analysis.
1 more chip added to shoulder
Worst thing opposing DC's want to face is a Championship Motivated Aaron Rodgers
This. Itâs esentially Rodgers betting hard on Rodgers.

Why, oh why, can't there be more Andrew Brandts and less Mike Florios or Peter Kings in sports "journalism"?
They're too busy being employed in the NFL.

I would not want to bet against AR. His track record says I would lose.
I'm not sure if there's ever been this much anticipation about a contract extension. It seems like every two weeks we're being told it's moving. Should we start a pool on the final numbers?
5 additional years
$175 million of additional money
$80 million guaranteed
Total Contract: $216 million over 7 years with $121 million guaranteed
I'll play. How wrong can I be?
5 additional years
$160 million of additional money
$70 million guaranteed
Total Contract: $201 million over 7 years with $105 million guaranteed
I agree with those who say this will be a very different kind of contract. The one thing about Rodgers previous statement about negotiations was giving the team, not him, "more freedom". There would have to be a sliding scale in there somewhere.
Meh, reading that article it seems a bit click baity.
5 additional years
$165 million new money
$90 million guaranteed.
He must break up with Danica if he throws more than 8 picks in any year during the contract.
Someone else will fall to his lap
I'm curious as well if they will be able to get away with doing something unique with this contract. Andrew Brandt seemed skeptical that the NFL would allow anything outside the box and if Rodgers is insistent there be something unique (doubt it) then this process will draw out longer. Rodgers is very business focused it seems, so I'm sure the part they're stuck on is guaranteed $'s.

Packers and Aaron Rodgers are expected to complete their record-breaking extension by the end of the weekend, source tells ESPN. But the deal is expected to now be finalized and in place before the start of the regular season, per source.

Go Gute Go!
lol sure Aaron missed practice on Monday due to illness. IMO they were hammering through the deal.
EDIT: Schefter adds that this deal, expected to be the largest in NFL history, "will be well beyond the two years remaining on his contract and quite likely for the remainder of his career".
JJ with some of the details:
@89JonesNTAF: BREAKING The Packers and 2-Time MVP Aaron Rodgers have agreed to terms on a 4-year extension worth $33.5 million in new money... plus incentives per year... He gets over $100 million in guarantees.
The #Packers and QB Aaron Rodgers have agreed to terms on a 4-year extension worth $134M, source said. He gets more than $80M by March. A huge first year payout for their star

Under contract for another 6 years now. He will be 42 40 years old in the last year.
Packer for life.
It only would have been more expensive the longer they waited.
Well done 1265 and 12.
Looks like a massively front loaded deal that will allow the Packers to then be active in FA once the big initial pay out is done.
80 million paid by March is whatâs being reported.
He's now on a 6 year, $201 million deal. That's less than I expected. Very happy with that.
EDIT:
Aaron Rodgers new deal with the Packers will be worth $176 million to $180 million total, per source. Big feature is cash flow: $67m before end of calendar, over $80m before St. Patrickâs Day next year, $103m practically guaranteed, per source.

Very interested to see the cap ramifications of this deal because truly if there was a glimmer of hope for acquiring Khalil Mack it would reside in the structure of AR's contract. They couldn't even think about Mack (or anyone really) until they knew for sure what the final numbers of this deal would be.
Sounds good to me........happy for him, and the Packers
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is signing his name to his 4-year contract extension as we speak and when he does, heâll net a $57.5M signing bonus. By the end of 2018, thanks to his $134M extension, Rodgers gets $66.9M.

Aaron deserves every Penny he gets.
Congratulations to a great, great Packer.

This is a little more than $30/year. BIG TIME $.
#Packers will have to dig into their reserve fund to pay Rodgers that much cash since they've never cleared that much profit in one year. Also, they have to put whatever guaranteed money there is beyond the signing bonus in an escrow account. So, they're handing over big $$$$. https://t.co/hnTAtO9B3N

Almost literally emptying the safe for their star player. May need to have another stock sale to replenish the losses!
