Or when they didn't re-sign him.

Tightwad Ted strikes again! Solid move. I was hoping they'd bring in another big boy.

Packers could get involved with Hester

March, 18, 2014

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers signed one former Chicago Bears' Pro Bowl player in defensive end Julius Peppers, so why not another in return specialist Devin Hester?

Hester

The Packers have not gotten involved yet with Hester, who visited the Falcons on Tuesday, but they could if the price is right.

According to an NFL personnel evaluator whose team has discussed the possibility of going after Hester, the former Pro Bowl return specialist is currently seeking a deal in the $4-million-per-year range.

However, that may be too high for teams interested in the 31-year-old return man.

If Hester discovers the market for his services is lower, it could bring in more teams, the Packers among them, when the price drops.

Hester has not been the same returner the last year or two. He seems to do more dancing and running sideways than he did when he was prolific. He also has started to make some questionable decisions on punts. He might just need a change of scenery but based on the last couple seasons I think he is over reaching to make plays (again) and am not sure how much is left.

Pboi, where is that link from?  It stinks of Arrigo-ness.

I hear ya, Sep. I was a reporter/editor for eight years and the pay sucked. Perks? I did know where all the "local bodies" were buried and I got to pretty much set my own hours, which was awesome. Beyond that, it's either a second, much lower income or a just-out-of-college starter gig. I have to say though, I did enjoy the job but not the pay.

Yeah, just a guy looking for a story

Pack won't pay for a guy who is strictly a returner(he's shown to be a bad WR). They'll just draft a WR in this deep class who actually has upside as a WR who has returning ability/experience in college

Yep, I did radio for around 6 years. The job was great, the pay sucked. People thought it was cool I made appearances DJing clubs and playing in bands, not realizing it was how I made rent.

Then I went in to finance.

Does that mean he will trade Wilson for Stafford when Tate finds out he has a noodle arm QB?

       I

Stafford with a noodle arm? Not even close. Much stronger arm than Wilson does.

Well at least you went into finance, Herschel. I chose teaching. Same long hours ("all summer off" is a myth as you develop new curriculum, take classes to keep your license, etc.), love the job, and compensation is better than that in journalism but not by a whole lot. Oh, and I was print journalism so I'm a hot babe in brain only!

On topic, Golden Tate is golden in name only; in performance, he's barely bronze.

Radio always sounded fun, but the rent is too damn high for a local media job. Finance is probably longer hours but exponentially more money. Good move.

Stafford has a very strong arm. What he needs is a QB coach. If MM got ahold of him, he could be a VERY good QB. Who told you Stafford has a noodle arm? That's a line of horse****
