Thank goodness Kiel doesn't have to kill me.  I think it would take a long time to be slapped to death by a girl.  

 

Chryst fine-tuned a Super Bowl-winning QB and oversaw easily the most explosive offense I've ever seen at UW.

We sure do have a lot of Platteville alums around here. 

I just wish Wisconsin could get a good signal caller aside from a graduate transfer one of these years. I have to admit I didn't see Tolzien or Sorgi becoming rosterable NFL QBs during their college days as they didn't really show it in Madison. 

Same here with Bollinger and Sorgi.  I would put Tolzien on that list as well.  I never even considered the possibility that he'd be on an NFL roster.

You didn't know that his dad George coached football at UWP? I think he retired shortly before we started.

Actually, he was the football coach until 1992. My old man memory kicked in.

George Chryst was a former Wisconsin Badger football assistant himself, became UW-Platteville's head coach in 1979 and athletic director in 1981. He guided the Pioneers to a 79-60-2 record, with a Wisconsin State University Conference championship in 1980 before his sudden death in 1992.  He was the athletic director in Platteville that hired Bo Ryan.  Chryst was also responsible for coaxing the Chicago Bears to move their training camp to Platteville's campus in 1984. If you go on the UWP websight and click on facilities you can find a link on the new George Chryst football complex that is being built.  His son Geep is the quarterback coach of the San Francisco 49ers, helping them to the Super Bowl after the 2012 season.

Or not apparently. Alvarez has had both his FB coach hires bail on him unexpectedly. Stunned, shocked, had know idea this was coming were some of the comments he made regarding both Bielema and Anderson after they bolted. Either Alvarez is slipping or he's lying.

I was wondering if there was a buyout clause in GA's contract, but I haven't heard anything.

Had Lee Deramus not had that severely broken leg, I think he would've had a long NFL career. He was never the same after that.

I'm not back there anymore, but from everything I hear about him he's very popular with the people.  (won the Governership, won the recall election, the got re-elected).  He's very popular in Wisconsin and the country has taken notice what he's done for the state's economy.

 

Doesn't getting re-elected mean that everyone loves you and believes in your policies?

Hope they get Chryst.  The guy was a mad scientist as an offensive coordinator and his assistants at Pitt can help the program as well especially in the Midwest

Bart Houston I seem to recall him committing to UW while Chryst was still around.   When he left I thought Houston was gonzo but he stuck around anyway.

Austin Kafenzis - not so much I would think.  He's a Utah guy and Anderson type QB

Gary anderson is a dick. Well below a penis. Was in over his head. Barry swung and missed on this one. Hopefully Barry can find a coach that understands what it takes to play Big 10(14) football.

This may be a pipe dream, but if things don' t work  out for Chryst's nephew st Stanford. Also, Chryst's wife is from Platteville, so she has family in the area.
