No one in the NFL has done more for diversity than Bruce Arians.

That Arians was smart enough to make Todd Bowles his DC is to his credit.

But no NFL coach (and no NFL team) is currently coaching higher-profile woman beaters in Antonio Brown and Richard Sherman than Bruce Arians. Not even close.

So pin a rose on Arians when he gets elevated to the Bucs sanctimony hall of fame for "diversity" as long as diversity does not include the 50+% of the population that the likes of Brown and Sherman feel entitled to beat the hell out of.

Still the induction ceremony would be worth a watch if ol' Brucey let Brown give his induction speech and Antonio told us all how Bruce was his all-time favorite cracker ... behind Tom Brady of course.

White grievance and victimhood resonates with a lot of people (Trump got over 74 million votes).

Which is precisely why I was talking about Asian discrimination?

The subtle racism of diminished expectations of behavior and achievement for some classes resonates with a lot of woke white people.

Right or wrong, someone has to be the sacrificial cow and Gruden is it. He's the warning to everyone else to delete those emails, shut your mouth, clean up your act, don't tarnish the shield with younger people, and move into the 21st century.

Harvard case cited in this thread (admission policy has been upheld in lower courts and currently pending before USSC) was brought by conservative activist Ed Blum to eliminate all race-based admission policies. Asian-Americans are just a convenient means to an end and it's pretty silly to attempt to frame the case as a noble defense on their behalf.

I didn’t cite Harvard…let’s move on, shall we?

Did white conservatives complain in this case? My point is this shit is happening all over. Every time one of you folks wants to refute it, I’ll go find another example…I have a lot of free time.

RESEARCH WAR!!!

I have so many comments that will piss everyone off so I'll just refrain and sip my coffee with a dash of cream because only heathens would drink it anyway else.  The subtle undertones of butter fat swirling in the inky abyss of caffeinated joy, truly the superior choice for the most discerning of people.

No comparisons at all. I’m just focusing on the bullshit denial that there isn’t systemic racism against Asians at this point in our society.

What's ironic about all of this is that Al Davis was by far the most progressive owner in the league in his time (and likely in the NFL's history), hiring the first female executive in NFL history - Amy Trask - and hiring just the second African American head coach in NFL history - Art Shell.  Trask was CEO of the Raiders from 1997-2013 and have to imagine she's one of only a handful of females ever to serve at that level.  I recommend taking a look through her twitter feed to learn more about Davis.  And even though Shell was technically the second African American head coach, he was the first since Fritz Pollard in the 20's.  It was a huge step for minority coaches.

For all his quirks and mistakes, Al Davis was pointing the league in the right direction on these issues.  He would have fired Gruden on the spot.

@Hank …And the genesis of my comments if you look back is me bringing up “Things we can’t talk about.” and that was simply a starting point. We can move onto gender identity in adolescents or the murder rate amongst blacks if you like, but I’m pretty sure those would turn political and violate X4 guidelines.

If I drink too much coffee does that mean I'm woke?

Honestly, I'm just poking you at this point.

The perceived victimhood is definitely part of it, but also just wanting to be a part of something bigger than themselves, for better or worse. It's basically like being a diehard sports fan for a particular team.

There's a lot of dimensions to it.  Simple fact is there was a sizable chunk of people who would've voted for Bernie if he won the nomination.  Instead they voted for Trump.  There's more to the dreaded populism than white grievance and a lot of it is the loss of hope directly related to Clintonites turning their backs on blue collar workers and actively destroying the manufacturing segment in the U.S. with horrible trade deals (just for starters).

With that stated, Chris Hedges, who teaches in the New Jersey prison system, relayed a story from his black students.  Black men don't have a mid-life crisis because they lose hope at an early age.  This is what white lower/middle class people are going through and they don't know how to handle it because they always believed in the "American Dream".  So you get all the negative things that come from lack of hope.

One of the biggest reasons I loathe neo-liberal Clintonites is the segmenting of a whole of the issues, particularly economics, facing all poor and now middle class people to churn votes on identity politics.  They protected their masters who write the checks by creating more division.

It's worse because it's not even hidden.   Just a wide open fuck you, there are too many Asians on our campus already.

All of which is why I isolate myself from the realties of the world and sit at the dog park with Minnie listening to the old people talk about their upcoming surgeries.355B61FF-295A-40C4-BC89-44C3830A6F54

On a side note, UWRF, also known as Moo U and/or Silo Tech, now has a substantial exchange program with Japanese and Korean students.  They're also building a nice East Asian cultural center as well as a Japanese language program, which is unique at a school like UWRF.

Kind of makes me giggle thinking about the culture shock on both sides.

I'm going to open an izakaya in downtown River Falls.

You have to build systems that incentivize communication between the exchange students and the rest of campus. They probably are, but if you don't, you risk what happened in Wausau with the Hmong population.

Welp, looks like this can of worms is starting to burst at the seams;

So Schefter is leaking his "report" to Allen to make sure it's OK and doesn't upset him AND tells him he can tweak it if Allen doesn't like it.

Try a slab of butter instead of cream. My daughter does this and says it's the best.

This helps explain a lot. So now that we’ve got my brother-in-laws pegged, can we find a study or educated reasoning to explain my father and mother-in-law? Otherwise I can still fall back on the “Minnesota” card, which is also fine by me.
