Two thoughts:

1) Apparently he didn't wiff with the women like he did with tackles in GB.

2) Up to 4 now?  There are a lot of other cities between those mentioned.  Got to wonder how many other cities he 'performed' in.

Sharper is a multimillionaire (at least for a little while longer), that goes a long way in keeping a person out of prison in this country. The fact that he will probably only spend a couple years in prison shouldn't be shocking at all.

I don't think that's the case, Michigan. It looks like the plea deal is for all four states meaning the 3-8 years is for all the cases, hence the "global resolution" announced by his attorney. If so, that's nothing more than a slap on the dick. If it's only 3-8 years, it's a slap in the face to all the women he raped -- and we've only read about the ones who came forward. He deserves life in prison.

According to the AP, Sharper will plead guilty to one felony charge of attempted sexual assault on Tuesday in Las Vegas, and Wolfson said Sharper will face between 38 months and eight years in prison. Wolfson told the AP that Sharper’s Nevada prison term would run concurrent with other sentences.

Thanks, Michigan. I don't think the earlier link was very clear, but this ESPN article cleared it up for me. He's reached a deal that resolves all the cases in four states, but only Las Vegas has revealed its settlement of 3-8 years. However, the Nevada deal also allows his jail time to run concurrently with other sentences. If all four have agreed to do the same, his actual jail time could be less than 10 years. I'm hoping one of the other states ups it to life.

I'm a bit surprised; I had thought Nevada would love to put another ex-NFL star in the hoosegow. Sharper must've had more cash available than O.J.

I assume since the Feds were involved in the negotiations, the states had to acquiesce to their lead. One would think the charges were serious (and numerous!) enough to warrant vigorous prosecution, but, for now, more questions remain than answers.

If he doesn't have to spend any time in prison - or very little, he has nothing to worry about.  Jerry in Dallas will sign him.  And if Jerry does that we should send him a thank you card.  After all, if we meet them in playoffs again, AR will have 15 TD passes that day.  In fact GB should sign a few extra WRs for that game - how many times can we expect the group we have sprint the length of the field effectively?

There are still many questions that haven't been answered. Only one of the four states have said anything.

1. There was a "global resolution" plea deal. What does that mean? I assumed it meant that Sharper is pleading guilty to all the crimes so there will be no trial and none of the women will need to be put through the wringer.

2. Will the sentences for all four states be the same? Will they all run concurrently? Just because Nevada is only going for 3-8 doesn't mean that's what all the states have agreed to. Or does it?

3. Where will he be serving his prison time? Angola? Tent City? Some country club prison?

4. Did the NFL have any hand in these negotiations? With all the bad news that the NFL has had in the past year, I'm wondering if Roger Goodell did anything to minimize the PR impact that this case would have had.

Deadspin is saying that 20 year sentence may end up being 50% less one year for time served in prison. Another 9 year deal.

Sharper may very well end up spending less than a decade in prison for raping multiple women across the country. ****ing amazing.

Great message to send to women...

Darren Sharper will be sentenced to 20 years in Louisiana for raping 3 women, but he will only serve 9 of those years behind bars ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Media reports saying Sharper will serve 20 years for the Louisiana rapes are incorrect.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... Louisiana prosecutors have agreed in the plea deal, after serving 9 years Sharper will get credit for the remaining 11 while free on probation.

We're told the Louisiana sentence will be served concurrently with sentences in California,Nevada and Arizona. All 4 states require Sharper behind bars for 9 years or less, so 9 is the operative number.

Short story ... Darren Sharper will be a free man in 2024.

Not to let Goodell off the hook for his mind boggling idiocy in the Ray Rice case, but America's view in general on violence towards women is severely lacking.  It's a flat out embarrassment that you can get life in prison for marijuana possession but only 9 years for systematically drugging and raping multiple women across 4 states.

And you know there were many more of these women. SICK!

There is a reason cops always look closely at suspects with priors. While it may be true there are a lot of people in prison who shouldn't be, there are also a lot of people let out early who shouldn't be.

I certainly agree with these sentiments, and hope it's not too cynical to wonder what role money played in this outcome. It seems to at face value; otherwise why didn't the feds/states impose appropriate penalties?

The only 'positive' is these women were spared from further testimony, depositions, and emotions associated with rape.

I sincerely hope whatever monies he had went to restitution to these victims, and NOT for his lawyers and court "fees".
