That said, 3 core players are no spring chickens anymore and we'll have to hope they can stay in one piece.  Rodgers body is starting to slowly betray him as he approaches age 32 this coming season.  We have to hope we see a 100% Rodgers more than he has been the past 2 years.  Julius Peppers was tremendous, but is at an age where an injury or fall off can happen in the blink of an eye.  Clay Matthews isn't old, but he does have a body made of glass.  Are we going to be as lucky next year with Matthews relatively good health this year?

This team enters next season a top 5 team most likely.  Some continued good health, roster and coaching tweaks, and maybe they can erase the stink of the Seahawks debacle.

This. AND we dominated them, with the exception of the red zone play, for 55 minutes....

Yeah, but ESPN gave Simona Halep a giant middle finger by not showing her night-session match because the first match went long and she doesn't have "sizzle" apparently.

Saddly, those girls are long gone now.

Hmmm.

@TyDunne: #Packers sign punter Cody Mandell. Spent last off-season with the Cowboys. Out of Alabama, was first team all-SEC. A Tavecchio-like signing?

Does a new ST coach come with him?

Bio (from Wikipedia so you know its true):

Mandell attended Acadiana High School and was recruited to Alabama to walk-on the team as a punter. During his career with the Crimson Tide, Mandell started all four years and was a member of both the 2011 and 2012 national championship teams. During his four years at Alabama, he increased his punting average from 39.2 yards as a freshman to 47.1 yards by his senior year.[1]

After his senior year at Alabama, Mandell was selected to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine as one of the top punters in the 2014 draft class.[2] Mandell went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, but was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys after the draft.[3] Mandell was released on August 12, 2014.

Wow, why did I quit watching women's tennis again?

The health of this team was one of the big things that is so hard to take about that game.  For the first season in what felt like forever the Packers weren't devastated by injuries.  I am glad I am not the only one who hasn't even turned on ESPN for over a week (not that I watch those buffoons much but that is a different topic) I just can't bear the fact that this smack talking diarrhea of the mouth Seahawks and their fans are in that game. Hey they made the plays and we didn't but it still stings bad.

But going forward I know that TT has this team in good shape.  The cap situation is manageable, the roster for the most part is very young, and I trust his drafting.  In ROTTT I trust.

@Justin_Felder: #Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will hold his season-ending press conference tomorrow at 1 pm, team announces.

EDIT:

@TyDunne: No #Packers assistants or coordinators are scheduled to talk.

Change from previous plan for last week, in which MM plus Dom, Clements, and Slocum were supposed to speak and field questions.

I realize the Pack snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for a Superbowl.

But, we did'nt want no stinking XLIX anyway. I mean really, say XLIX out loud a few times. The much preferred game is next years L. Thats the one I want. We won the 1st two, how sweet would it be to win the 50th. Now thats tradition.

Perhaps it was fate after all that we lost against the hags. I cant imagine the team and MM's psyche trying to prepare for a Super Bowl after the loss of MM's brother. The media and all the other attention would have been brutal. Had MM stayed to coach/prepare the team instead of being home comforting family during that time of need would have been criticized harshly. Ditto, if he had went home for the showing and funeral there would also have been criticism from some. It would have been a no win situation, damned if you do and damned if you dont. Then the players, MM and other coaches minds and hearts would have been grieving regardless of how it went. As I recall the team did not fare well for the game after Philbin lost his son. And I suspect the same would have occurred this time had the Pack won. Fate sometimes works in mysterious ways, IMHO, JMO.

So, I'm on to seeing the Pack win it all next year for a historically significant game.
