Dallas doesn't seem to have the kind of defense that the Packers typically struggle with.  Am I wrong about that?  If that's the case, I don't see how their offense can keep up with the Packers.

On one hand we have seen Rodgers struggle with Cover 2/Tampa 2 defenses in the past, but on the other hand we have seen Rodgers/McCarthy annihilate a Rod Marinelli led defense. I don't see the Cowboys pass rush giving Rodgers problems, the issue will be if Dallas' DB's show up and play their butts off like Buffalo did. Buffalo kept everything in front of them with their Safeties and then their CBs were glued to our receivers. That didn't create a lot of opportunities. Buffalo was a lot stronger against the run than Dallas though and if Lacy gets going then it's going to bring one of the Safeties up further leaving Rodgers vs. a single high Safety. And as we know that's when Jordy takes off.

Don't forget that Detroit was up 14-0 at one point and Dallas made the comeback in the second half without Romo making any major mistakes. I think the key to winning this game is to stop Witten. Witten's Romo's go to guy when he's in trouble.

Murray's been run into the ground by Dallas all year. Gotta wonder how much juice he has left. He didn't look all that explosive today

Lacy's taken way less wear and tear this season. I think he has the bigger impact on Sunday

This is Green Bays game to win. If they execute their game plan this is a 17 point plus win. Dallas doesn't have the horses on defense to hang with Green Bay and they know it. About all Dallas can do is grab and hold WR's at the line and hope the refs let most of it go.

Another reason I want this one so badly oddly enough is Lambeau Field vs. Jerruh's world.  Lambeau to me is one of the very few stadiums left that doesn't have water falls, art galleries, or gourmet food.  We are a throwback and the anti glamour that is the Cowboys.  We are owned by US, we still sit on metal benches, we drink beer, and to me it is football.  Not the giant ego fest that is Dallas.  To me this is us vs. the Evil Empire.

The dum is strong with this one.

I sent you a box of tinfoil for Christmas. Everyone needs a new hat for the holdays.

If AR stays upright it's a tough game to lose.  I wouldn't worry about DAL playing D the way BUF did.  They simply ain't got the horses to pull that off.  Only a few teams in the league do: SEA, BUF, DET is iffy.  BUF's secondary is head and shoulders above DAL.

Also, for the stat whores out there:

What?! They don't sell brats there anymore?

There is plenty of food available at Lambeau that many Wisconsinites would consider "gourmet". Just not for the common rabble. You need a luxury suite or at least a club seat to access the fancy food.

And not everyone sits on bleachers anymore. And not everyone drinks beer either. They sell mixed drinks now and you see loads of people with those instead of beer. A can of beer (16 oz. but still) is $8-$9. Who knows what they charge for mixers.

How many extra truckloads of brats are they going to deliver to Lambeau to satisfy Christie?

They should tell Christie that the game is in Milwaukee.

Jerry Jones is good at one thing, making money. Cowboys had this on sale Sunday shortly after the game. Why bring up in any way perhaps the most devastating loss in team history?

Besides, it's blasphemy.

Why would any self respecting Cowboy fan pay money for a shirt that's a reminder of one of your franchises defining failures?

If Green Bay plays Denver in the SB is anyone hoping for a chance to buy a nice "Salary Cap * II" mock turtleneck?

@JeffAshPG: Some players appreciate NFL history, #Cowboys coach Jason Garrett says, but for others, the #IceBowl is "ancient history."

Fine. Packers should just use this to breakdown before the game:

no reason for the packers to even show up, its an automatic the cowboys will win the whole thing.

MM Monday presser (from JSO blog):

On Aaron Rodgers... Progressing. He had a hip in his hop today. Meet with Dr. McKenzie Wednesday, set a plan.

On preparing for Dallas... When the game concluded, we were ready for Carolina and Dallas. ...Had coaches video around 9; able to get the install done last night and this morning.

On the defense... Clearly, we reached that target the last 8 weeks of the season. The players and the path, we felt we had the right plan for using our players. Being more creative, using more personnel packages. The way you practice in May, June, training camp, you're still doing the same things in 2nd half of the season, that's a good plan.

On Murray... Excellent Dallas Cowboys run game. He's definitely a difference-maker. Any time you see a player for the first time live, they leave an impression on you. He will definitely he a focal point for us.

On if playoff disappointments are motivation... I don't think about it. Last year was a tough loss. This is a different team, a different opportunity. You have to stay true to who you are. We're not going to make a bunch of changes this week.

On Dallas on the road... The thing I've been impressed with, Detroit game, they're down 14-0 and keep battling. They have that mental toughness to keep going. You don't win eight games on the road without that.

On Tony Romo, different player... I've always thought Tony was an excellent player. Ability to get in and out of plays. Run, pass balance helps any quarterback. Still has ability to extend plays. Excellent awareness.

On where he was in Ice Bowl... In Pittsburgh. Four years old. ... It was a joke in our team meeting room, everybody says 'well nobody was born and we say What about Dom?'"

On turning special teams around... The things that have gone wrong, protection, those are more technical, fundamental problems. Feel confident with them moving forward. Tim's been an excellent punter for us for a long time. Hopefully, he doesn't have to punt a whole lot. ...Some of those things we addressed. All the things we need to improve on, we've addressed.

On going pads this week... Yes.

On Micah Hyde... Micah just needs opportunities. When he gets opportunities, he makes plays. It's winter football up here. So the return game is very important. We'll see what their plan is come Sunday.

On Rodgers not practicing in '08 stretch after shoulder injury, helping him... I'll say this, '08 Atlanta game a big hurdle for Aaron, going through that the first time with your quarterback. We went down to Hutson Center, tried different harness he'd wear. Said we wouldn't call deep throws, called a deep post and he kind of gave me a look. ... To be able to play through that, I don't think any of us thought he was going to play. That was a big moment for him, for our football team. He has learned to play with different things through his career. Aaron was brought up the same way; he likes to practice. Brett was the same way. The head coach and quarterback control the tempo and energy at practice. When he competes at a high level every day, raises intensity level. ...Need to be smart. Talk him through.

On if there's concern over timing on offense... I'm not concerned. Look at the way he played in second half of the Detroit game. Has learned to play in different situations. Has continuity with teammates. The way he progresses, he's a quick healer. I think he'll be in pretty good shape coming Sunday.

The Packers should simply take care of business Sunday. I doubt it will be a blowout, it may be under a TD even, but I think it will be one of those games where there's very little doubt the Packers will win even if the score is relatively close.

Cowboys players talking about how they've played in cold weather games this year and citing their game @ Chicago as evidence that they can play fine in cold weather games

Nothing quite like beating the 2014 Bears in 35 degree weather.

If the forecast holds this will be something like the 12th coldest playoff game in Packer history. I think my alarm clock generates more buzz than that story line.

Come to think of it, the Packers already won a second ice bowl. Wasn't the Superb Owl win vs Pittsburgh plagued by an ice storm? In Dallas?
