I guess it depends on how you define bulletproof when it comes to roster spots. To me that means you won't be replaced as a start no matter what...Aaron Rodgers will never be unseated, neither will CM3 regardless of how they perform. Can you honestly say that if Bahktiari were having a rough stretch of games that the Packers wouldn't consider benching him? I think if he started sucking then there would be talking of moving Bulaga back over. To me that's not bulletproof.

Really, it comes down to your definition of bulletproof.  If someone gets shot and the bullet just shatters and does no damage to that person, that seems to be bulletproof.  However, if someone gets shot and the bullet leaves a mark but does not seriously injure someone, is that necessarily bulletproof?

What about those bulletproof windows you see in gas stations in the ghettos?  I've heard that when someone shoots one of those, the window has to be replaced because it shatters internally.  However, the bullet does not go all the way through the window and the clerk is safe.  Is that necessarily bulletproof?  It stops the bullet but still gets shattered.

I'd like much more discussion of this stupid tangent.  Please proceed.

My point is, Bakhtiari isn't getting cut. Not unless he's dead. Even if he performs like Marshall Newhouse during the season (which he won't).

I think we both can come up with 40 players that are pretty much locks to make the opening day roster (or possibly IR ) including our first 3 or 4 draft picks.

He'd have to murder Aaron Rodgers while sporting Tom Brady's Kentucky Derby haircut.

Oh, the reason for the discussion.

I'm going for the unorthodox pick, Calvin Pryor, safety, Louisville. Pretty big hitter, and we need a a physical playmaker that can help in pass coverage, or creep up and whack somebody breaking through the box. There's a good chance the Bears look at him, though, and they pick before us. And Clinton-Dix will be long gone.

Really, I'd be happy with offensive line help, a middle linebacker, a safety, a tight end, or a stud wide receiver. Or a cornerback.

I trust Ted will make a wise decision.

I'm hoping TT has a trade back opportunity (say, if there is a run on WR's or QB's).  If this is truly a deep draft, then having two second rounders and picking up another third(?) would be outstanding.

I'm changing my call. I'm going with the 6'7" 330lb slob out of 'Bama. Cyrus the Virus. He's Green Bay's RT for the next decade.

CJ Mosley, I wish you nothing but the best. I really do. Unless you end up in Minny or Chicago. Then you can eff off.

7 hours out, my gut says Shazier. Checks all of Ted's R1 boxes:

  • Front 7 player
  • Measurables you can't find after R1
  • Productive college career at a big-time program
  • Father's a pastor, built strength and character dealing with alopecia

I'm with you on that. A lot of mocks have us taking Pryor or Mosley but I think they'll be gone at 21 and besides, Shazier has a little better speed than Mosley, he'll do a nice job containing Kaperwhatever and a few other running QB's.

My final Mock. These days, I'm a Finding AR's backup/replacement fan first.

Who do you like on the 5-tech side ? Maybe a Daquan Jones in the 3rd ?

Outside of Tuitt, you have to look at maybe a Kony Ealy...but he's not going to make it to the 3rd round...and he's kind of a tweener...I mean he might be an OLB, or possibly a DE on the other side in a 3-4...but if you can add some weight and coach him up...possibly.

Daquan Jones I believe is only going to be an inside guy playing straight up head to head...but possibly a down the road replacement for Raji.

Love Jeffrey Pagan out of Bama...he's got some injury history, which has caused him to drop...but he's the 2nd coming of Cullen Jenkins IMHO.

Another guy I like a lot is Taylor Hart out of Oregon...he reminds me a ton of Margus Hunt out of TCU last year.

Seems like a lot of Bama guys come into the league with an injury history tag hanging off of them.  Saban must run those dudes into the ground.

Football's Future had them rated as:  Taylor Hart then Tuitt then Jones as part of their Tier 4players

Other places I've seen Tuitt rated much higher than the other two guys

Given the limited snaps, 3rd round or later seems to make sense. And if GB sees any value in Jolly - he's on the PUP to start the season, keeping him on ice until November and opening up a spot for a young drafted guy to get some reps
