You know they're inevitable, but there's no way to predict which part of the roster is going to be affected.

Now, it's also worth noting that Lynch will take on a Jaguars run defense that gave up two scores to Joseph Addai last week and has given up six scores on the ground through four games. If you're in a pinch this week and need a running back, Lynch could be helpful

What are you doing posting that here? E-Mail that bulletin to TT pronto!

Sounds like da Bills called Philly not Philly called da Bills.

The Bills and Eagles spoke during the day today, but a league source said nothing came of the talks and said it was actually the Bills that initiated the conversation between the two teams.

The Bills are believed to be looking for a third-round pick in exchange for Lynch, and the Eagles wouldn't be willing to give up anything close to a three for the 24-year-old running back, who was DeSean Jackson's teammate at Cal.

Teach'em who's boss Ted!!

Which we just witnessed on the final drive Sunday when we ground out almost seven minutes of clock when we needed to.

We wanted to run the ball, we needed to run the ball....and we did run the ball. Which allegedly wasn't possible in that situation if you listen to some people around here.

I think some of these people were sitting behind me at the game on Sunday. The first thing that came out of their mouths when the Packers got the ball was "if only we had a running game". They even got up and left with 3 minutes to go.
If a trade was made for Lynch it would seem to set the Packers up nicely for next year as far as depth at RB, especially if they are able to rework Grant. It might actually put them in a position to trade one of the RB's on the roster if Starks ends up looking good.
Yup saw it too...

@Jay_Glazer: Breaking news: I'm reporting seattle has traded for bills rb marshawn lynch for 4th in 2011 and cond pick 2012. Great move for 'hawks
PFT blurb with a little dig at the Pack.

So much for the Buffalo Bills driving a hard bargain when it comes to a possible trade of running back Marshawn Lynch.

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Seahawks have finagled Lynch from the Bills for a fourth-round pick in 2011 and a conditional pick in 2012.

As recently as Monday, the prevailing word was that, even though Lynch wanted out, the Bills wouldn't be trading him.

Now they have. And the 2-2 Seahawks have picked up a potentially powerful weapon for their run at the NFC West crown.

Meanwhile, the Packers continue to have no one to run the ball. As we pointed out in this week's power rankings, the pass-heavy attack should be working really well when the weather turns at Lambeau Field.

Lynch is under contract through 2012, but it's possible that the sixth year of his rookie deal voids.
Interesting that the team to acquire Lynch was the Seahawks. The general manager under coach Pete Carroll is former long-time Thompson aide John Schneider.

With the Packers, part of Schneider's duties was to find and work on potential trades. He would work on deals, similar to the Lynch trade, and then submit them to Thompson. He then often passed.

It was a source of frustration for Schneider, according to a column by Bob McGinn earlier this season (Insider subscribers only). Here's a snippet: Schneider remained the same well-compensated employee whether his recommendations were acted upon or not. But, as with most walks of life, when a lot of work basically never reaches fruition, a level of disappointment is sure to follow.

This.

Have to admit if GB was offered essentially the same deal I don't why they don't make the move.

Then again there's a good reason Im not the GM of this team.
A 4th sounds like a no-brainer, but anything higher than that gets iffy. And nobody on here knows for a fact that TT had the option to match Seattle's offer. Even if it came down to both teams offering 4ths, who would you bet will be drafting higher?

Good point.

I hope that is the case because this news disappoints me.
Damn, this sucks. i was really hoping the pack would get lynch. But as people have said, the Seahawks will likely pick in the top 12 picks each round while the Packers will likely pick in the bottom ten. This, a 4th and a conditional pick (I'm assuming that will be a 3rd or 4th) from the Seahawks would likely have to be a 3rd and a conditional 3rd or 4th in 2012. At that point the deal becomes a little more iffy.

Still, i was really hoping TT would pull the trigger on this deal. Lynch would look much better than Jackson right now, with Kuhn playing the same role he has the last 2 games.
This is probably wishful thinking considering how tight lipped GMs are, but I do hope we get some commentary from Thompson regarding if he was in serious talks with Buff, and why it didn't pan out? Will also be nice to find out the details on the 2012 conditional pick.
sorry but a team thinking SB shouldn't let a 3rd round pick let it get in the way of a player they would have selected in the 1st round a few years ago.

the conditional pick can't be much higher than a 4th. hopefully we find out all the details.
