I do recall three Super Bowl appearances and two wins.

Anyway, all this rumor is based upon is the NFL Network special on him and him leaving the door open at the end of it and the Wilf's Jersey connection.

His resume with amazing and quick rebuilding projects (see NE, NY, Dallas and Miami) is impressive but I would be hesitant to hitch my wagon to him unless he brought an assistant with him to take over when he decides to bail. Which he will do sooner than later.
Parcells knows NFL talent, but he hasn't gone to the Super Bowl since 1996 when the Packers sent his Patriots home without a ring. That said, he will be an upgrade from what they have now.

My only question is, if you're Parcells, why do you come to Minnesota? Their Super Bowl window is all but closed and there is little young talent to build around in the long-term. This is a veteran team built to win now and they didn't. There is no QB for the future, no stadium deal and this team hasn't operated with a formal GM since I can remember. Usually these Super Bowl winning ex-coaches get to wait around until the perfect situation comes up. This situation is far from perfect, so what makes Parcells take this job?
I'm not sure Frazier automatically benches bert.

Remember he is basically auditioning for the job.

As bad as bert has been he is still better than TJ IMO.

I wonder if Frazier tells him he keeps the job as long as he runs a tight offense---limited audibles, and that the offense will be run AP---like 30 times a game.

I figure that would give the vikes the best chance of winning. Zig can't tell him to tank the season and play for a high draft choice. He still has the stadium issuse and he needs to throw the fans a bone---hope for next season.

Also, if I were Frazier, the first time bert screws me or the team, on the field or with the media, I would exact my revenge. The following week Bert would still be the starter, up until the very second the offense had to take the field. (BTW I would absolutely love to see this happen.)

I have heard from at least two sources that this was coming before the Packer game, and Zygi was just waiting to see how this game played out. Rumblings inside the organization were that Chilly had "lost" this team, and that the "playoffs" were out of reach. There is more to this story that I can't tell you because my source asked me not to, but I will tell you that it is juicy.

Ka-Bong.....Ya can't leave me hangin like that!!!!! I need more!!!

You are the gift that keeps on giving.
I wonder if Wilf steps in and forces Favre to be benched. Any competent person looking at the long term future of the team would bench Favre. While Jackson is likely not the answer, you might as well use the rest of the season to determine with 100% certainty that Jackson needs to be replaced. Might even give the #3 guy a handful of snaps.

Regarding Parcells, a championship in Minnesota would definitely cement his legacy as one of the best ever. But he hasn't won a championship since the 80's. Seems odd that he would pick Minnesota as his project this late in his career, expecially with the way he walked away from Miami and Dallas (barely giving those teams a chance to win a championship).

That makes sense. Everybody has been saying bench Favre and give Jackson a chance to see what he can do. But they already gave Jackson several starts before Favre got there and they know he's not the answer or Favre never would have been brought in.
Just what is Frazier gonna do? Make them wear jackets and ties on the team airplane?

Favre and his 24 or 25 turnovers are a HUGE part of why they are 3-7.

Favre's attitude and lockeroom schism creation is a HUGE part of why they are 3-7.

To not make benching Favre your first official task as head coach is an epic fail.

Why fire Chilly at all?

It doesn't take a HOF QB to hand off to AP 40 times per game, which is what any Vikes HC with half a brain should do.

Also...El-Ka-Bong's sources are reporting that Zygi is considering makeing contact with Packers DC Dan Compers about a possible move to MN next year.

Oh, nevermind you're a Vikings fan...

Ahhh a refreshing "shot in the rib cage"! Putz!

Relieved of coaching duties....doesn't say he won't be picking up or keeping other duties within the organization. Would have much rather seen the presser say F-I-R-E-D! (Hope that spells it out for ya...door knob!

Why, "sh1t-canned" a little harsh?

Childress also brought that up in his presser right after the game.

Heard on the radio that Chilly said (after being informed he was fired) that he was leaving the Vikings in a lot better shape than when he came. (Yeah, right.)

So, Pack up 10 - 3 equates to Vikings in control with the lead? I guess he didn't watch the game (or is it me that wasn't paying attention?)
