Green Bay cut S Charles Clay, CB Antonio Dennard, WR Chris Harper, LB Korey Jones, FB Ina Liaina, QB Chase Rettig, and WR Gerrard Sheppard.

Bears cut former Seahawks' WR Greg Herd, along with former Cardinal S Adrian Wilson and RB Michael Ford, WR Kofi Hughes, OT Joe Long, CB Derricus Purdy, CB Peyton Thompson, DT Nate Collins, OL Dylan Gandy. Kofi Hughes might be a guy to monitor.

Eagles cut TE Blake Annen, another SPARQ'd up athlete that ran a 4.41 at 6'5, 250 during the draft process. The Seahawks may give him a look. Mattes, WR Eric Page, WR Tommy Streeter, DE Chaz Sutton, QB Alex Tanney, and FB Ian Thompson. The 6'5, 219 pound Streeter is possibly a guy to monitor as a former workout warrior that ran a 4.37 back in 2012.

Panthers cut WR Tiquan Underwood, WR Toney Clemons, P Jordan Gay, DT Linden Gaydosh, DE Alex Hall, OT Oscar Johnson, WR Marvin McNutt, LB Anthony Morales, WR Kealoha Pilares, and DE Craig Roh.

Jags cut CB Mike Harris, WR Ramses Barden, LB Allen Bradford, G Antoine Caldwell, LB Josh Hull, RB Harvey Unga, S Joe Young, C Patrick Lewis, DT David Carter, LS Charley Hughlett, and WR Kenny Shaw. Bradford is a former Seahawk and he might be someone to keep an eye on.

Unga, and RB Ronnie Wingo. Wingo might be a guy to keep an eye on, and Branch could be a player the Seahawks bring in if they see any major injuries to Tony McDaniel or Kevin Williams.

Gurley will be looking for his ninth NFL team in four years.

The first day of cuts are the Olympic's of "Is he White, African American, or Redskin?"

Just a very special day.

Adrian Robinson?

Conner Vernon?

Cam White?

Nu'Keese "Oil Can" Richardson?

The Seahawks brought in veteran offensive lineman Wade Smith to possibly add depth up front, but Smith was expendable when the team saw good things from Stephen Schilling, who has played guard and center. CB Terrell Thomas, a seven-year NFL veteran who played for Carroll at USC, may catch on with another team.

Wonder if the Packers would bring in Smith for depth.

Vic, can you please explain the IR process? I know all teams stash players on IR, but it seems like a loophole. Are there no regulations to this?

A player must have a six-week injury to be placed on IR all year. If you place a player on IR with a five-week injury, the club must release him when he is healthy (regardless of whether or not the injury takes six or more weeks to heal). When placing a player on IR, the club must include the prognosis for how long the injury will last. The NFL may have a neutral doctor evaluate the player to verify the length of the injury.

@TomSilverstein: First #Packers cut I've heard is CB Ryan White. Had a decent camp and should be practice squad candidate.

@TomSilverstein: Am told that #Packers RB Michael Hill has been released and they are going with 3 RBs and a FB.

@TomSilverstein: You can assume those 4 #Packers RBs are Lacy, Starks, Harris and Kuhn.

@RobDemovsky: #Packers also have released T John Fullington.

I think TT and the boys keep zzzzzzzzzzzz.  He's proven to be capable this preseason, has a stronger arm and more upside.  Flynn has the history, but has a weak arm for even a college QB and isn't getting any better.  Arrow points up for one and down for another.  Easy choice.

I see it this way. If they cut Tolzien he may make it to the PS for a while.  But when some other teams QB goes down and they need another one, Tolzien could be plucked from the PS then.  I guess the Packers could always put him on the 53 then but that would require a cut or a player going on IR.

Not sure the same could be said for Flynn. He may be there anytime the Packers could need him.
