OK Viqueens, now its time to rally around your interim coach and start winning. If you could please beat the Bears, Giants, and Eagles, that would be great. I am a Vikings fan for the rest of the year. Not only does a good winning steak help the Packers, it also keeps the queens from getting a lower draft pick

Ahhh a refreshing "shot in the rib cage"! Putz!

Relieved of coaching duties....doesn't say he won't be picking up or keeping other duties within the organization. Would have much rather seen the presser say F-I-R-E-D! (Hope that spells it out for ya...door knob!

Hopefully, they keep him in the Queens draft room for the full-length of his contract.
This was bound to happen eventually, so at least it happens after the Packers beat them both time this year.

Regarding Frazier, I don't see why anyone would be worried. Other than Ray Edwards, who has he really developed on that defense? The majority of players were veterans when they came to the Vikings or were first round picks (Henderson was a second round pick but I believe he slipped due to injury concerns, not talent). You can't count on your entire team being high draft picks and free agents, at some point you need to develop 4th-7th round picks (and undrafted guys). The Packers do that well and it shows. They get an injury (or ten) and they can plug a guy in and still play well. The Vikings can't do that. They lose Griffin and there pass defense becomes a joke. They lose Hererra and all of a sudden they can't run. Rice is out for 9 games and the passing game is anemic. The difficulties in developing talent wasn't Childress' fault alone; it's the entire coaching staff, Frazier included.

once brett finally quits, maybe they can trade for vince young. i hear he's available!

lmao!

Funny you say that, someone already suggested the Vikes trade Favre to Tennessee for Moss.
I have heard from at least two sources that this was coming before the Packer game, and Zygi was just waiting to see how this game played out. Rumblings inside the organization were that Chilly had "lost" this team, and that the "playoffs" were out of reach. There is more to this story that I can't tell you because my source asked me not to, but I will tell you that it is juicy.

Ka-Bong.....Ya can't leave me hangin like that!!!!! I need more!!!
Childress sealed his fate when he begged Favre to play for the Vikings halfway through training camp in '09. I think that was the point that he lost whatever credibility he had left with his players.

I wonder if Childress will be hired by Andy Reid as an assistant. Reid re-hired Mornhinweg following Marty's failure in Detroit. Has any Reid assistant found success after leaving the Eagles other than Steve Spagnuolo as a defensive coordinator?
For what it's worth, I would guess that every press release announcing such a move explains the action as "relieved of his duties." The deal usually is that whatever news source gets the exclusive does so with the understanding they will use that language.

It's trickier now with blogs and twitter breaking more news than anyone and playing by their own rules.
Now we get to wait to what happens to Farve. TOG has 6 million still on the talbe for the rest of the season I do not think he is willing to give that up.
At first blush I think Fraizer to establish control will have do something with Farve. But if all they want to do is get the season over maybe they let him run the team for the rest of the season.

Heck I am reposting the link to this cartoon, the ending is right on.

It took awhile, but Childress and company FINALLY get pay back for the unpunished tampering with Favre. Why didn't the league use their special forensic cell phone technique during that investigation??

Don't feel bad for Chilly. From a tweet - Lost in the shuffle of Coach Brad Childress being fired is that he signed an extension through 2013 last season when the team started 8-1. There is a buyout, reported to be around $8 million, that Zygi Wilf must now fork over to Childress. Vikings RapidReports
I have heard Wilde say this sveral times. But MM had to say something nice, after stomping his team into the ground.

.So the Packers have now sent Wade Phillips and Brad Childress into unemployment. I know McCarthy and Chilly weren't exactly pals ...

I could be wrong, but wasn't Spagnuolo a Giants/Coughlin assistant?

Maybe that's why MM only acknowledged feeling bad for Chilly's family.
One good thing that comes out of this firing is that maybe Minnesota will play better with a new coach. They play the Bears, Giants, and Eagles. As much as I hate the Vikings, I will be rooting for them against those teams, but they probably will pack it in. Did anyone see how a few players actually has smiles on there face when they were getting their ass handed to them?
