So disappointing - mlf takes the blame on this too itβs his coach in there absolute horse shit
@Herschel posted:Except they gave up the game-winning drive and didn't get the turnovers on the opportunities they were given. They are not excused in this mess.
The Niners never got past the 9 yard line the whole game.
I am so fucking pissed at the Packers continued special teams ineptitude.
This is bigger than Maurice Drayton's coaching, it has to include roster construction and drafting to at least build a unit that isn't a huge gaping liability.
It didn't have to end like this, but it is hardly shocking that it did.
Did I mention that I"m fucking pissed?

Wowβ¦.
@Herschel posted:With Turner at LT, things were going to get shitty for the offense and the other two units will collapse if they have to win the game.
Can't blame Gutey for the decision to go with Bakh over Linsley, but that decision cost them big time. Linsley was a Pro Bowl center and Bakh played 23 snaps and hasn't played a post-season snap the last two years.
Ketchman used to say you get what you emphasize. They have been drafting D heavy for 10 years while the O has come up short the last 2 years in the playoffs.
10 men on the field for the game winning FG.
After a timeout.
Honestly, you couldn't ask for a more perfect distillation of the Green Bay Packers.
Turner didn't have nearly the problems tonight as Kelly and Patrick did
@michiganjoe posted:Only ten on the field for the winning kick. What a disaster.
That would be hilarious if it werenβt so incredibly sad.
@da Yooper posted:Dumbest post of the day! Defense gave up 6 (yes six) points and gave up ZERO TDS. The ST sucked badly. The offense had 58 yards (look at that number closely) in the second half with far too many 3 and outs AND only scored 10 points, AT HOME, in the cold, to a team from California in 0 degree weather. WTF are you sniffing?
Game-winning drive given up, period. That doesn't excuse the Special Teams fuckups or the offense struggling once again with Billy fucking Turner at Left Tackle, but the defense had a chance to at least force overtime and flat-out failed.
Boy howdy is this gonna be an off-season for the ages.
Weβll have to see what the off-season holds, but itβs hard to justify a high dollar contracts for AR and Jennings. For the last 10+ years, it hasnβt benefited the team in the post season at all. Itβs about winning championships. Itβs also hard to justify keeping Murphy on board. Heβs done nothing to help the team win, and in fact, has hindered it. The board needs to fire his ass and start over. And, they need to make it so the team President has no say in personnel. Get rid of Balllz, heβs too power hungry and has no credentials to be the GM he so desperately wants to be. Get a decent QB who can lead the team until the Packers can get a real QB either through draft or free agency. Love can compete for that job. Invest the money in defense and WR and TE. At least that way, we shouldnβt completely suck. The 49ers have used that formula to go to the NFC championship.
GBβ¦..the team everyone wants to see in the playoffs.
And thatβs sad.
Joe Burrow gonna win it all.
If offense is moving the ball, ST doesn't have the chance to screw it up with punts and fgs
Should be good AFC game tomorrow.
12 wanted to be drafted by the 9ersβ¦β¦.and his record against the 9ers is 0 -4. Hmmmmmmmm.
Holding the ball too long to try and force feed it to Adams didn't work. It didn't work this year and it didn't work last year in the NFCCG. I get it, Adams is the best WR in the league but just...
I didn't think I'd see a worse ST showing than I did tonight either, but at least that shit was somewhat expected.
To blame the defense for this epic failure is fucking stupid. Rodgers shit the bed on the last drive forcing it to Adams. Lafluer shit the bed by playing prevent offense after the Lewis fumble. The special teams fucked the dog letting a field goal and a punt get blocked.
Turner is a RT after all. And a good one. Nijman more than held his own at LT.
Stupid is as stupid does.

Easy to say, but when you trot out a bunch of UDFA that cannot get open, he really has no options.
But, again, in 2020, when given the opportunity to draft help in the most WR draft in ages, they drafted the 6th best QB in the Mountain West conference and a TE that was projected to be there 3 rounds later.
If Rodgers walks, sign Russell wilson and keep Adams

Murphy isn't going anywhere. It's a fucking permanent position until retirement.
I say blow it up but you still have the same fucks controlling all the capital they'd get from Rodgers, etc. Glop isn't a real GM. He doesn't have that power. Does anyone feel good about a rebuild with Murphy and Ball involved in the equation on personnel and coaching?

And yet the defense had a chance to be the winning unit and failed. Letting the defense off the hook is Vikings fans "But we lost most games by single digits" bullshit. The game was on the line, and instead of being the unit that gave them the chance to win late they failed.

I would love it if that actually happened.... but it won't.
If Drayton isnβt the first person to hit the road on the Packers, I will have lost a lot of respect for MLF. What a ducking embarrassment. Heβs perhaps even more infamous than Bostick, and I didnβt believe that was possible. He needs to GTFO and never show his face again.
Cue the 1970s and 1980s?
Thatβs the thing Iβm all out of excuses for Rodgers
Last year and this year everything was lined up for them and they shit the bed. He was right in the middle of the circle jerk.

You mean like having a QB with three INTs and still going on to win the Super Bowl?
I cut the defense more slack because they were obviously gassed but you either win tooth, claw and nail or you don't.
They didn't.

I don't believe for a second that having the 11th man out there changes anything on that play.
But I'll be damned if it doesn't sum up Drayton to a tee. Unorganized, incompetent, and a clown show.

Exactly what I said when Thompson stepped down and they announced the new arrangement
One SB appearance in the last 20+ seasons with Favre and Rodgers. Futility personified.
@tsr86free posted:Cue the 1970s and 1980s?
At least for awhile. The real question is if the leadership can get the Packers out.
Blow it up. Rodgers looked old tonight, like Favre in 2007. He was off on so many throws, like he just wanted to get off the field. Take away the 70 yard catch and run by Jones and his stats are mediocre. He was constantly locked in on Adams. Take what you can get for him in trade, tag and trade Adams, lock up Jaire and Campbell and go from there.
@vitaflo posted:Not this shit again.
Why not this shit again? This could be a bigger blunder than not drafting you know Watt and people sure as hell wonβt let that rest

I donβt. As long as those two are in charge, and the board lacks the balls to make a change, Iβm afraid weβre in for some bad times ahead. Unless the stockholders rise up and demand a change, boycott games and refuse to buy tickets, the dumb rich fucks at the table could care less. Have to hit them where it hurts.
