If a second and Hawk is what the going price is, that is more than Marshall Faulk went for. Are the Bills really that friggen dum?

Shi* happens and you just can't forecast crap like injuries. A good thing TT can see that.
You know they're inevitable, but there's no way to predict which part of the roster is going to be affected.

Now, it's also worth noting that Lynch will take on a Jaguars run defense that gave up two scores to Joseph Addai last week and has given up six scores on the ground through four games. If you're in a pinch this week and need a running back, Lynch could be helpful
What are you doing posting that here? E-Mail that bulletin to TT pronto!
Sounds like TT did his part, Rusty. The Bills pussed out.

Sounds like da Bills called Philly not Philly called da Bills.
The Bills and Eagles spoke during the day today, but a league source said nothing came of the talks and said it was actually the Bills that initiated the conversation between the two teams.
The Bills are believed to be looking for a third-round pick in exchange for Lynch, and the Eagles wouldn't be willing to give up anything close to a three for the 24-year-old running back, who was DeSean Jackson's teammate at Cal.
Teach'em who's boss Ted!!

I thought the Philly rumors didn't smell quite right. I'm pretty sure McCoy is day-to-day and even finished the game with his injury, so the Eagles shouldn't be in panic mode.
Philly wouldn't give up anything for Spitz. What makes ANYONE think they would give up more than a 3rd for Caveman?

WHAT!!! Don't they know he is a future Hall of Famer????

Some of us (I believe you've become fond of the perjorative "Homer") are simply (and correctly I might add) opinining that all is not lost if no move ends up being made (and providing evidence that supports it) if the existing talent is used properly. Which we just witnessed on the final drive Sunday when we ground out almost seven minutes of clock when we needed to.
We wanted to run the ball, we needed to run the ball....and we did run the ball. Which allegedly wasn't possible in that situation if you listen to some people around here.
I think some of these people were sitting behind me at the game on Sunday. The first thing that came out of their mouths when the Packers got the ball was "if only we had a running game". They even got up and left with 3 minutes to go.
If a trade was made for Lynch it would seem to set the Packers up nicely for next year as far as depth at RB, especially if they are able to rework Grant. It might actually put them in a position to trade one of the RB's on the roster if Starks ends up looking good.
Jay Glazer reports this: Breaking news: I'm reporting seattle has traded for bills rb marshawn lynch for 4th in 2011 and cond pick 2012. Great move for 'hawks
Yup saw it too...

Complete and utter drop of the ball by TT.
And now the Hags have FOUR RBs better than the Pack. Forsett, Washington, Jones and now Lynch.
This rubs me raw. An %$#$^& fourth rounder and a conditional was all it took?

PFT blurb with a little dig at the Pack.
quote:So much for the Buffalo Bills driving a hard bargain when it comes to a possible trade of running back Marshawn Lynch.
Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Seahawks have finagled Lynch from the Bills for a fourth-round pick in 2011 and a conditional pick in 2012.
As recently as Monday, the prevailing word was that, even though Lynch wanted out, the Bills wouldn't be trading him.
Now they have. And the 2-2 Seahawks have picked up a potentially powerful weapon for their run at the NFC West crown.
Meanwhile, the Packers continue to have no one to run the ball. As we pointed out in this week's power rankings, the pass-heavy attack should be working really well when the weather turns at Lambeau Field.
Lynch is under contract through 2012, but it's possible that the sixth year of his rookie deal voids.
Heck I'd take both Leon Washington and Forsett over what the Packers have at this point and now they have Lynch. Jones is probably done.
A 4th rounder...man
A 4th rounder...man
Lynch will run real good behing Breno and Barbre.
if TT doesn't get Deangelo williams this will look really bad.
I support him almost all the time but this one has me scratching my head.
a 4th?????????

I like TT, but man it would be nice if he had a little Ron Wolf in him.
Wolf was great at adding talented castoffs. Rison, Sean Jones, etc.
I do feel as if he dropped the ball on this one.

Interesting that the team to acquire Lynch was the Seahawks. The general manager under coach Pete Carroll is former long-time Thompson aide John Schneider.
With the Packers, part of Schneider's duties was to find and work on potential trades. He would work on deals, similar to the Lynch trade, and then submit them to Thompson. He then often passed.
It was a source of frustration for Schneider, according to a column by Bob McGinn earlier this season (Insider subscribers only). Here's a snippet: Schneider remained the same well-compensated employee whether his recommendations were acted upon or not. But, as with most walks of life, when a lot of work basically never reaches fruition, a level of disappointment is sure to follow.

If that was all it took to get Lynch, I'd say TT missed it here.
John Schneider is making a lot of moves in Seattle, probably a lot of pent up frustration after years of watching Thompson NOT pull the trigger.

No, a "fourth-round pick in 2011 and a conditional pick in 2012"
Two picks....second pick TBD

This.
Have to admit if GB was offered essentially the same deal I don't why they don't make the move.
Then again there's a good reason Im not the GM of this team.
A 4th.
A conditional 2012.
I know Lynch is a stupid moment away from suspension, but you can't tell me he wouldn't have immediately helped the team.

A 4th sounds like a no-brainer, but anything higher than that gets iffy. And nobody on here knows for a fact that TT had the option to match Seattle's offer. Even if it came down to both teams offering 4ths, who would you bet will be drafting higher?
Everyone is focussing on the 4th round pick (which may not be much worse than a GB 3rd), but what about the "conditional pick" the next year? I'd like to know the range on that one.
And there is still all this time until the deadline and this is what Buffalo accepts? Stupidity in upstate New York and stubbornness to the point of stupidity in Green Bay.
Relax everybody.... we have a completely unproven guy coming off the PUP in a couple weeks. Seriously, maybe TT has something else cooking? Either that, or he must feel pretty good about Nance?
He better have a good reason, for not making this deal. And if the running game keeps on being bad, The press and the fans are going to roast him.
Of course, the Bills may have demanded more from Green Bay thinking the draft picks would be later.

I hope that is the case because this news disappoints me.
Maybe Schneider flips one of the hags extra backs our way ??? (please)
I hear Jones is being released. He's nothing. Worse than Kuhn or B-Jax
Damn, this sucks. i was really hoping the pack would get lynch. But as people have said, the Seahawks will likely pick in the top 12 picks each round while the Packers will likely pick in the bottom ten. This, a 4th and a conditional pick (I'm assuming that will be a 3rd or 4th) from the Seahawks would likely have to be a 3rd and a conditional 3rd or 4th in 2012. At that point the deal becomes a little more iffy.
Still, i was really hoping TT would pull the trigger on this deal. Lynch would look much better than Jackson right now, with Kuhn playing the same role he has the last 2 games.

This is probably wishful thinking considering how tight lipped GMs are, but I do hope we get some commentary from Thompson regarding if he was in serious talks with Buff, and why it didn't pan out? Will also be nice to find out the details on the 2012 conditional pick.
I guess I'll call in to cancel NFL Sunday Ticket now that the season is over.
sorry but a team thinking SB shouldn't let a 3rd round pick let it get in the way of a player they would have selected in the 1st round a few years ago.
the conditional pick can't be much higher than a 4th. hopefully we find out all the details.
