Philly would be crazy to trade up from #20 to top 5 for Mariotta.  There are as many question marks on Mariotta as there is on a top 5 QB and you do not trade up unless it's for a sure thing (ie: you don't trade up).  Big time trade ups gone bad will set a team back 3+ years.  Just look at Washington.  They have major holes in their secondary, front 7 and o-line and they still don't have a QB.  It'll take another 2-3 years to stack that team with talent, talent they gave away to St Louis for RGIII.

I don't know if Philly not trading up for MM is an indicator of what he thinks necessarily. They may love Mariotta, but the price to move up is too steep. Washington got burned so badly on the RG3 deal that I bet teams are leary of giving up that much for one player, even if they know him really well. Philly might be better off hoping Jameis Winston falls or just taking UCLA QB Brett Hundley in R2.

"After practice I spoke with NFL Network’s Charles Davis about some of the player’s that have impressed him so far at the Senior Bowl.

Two of the players he mentioned were Duke offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson and Wisconsin’s Rob Havenstein.

Much more was learned about these players today as the pads were on and they worked through one-on-one drills featuring the defensive line against the offensive line. Both of these players impressed in that drill as they demonstrated the functional strength to absorb a pass rusher’s bull rush and protect the pocket."

Tomlinson and Havenstein have really impressed scouts with their technical skills and awareness this week. Each player has shined in drills, despite facing some of the toughest run stoppers and pass rushers in the country. Part of their success can be attributed to their solid understanding of their respective games, which allows them to minimize their weaknesses by using clever tricks at the point of attack.

Havenstein has shown exceptional savvy and awareness neutralizing rushers off the edge. He does a great job of protecting his inside, yet displays the quickness and length to force rushers to take a wide angle around the corner. With Havenstein exhibiting sound technique and poise at right tackle, the former Badger has certainly helped his cause at the Senior Bowl.

FWIW (not much ):

Disappointedat te way season ended but will stillbe watching and hooping for wins in 015.  After enduring all the LEAN years, 2014 was a great year for watching GB.   Only 2 teams make it to the SB every year.  If that was what it was all about why do they televise all the other games??   Because as a Packer fan for over 70 years, I will always be a Packer fan as long as I am alive!!!!

@JasonLaCanfora: Alex Van Pelt was coveted coach this year - and will be again next year I figure. Packers blocked CHI, JAX and STL from interviewing for OC.

Complicated problem for MM. Rodgers is very close to Clements. AVP goes way back with MM and has done a great job with 12 as well. Tough to keep blocking a guy year after year without some hint of advancement coming.

I apologize. It's almost been a week and I can't move on. Haven't watched any sports, turn my head when ESPN is on anywhere. I find myself succumb by moments of depression followed by a loss of breath, like someone punched me  in the heart. Truth be told, I'm heartbroken. Ive equated it to breaking up with a high school sweetheart. I'm kind of pissed at the Packers now. Eff them. They did this. I've had all the perspective in the world this week. I have a great family, and a lot to be thankful for. McCarthy's brother passing gave me perspective. Maybe things happen for a reason. MM having to balance his family for preparing his team for the world's biggest spectacle would be gut wrenching. I really feel horrible for him. But I still can't advance. I'm stuck in a rut. I made the mistake of turning my brother's tv on to find out it was on the NFL Network replaying the Patriots/Seahawks game
from this year. **** me, it should have been the Packers/Patriots game they were showing. I was even drunk for the game on Sunday, and I don't easily remember all the minute game changing plays as readily as most. But they creep into my conscious throughout the week. The 2 pt conversion "Haily Mary" , yelling at my neighbor's kid after he said "no one can get a 3rd and 19."  I remember Seattle taking their first lead and having complete confidence that GB would tie or take the lead. But I still didn't see the game ending in a loss. And this is from someone that didn't think the Packers had a chance going into the game. I thought Seattle would dominate like they did in Week 1 and the Pack would be overmatched like they were against SF the past 2 years. I heard LeRoy Butler say the week going in that this game reminded him like the 1995 game when GB shocked the world and won in the playoffs in SF. This gave me hope and put me on an optimistic turn leading to Sunday. But I regress. Maybe losing to SF in the playoffs on the TO catch hurt this bad. So did 4th and 26. I fully expected the Packers to destroy the Giants in 2007 when I was a Favre ballwasher. That hurt, but I remember being fine come the Super Bowl. It must have sucked ass when New England lost the perfect season vs the Giants or when SF crapped the bed in the NFCCG against NY at home (same year?) I don't know. I know I'll recover, but the point of all this is that I haven't moved on. I know I've said enough, yet I feel like I could say so much more. Thank God I have X4 and a place to vent.

I was - am moving on.   Then  caught NFL turning point.

Jesus **** would rather poke my eyes out.

Most games you can point two one maybe two plays and think of what could have been.   Here it was a perfect cocktail of cluster****.  No way to write that ****ty of a script in Hollywood.

Probably as bad as anything the seachickens are a bunch of trash talking chumps.

Makes me wanta scream!

The only and I mean only saving grace of that game that could have made it worse.   Could you imagine if that mess happened in the actual superbowl

It took about 24 hours for me to feel better about the loss but it still sucks.   Everytime I see a Super Bowl ad or promo I think it should be the Packers and not Seattle featured.  Oh well

I am hopeful that 2015 goes like 1995 did for this team.  That year GB played Dallas tough only to lose late and missed a golden opportunity to make and win the Super Bowl but came back motivated the following year and dominated in wire to wire fashion.

The saddest thing about this loss was that this may have been the healthiest Packers team I can remember in the past decade.  If lady luck can be so kind again in 2015, the Pack will be in the thick of things again.

That said, 3 core players are no spring chickens anymore and we'll have to hope they can stay in one piece.  Rodgers body is starting to slowly betray him as he approaches age 32 this coming season.  We have to hope we see a 100% Rodgers more than he has been the past 2 years.  Julius Peppers was tremendous, but is at an age where an injury or fall off can happen in the blink of an eye.  Clay Matthews isn't old, but he does have a body made of glass.  Are we going to be as lucky next year with Matthews relatively good health this year?

This team enters next season a top 5 team most likely.  Some continued good health, roster and coaching tweaks, and maybe they can erase the stink of the Seahawks debacle.
