I was pretty much writing off Rice because I can't see them re-signing him. Perhaps they will. I wouldn't mind seeing the Packers get him, that's a good take. Coming off his injury he's certainly not in line to demand what he was going to get off of last season.

I wouldn't be upset at all if Rice came to play for Green Bay. We need another WR. At least a solid #2. I don't trust Jones.

Greenway is a pretty good LB, too.

Green Bay leading 10-3 with nine seconds remaining before intermission, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to James Jones in the corner of the end zone. There was a slight chance Jones did not get both feet in, so a booth review began. Over on the Vikes' sideline, Childress threw his challenge flag. Coaches cannot challenge in the final two minutes of a half. It was embarrassing for Childress to seem to have no idea how this rule reads.

The worst part about it was the referee even made an announcement that he was buzzed from upstairs before the coach threw the challenge flag.

Desperate action from a desperate man.
I don't think it means that he didn't know the rule.

If I was afraid the opposing team was going to get the extra point off before the ref upstairs buzzes the ref on the field, I'd throw the red flag just to draw attention to it and make the on field refs hold up play to gain a little time for a booth review to be initiated.
I agree, FreeSafety.

Heck, I'd throw the flag when the refs miss a facemask call on Rodgers even though that's not reviewable, just to force to referees to state out loud that it's not reviewable.

That is a good point. A few years of public torcher for the rest of your life being financially set. Sign me up. Smiler
Will Chilli coach again in the NFL ?

He will never get another HC opportunity and since his OC credentials are called "Day One Install"- he is officially done coaching the NFL

He is a slacker and sandbagging, IMO he deliberately delayed his operation on hip.
Pass.
Is Greenway as good as I think he is?

Granted I don't see as many queens games here as most of you, but it seems that every time I see him he appears to be playing far better than anyone else on that defense.

Based on what I have seen were he available I would hope TT would give him some consideration.

How do you get the purple out ? Seems like he would be permanently dain bramaged
Today on our local sports station, Vike fans are clammering for Vince Young now. The best part is they were saying they'll give them a 3rd for Young. First, they don't have one and second he's as coachable as Brent.

If the Tennessees trade Young to the Vikings, this time he really will commit suicide.

I know you are trying to be funny, but seriously.. joking about people killing themselves (that have tried) is crossing the line man.

Good article in most respects, but it's very difficult for me to take seriously anyone who truly believes Favre might play in 2011.

good article except when he lists "force-feeding the ball to Percy Harvin despite his migraines " as one of the reasons of the Vikings 2010 failures. please...the kid is a football player and a gifted one at that. throwing passes his way b/c of his headaches are not one of the top 200 reasons why 2010 was an utter failure for them

I think Brandt made a great point for why Favre would come back.

But who'd want him? He's on pace to finish the season with around 16 touchdowns, 28 interceptions, and a QB rating in the mid-60s. Is there any GM in the league who would seriously expect him to be better when he's a year older? Nobody in their right mind would want to go into the season with him as their starter, and he won't come back as a backup. When the 2010 season is done, so is he.

The whole Chilly to GB angle has always been very murky to me and that does clarify it quite a bit. I was unaware of LaMonte's role and it's a classic case of an agent getting the best of management.
Favre will play as long as some team allows him to play.

Carolina, Arizona, Tennessee & a few others all need QB's right now. Some team will give him a shot next year if they want to deal with him.

Same here.....thank you LaMonte!
Thanks for the link Hauser. This tickled me... "Ultimately, Childress paid the heaviest price for Favre's decision to come back, yet skip training camp and preseason. But then, that's what happens when the head coach turns into a luggage handler."
that article is awesome.

quote:
"They just came over and said, 'Keep your head up. I know it's not what we envisioned when we were at your place,' " Favre said. "But I'm not going to say, 'I told you guys,' or 'I shouldn't have come back.' I'm here. We're in this thing together."

But I'll go ahead and mention it anyhow.

Did you guys know he swept GB last year? Not like he would mention it or anything.
Jeff Fisher and Favre would be awesome? LOL. Favre is not awesome. He hasn't been awesome in a long time. He is a pre madonna who comes riding in on his high horse every year a day late and a dollar short demanding he automatically gets the starting job because he is LORD FAVRE. The guy can't even pronounce his own name right. He thinks because he is LORD FAVRE he can just mow his lawn all off season and then throw a few balls to some high school kids and that'll cut it for the NFL. He single handedly destroyed a Superbowl caliber team(s) and trust me it's not the coach's fault.

If he would have been serious about winning a Superbowl he would have been on a strict workout regiment, especially at his age. Does he do it? Of course not, he is LORD FAVRE. The all time interception king in NFL history. The guy has blown more games, and seasons than all the other QB's put together yet people still admire this backwards honky. He's always plays the stupid will he or won't he retire shenanigans like people give a crap. The guy is a drama queen and a media whore ala Kim Kardashian and Lindsey Lohan etc...

People are always sticking up for this idiot. Receivers are running the wrong routes, Favre always makes his receivers look good blah, blah, blah. The guy makes mistakes that pee wee league kids don't. He didn't even know what a nickel or dime defense was until he was like 25 years old and his dad was a coach? LMAO! He went all the way thru college and didn't know that? The guy is a backwards douche if I've ever seen one.

I read a facebook post yesterday where people in Minnesota are hoping they get Holmgren as their next coach because he might be the only person to be able to coax Favre out of retirement and into playing for the queens for one more year. Are people really this stupid? Do they really still think Favre is good? What planet do they live on? What is wrong with them? Seriously?

It's also pretty sad when you're an NFL qb with over 150 million dollars and can't get laid.
Sit down and STFU brINT Favray. Go away, you're a fossil now and you've destroyed your legacy.
And here's a free little tip. Learn how to dress, get some extenze, and some just for men because you look like ****!
