Only?  A player is more than sack numbers.

Also I would kill to have a consistent 10 sacks per year in GB.

Can you watch the Packers in Prison?

Of course he can.  He would be prisoner number 10 in cell number 10 watching channel number 10.  Sounds like a top 10 life to me.

Heard S A Smith this morning say something like this,  how many times have you seen a Packer loss and after the game was over did you think that the Packers lost because of AR?  He said never , I seem to recall  that there were a couple in 2008 but after that he's right.  Never.

Didn't he have a horrid game in Week 16 last year?

He was definitely still injured in that game. Also the D gave up 31 points and gave up the famous "Wheel Route" play that Clay Matthews saw coming a mile away, so even then I don't think there's any cause to say the game was lost by AR even with the INTs.

Plays like this are why Josh Jones isn't on the field more and Joe Thomas is no longer employed in GB I think.

26 for 45, 3 TD's, 3 ints after not playing for 2 months, perhaps not 100%, at Carolina, a playoff team.  I agree not his best but certainly not the reason they lost.

At least one of those (if not 2) were throws where he had a guy open and didn't get enough on the ball. He just didn't have his normal arm strength.

More importantly, has Rodgers ever been the reason they've lost a playoff game? He's had games where he hasn't been otherworldly, but not where he's ever stunk things up. Favre singlehandedly ended about 3 seasons for GB in the playoffs. I don't count the fumble in OT in 2009 where Rodgers was getting his face mask ripped off as a failure (especially since he threw for 423 yards and 4 TDs). Rodgers has thrown 10 interceptions in 16 playoff starts. Favre threw 6 in one playoff game.

2016 season - unless he was gong to cover Julio Jones it wouldn't have mattered. Atlanta put up 44 and probably could have hung 70 on them if they'd have stayed focused.

2015 season - Rodgers throws what might be two of the best hail mary post-season passes in NFL history on the same drive to tie the game at the end of regulation and never gets the ball back.

2014. Seattle NFCC. Tens of thousands of posts about this, but it's often forgotten that Rodgers was not even close to 100% with the calf injury. He still bailed them out by driving to force OT and then never getting the ball back.

2013. San Francisco. Dom prevents Kaepernick from completely dominating them, but still can't stop him running for first downs on a crucial drive. After pulling GB into a tie, Rodgers never gets the ball back.

2012. Dom Capers makes Kaepernick a superstar.

2011. The game where Joe Philbins son's death came during the week (NY Giants). Rodgers throws an interception on his last pass down 37-20 to make otherwise decent stats a little worse.

2010. Dom's defense actually stops people.

2009. The face mask game.

Henry is right. Dom Capers sucked. One of the best QBs in NFL history has more rings if he doesn't lose 4 playoff games where the defense gave up 51, 37, 45, and 44. GB averaged almost 30 points in those games. Has any other superstar QB ever played with a defense that consistently did that?

This sums up the whole argument pretty well regarding DC/GBD.  Granted there is no telling what would have transpired in each of those years' SB but the playoff losses seem to point to one glaring problem.

Fantastic news. Apparently they needed to get Huntley’s huge contract out of the way first.

Maybe AR wouldn't  commit if BH was on the team.

He hates competition.

2009. Cardinals scored 51 on Green Bay and then 14 the next week at New Orleans.

2011. Giants scored 37 on Green Bay and then 20 on the Niners and 21 on the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

2012. Niners put up 45 on Green Bay and then score 28 and 31 in their following two playoff games.

2016. Falcons put up 44 on Green Bay and then score 28 against the Pats in the Super Bowl.

So these teams put up average of 44 on Green Bay and averaged 24 for their 6 total subsequent playoff games that year.

I wonder if we'll ever know the effect that hit had on him in the EZ after running it in early in the game.  Slight concussion?  Jacked shoulder?

Either way he stayed in the game.  Cutler stubbed his toe and went to the bench pouting for the rest of the game.

Seeing what the Packers dropped/are dropping in cash to AR and what the Rams are dropping for Aaron Donald, there's zero chance GB could afford Khalil Mack. I'm guessing Mack's contract demands, based on Donald (who deserves more than Mack) and Von Miller got, are maybe 6 years, $120 million with $80 million guaranteed and maybe $50 million in signing bonus. GB would have to have an emergency stock sale to afford to turn around and pay $50 million in SB to Mack with what they're paying AR over the next 8 months.

I think GB can pull it off and it would probably work out... that’s just a ton of money to invest in two players though.  If you lose CM and Cobb after next season that pretty much makes the salaries a wash.

I’m okay either way.

Packer fans know more than anybody how the addition of one defensive stud can transform a franchise.  I’m not sure if Mack fits that mold, but he’s pretty damn close in today’s game.
