When MM was hired I thought it was a mistake. This is why I don't run an NFL team.

I remember the hire of M3 as why did they hire the OC of two bad teams as well as the QB coach Rhodes hired? I thought how can than this guy run a team when Favre already has most likely controlled him. Not gonna say I was was wrong...'cause I was open....but I guess I never suspected him to be talked about like he has been...

I remember in pre-season of 2006 watching the Packers under their new coach Mike McCarthy getting absolutely destroyed by the Cinncinati Bengals. At that point, I believed the Packers would end up as the worst team in the NFL and that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy would both be looked at the way Forrest Gregg, Lindy Infante, etc. were looked at only worse. They finished that 2006 season much better than I thought at 8-8, but I still didn't think much of either of them.

Then came 2007 and I started to think maybe these guys were way better than I realized. After 2008 the doubts crept back in. After the Tampa game in 2009, I once again was convinced the Pack was about to collapse and either Thompson or McCarthy or both would be gone.

Since that point, the Pack has made the playoffs 2 consecutive years, gone 17-7 in the regular season, 4-1 in the playoffs and won its 1st Super Bowl in 13 years. Quite frankly, this season was the Packers greatest accomplishment in my lifetime. The Super Bowl XXXI team may have been better, but this team had far far more adversity to overcome than that team did. That made this all the more special.

To Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy, you will now have streets in Green Bay named after you (at least you should), and most importantly I WAS WRONG TO HAVE EVER DOUBTED YOU!!! Congratulations on the most amazing Packer season in my lifetime. (When I say "my lifetime", I was conceived during the 1968 season and born just before the 1969 season so I missed all the Lombardi years by a smidgen).

4 playoff game predictions and I got them wrong all F-O-U-R times.

Your predictions were fantastic & beautiful.

You think about all the frustration that this team and we as fans have put up with over the last several years. From the horrific 2007 playoff loss to the Giants, to Favre's drama queen antics the following year, to a kick in the nads loss to the Cardinals last year (and all of Brent's success in MN), to validation this year- with all the injuries.

People say there's no such thing as karma- but Big Ben sure looked off and Brent came back down to earth this year.

I'm just glad we have Rodgers and TT- two favorite whipping boys of the media over the years. They truly got the last laugh today as did McCarthy- who just never seems to get enough credit.

As much as I admired Mike Holmgren you now have to mention MM in the same sentence- SB Champs.

I was wrong to not wear the same Packer shirt I had been wearing for the last 4 games. Instead I wore my "Ice Bowl" tee-shirt.

However I fixed that at the end of the 3rd quarter, but ditching the tee and putting the other shirt on. And we all know about the first play of the 4th quarter.

I was wrong to mess with the streak.

But that is not what I am talking about. Many here (present company included) felt Bush shouldn't even be wearing Green and Gold. His play was one of the few bright spots on special teams this year.

I admit that I was wrong about Bush - he can play ST very well. Prior to this season I believed he was completely useless because he was not ball aware and seemed to lack a certain football IQ. He proved me wrong on ST.

now, I give him props for the INT, but I still don't like him playing DB... but he pulled thru well enough to bring Lombardi home so my hat's off to him today.

I was thinking that the Packers lack of a running game earlier in the year seemed to set them up pretty well for this game. If you gameplan to run on the Steelers you will not have much success, but they can be beaten by the pass. I think the emergence of Starks helped this team get to the Super Bowl but the game against the Steelers played right into the Packers strength. I will say that I think Starks also had a great game last night and is a strong rb and I think next year he is going to be a beast with a full offseason healthy to prepare. The Packers can play any style of game which is what makes them so impresive.

Let me be clear, I'm talking about having Starks from the point that he emerged at the end of the season. Not just the Super Bowl. Starks brought the running game enough respect from opposing defenses to get us there. The game plan to go after the Steelers 3rd and 4th and CB's was the right one. IMO BJax does not duplicate the performance by Starks. He doesn't have the speed or the vision. In fact, I doubt BJax will be on the roster next season. (if there is one) That said - props to Jackson on a solid playoffs, with a couple of key 3rd down catches out of the backfield and a couple of key blitz pick-ups as well.

jackson is one guy they have to keep. He is way too valuable on 3rd downs. Get rid of the fullbacks logjam if need be.

This an admit you were rong thread. So just admit this is rong.

I think Grant returns and Starks takes over BJax's role and we won't miss a beat. It might depend on how expensive BJax is and if he's willing to come back as a third string RB. I'm sure TT wouldn't mind saving a draft pick, especially if James Jones decides to move on.
