Wouldn't be at all surprised if all three drafted wideouts ended up on the 53 and Amari is fortunate that the Packers invested a third rounder in him.
Leave Amari alone, people. This is they way you acted with Davante. Give the young guys time to develop.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt and time to develop for sure. That said, he really looked like a fish out of water. I don't think I have ever seen anyone look so unsure of themselves on the football field.
I agree with both Goalline and 13X.
Best case scenario is Amari is the most improved player from last year.
Hope springs eternal
Did Amari return punts in college? Perhaps transition to pros as wide receiver and punt returner was too big a jump. Then he had to return kicks as well.
Amari suddenly looked good and quickly cut and ran forward returning punts week after he was out w/ Covid and fill in David Moore looked great vs MN. Competition brings out your best.
I guess the thing that people reacted to with Amari is that he just didn't show the speed (4.44) and quickness we expected.
Overthinking?
Think a big part of his problem is a lack of confidence. Talent he displayed at Clemson really hasn't appeared with the Packers.
Very possibly.
only big hole I see is LS...I hope that one of the OL that was drafted, T/C can practice and play LS...that guy we have now is bad.

How often was Amari used on offense, last season? Other than an end around play and a couple passes thrown his way, we have no idea of what he can do, on offense. Let him be a WR and we'll see what he can do. Now that we drafted Watson and Doubs, they, with Kylin Hill, can handle return duties.

I think they would have liked to use him more but I'm guessing they lacked confidence in him.
Those punt return averages for Rodgers in college are nothing special. I agree just let him play WR and let someone else return punts.
Andy Herman's (way too early) roster projection. He's got four UDFAs making the final cut.
Wondering if Herman feels GB may try to sign Kevin King, to a team friendly deal, to help the CB room?
Suspect the team has moved on from Kevin King. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up like Nick Perry: a guy the rest of the league wasn't interested in after the Packers were done with him.
Rob Reischel's Roster Projection
Bill Huber's Roster Projection
RB (beyond Jones and Dillon) and WR both strike me as remaining very fluid.

I sure wish they could find a way to stash Winfree and Carpenter somewhere.
I also like Samauri but I know we can't keep them all.
Hate to say it, but an injury or two is gonna assist in shaping the 53 coming out of camp.

If it's true that Carpenter isn't on a single #1 unit on ST's then he's gone. That was the purpose of drafting him.

IF (any only if) some starter or two get injured, then I could see that on a team friendly contact.
Herman out with his latest roster projection this morning.
Herman is almost always bang on accurate
He and a lot of the other recent projections are giving the third RB spot to Goodson.
Yeah provided Kylin Hill starts on PUP list..Goodson in one game has shown more than any of the other dudes. Excited to see how he does vs the Aints.
Goodson is a pretty talented backâĶ Iâm surprised he went undrafted.
He sounded white soâĶ

He was on one vs, San Fran, which was surprising. Rico Gafford was on all of them, I think.

Time will tell
Many RBs look good in preseason...in part because its preseason. He's a dime a dozen little guy who is a liability in pass pro. That doesn't show up in preseason because teams don't often send blitzers screaming into the A gap like they do in reg season.
Can't see investing a spot on the 53 for him. PS ? Yes, absolutely. See if he can be developed into Aaron Jones 2.0 with a year of seasoning/strength. But for 2022, the Packers already have a back-up "little" RB in Kylin Hill ( PUP)
Patrick Taylor is a bigger, more experienced back and has actually shown his mettle in reg season games. I think he'll win the RB3 spot because he's the only one with any stoutness at 6'2 and 220.
Taylor has shown he can run, catch and handle pass pro. Here's his work vs Lions last year - starts at the 2:00 minute mark. Not explosive, but competent in all facets and that's often the decider for coaches when looking at depth dudes.

Makes sense. He's got better hands than Taylor. I'd like to see them try him in some jet sweep/motion plays. He can keep that role warm until Hill returns.
Well, Dominique Dafney GONE!
