Hard to believe we're just 8 days away. What battles or players are you interested in seeing/following?

I'll start. I don't have wild expectations here but you can't deny it's a hell of an interesting story. If he has anything at all left that resembles what he was 3 years ago...

I have wild expectations regarding Nick Perry. I think people are really forgetting about him & he's going to burst onto the scene this year.

My Wild Ass Prediction....

Perry in 2013 will be better than Cullen Jenkins was down the stretch in 2010.

I too will be watching Jolly. I hope he is able to make the team and contribute.

I'll also be watching the RB situation closely. It's exciting to have a couple of top flight rookies on the team. I think Starks' time in GB is over.

My 2013 WAP's...

Terrell Manning and Brad Jones will be the starting ILB's at some point and never look back

Nick Perry will have 10 plus sacks

Casey Hayward will be voted as a starter for the Pro Bowl... but not play in it.

Harris, Lacy, or Franklin will establish themselves as the Alpha wolf in pre-season, get the bulk of the carries, break the 100 yard/game drought, and reach 1,000 yards.

Boykin or Ross is going to become a hell of a lot better than anyone thought they were. My money is on Boykin.

Finley will have just enough good games for all of us to spend 6 pages on a thread debating whether GB should keep him.

Agree with the interest in Perry. Hoping he can be a real impact player.

Also interested to see if flopping the OLine was a good move or a bad move. Also like to see improvement from Barclay and maybe even Sherrod.

Want to see Heyward and House healthy and providing quality depth. Defense could be pretty good for years to come if we can have less than 10 starters on IR every year.

I too, am excited about the return of Perry. I thought he was starting to show something before he got hurt. Perry has a lot of athleticism and enough speed to contain the edge against the run.

The guy who just might rain on Finley's 2013 parade might be one Andrew Quarless. In OTA's he apparently came in there in excellent shape and on a seam route looked so fast 2 local reports had to do double takes to confirm that was Quarless. MM also spoke very highly of their expectations of him.

If he stays healthy, Finley vs Quarless could be a very interesting battle.

That will a tough one to determine since they play different positions.

That aside, if your prediction is true, he will be an All-Pro. I am just hoping he can be a solid contributor.

Just a leg.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Neal can bring as an OLB, and if he can get through TC injury free.  I think he might make a big jump this year, he was coming on strong last year.

I'm guessing GB will be very happy to have Tramon on the roster for their upcoming Super Bowl run, then after they see more of House, Hayward and Shields, they can decide about Tramon's future next offseason.

"I’m just raring to go, Anytime a season you win your division for the second straight year and you end up losing in the divisional round, especially with the expectations we have here, it’s never a good feeling. I had some time to get off and come back with the mentality that I want to dominate like I have in the past. I’m going to help this defense play great defense every game."

BJ Raji saying the right things in a contract year

I do believe Ted knows there are those that get an extension and those who need to play for one to prove they deserve it. It's got to be a razor thin line. Talk about trusting your guys and the coaches. Pulse of the team.

My overlooked star for 2013 is (drum roll, please) ... DAVON HOUSE!

Also very excited about Casey Haywood, Datone Jones, having the future Mayor of L.A., J. Franklin, in our backfield (hope we get back to using the screen pass with him.)

And I am a little curious to see if the Italian kicker can beat out Crosby in camp.  What's his name?  Mussolini?

Johnny Jolly was a great locker room/energy guy even when he was on the lean.  Datone Jones sounds like a similar personality.  That alone is really going to help guys like Raji and Neal. Good players but the BFI just went up with Jolly coming back to town.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jolly make the team as more of a rotational player like Wilson but I truly believe he will bring some intangibles back to the Dline.

1) Perry and House = shot in the arm for physicality in both pass and rush game

2) ****ty Britches = Providing a solid skillset to ILB, really hoping to see his snap count go up.  I have no expectations for Barrington but he's intriguing.

3) Run game = put up or shut up

4) EDS is going to be all pro.  Yep, I said it.  I've also been sniffing model glue.  Seriously, if there is more dedication to the run game EDS will be okay in that role.  I think it's going to be up to the new RBs to help pick up the slack in pass blocking though.

NOW GET ON WITH IT!!

Predictions:

1) Eddie Lacy will continue his excellence from college and prove the doubters wrong. Franklin will also be tremendous as the 3rd down RB. Harris will be a nice change of pace from Lacy and I fully expect McCarthy's new offensive wrinkle to be something akin to the Wishbone with 2 RBs on the field at the same time.

2) Cobb will be DOMINANT this season. Nelson and Jones will have their usual solid seasons, but Cobb will be insane. He will set the NFL all purpose yardage record. He will play WR, QB, and RB this season and will find success in all roles.

3) Jeremy Ross will emerge as a strong return man. Reminds me a lot of Josh Cribbs.

4) Jermichael Finley will have a strong year after being humbled last year.

5) Brad Jones will show why Desmond Bishop was expendable.

6) Kaepernick will leave the San Fran game after Clay hits him, knocking his helmet off, and Raji drops trou and gives him a sweaty yokozuna. His season will be over.

The most heralded of the young corners is fifth-round draft pick Micah Hyde, who from all reports acquitted himself quite well in the spring. That’s no surprise. While not blessed with great speed, the former Iowa star uses solid technique and good instincts to get the job done. Those are the traits that usually allow a rookie to make a positive early impression. Hyde is expected to be the No. 5 corner this season.

Kaepernick will continue to do what he does.  I saw him give our Boise State team nightmares year after year.  He's the real deal and a tough kid.  We need to come up with a better game plan, not just hope he gets hurt.

BK--nice touch!

RT is definitely the most intriguing position battle.

Newhouse, Barclay, Sherrod, Datko and Bakhtiari. I'd keep an eye of Datko. If he's healthy, he could be a fantastic NFL tackle.

I guess anything's possible, but that would be a shock.

He looks to be talented, but that doesn't amount to much if he doesn't learn to hold onto the ball.

In addition to several of the aforementioned, I'm going to be following the status of all the rookie WR's (draftees and FA's). Long season and were going to probably need 1 or more of those guys to produce.

He needs to focus in clutch situations and not drop the ball.

Barclay did a decent job last year. It should be between him and Newhouse for RT, unless by some miracle, Sherrod can compete.
