Whenever the Packers have been in this position they always seem to fuck it up.

Remember week #17 vs. Jets? Playing for a bye in 2004, got crushed in NY. Lost to Vikings in WC round of playoffs.

Early 90's - Blow the last game of season vs. Detroit then have to go back to Detroit & Favre saves the day to Sterling with under a minute in the 4th Quarter playoff game.

It seems like when I go back through history the Packers always blow these opportunities when they are playing for a bye but have already clinched a playoff berth.

So what you are saying is we need Favre back because he's due to win one of these games?

I had a perverse thought. I would love for the refs to β€œgift” our team a few calls at critical times. It would blow the tops off the tiny brains of fans of Minnesota. Oh the Humanity!

I thought the same thing! It would be great to win, but would be even greater to win with a controversial call that went our way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't even have to be controversial. Just have any call go our way in a close game with less than 5 minutes left.

I don't want a controversial call.  What is perfect in my world?  Cousins drives them down to inside the Packers 10 yard line.  Cousins throws a pass outside and it is taken back for a pick 6.  I would be on youtube the next morning looking at Vikings fans smashing things after they have their hearts ripped out again.

Ahhh yes a guy can dream.  And a guy also do this  the spermheads!

I just want to mention the Vikings are not guaranteed the playoffs yet. What do Vikings do best?? Choke!

If the Rams lose to SF, Vikings are in & basically have nothing to play for on Monday night unless you think the Packers are going to lose to Jeff Driskel or some other scrub from the Lie-Downs when they have Chase Young staring them in the face next April. Sometimes weird shit happens though.....but I digress.

Going to be interesting to see if the Vikings come out strong at start of the game or their usual slow start.

Vikings blow out Packers? Packers blow out Vikings? Probably neither unless the SF Packers show up.

Will Anthony Barr try to injure Rodgers again?

One streak is going bye-bye. Packers can't win there & Cousins can't win on Monday Night. Who wants it more? We'll find out in 5 days.

While I want to say eff the Vikings and their mother effin fans and leave it at that, it’s not that simple and irresponsible on my part. Those who share my hatred on this fan base have been accurate on their assessments previously posted here. For those of us who have lived in the state and were not born there the fact is, and cannot be argued, that not just their fan base, but the overall born and bred population is the most passive aggressive bunch of people I have ever met. This supersedes football. It translates to everyday life. While the city of Minneapolis itself is diverse, I have never seen such a segregated area then Hennepin County, and I was born and have lived in Milwaukee County. If I see another shopping complex with a Target, Dicks Sporting Goods, Chipotle, and Cub Foods I might not want to fight another day.

Like Boris stated, winning can conceivably keep MN out of the playoffs, pending the Rams game. The Rams beating SF helps us obviously in two ways. It keeps us with SF in the standings and sets MN to miss the post season pending our game and the Bear game. I personally think MN loses to the Bears because recent history has shown they match up horribly with this current Chicago team.
Because the term β€œsignature win” has become commonplace, I’ll use it here as well and say that if Green Bay wins it will far and away supersede any win this season including the two Chicago games, one which set the tone for the season on the road, and the other which was a must win in my mind to win the division.
In short (or long) please destroy MN. No last second heroics. No controversial ref calls, No β€œpay back” game. Just beat their ass in all facets of the game and show why we are the better team this year and moving forward. Set that momentum heading into the post season. It will go a long way in defining how we remember this particular team.

I agree that a Prince was the best thing to come out of Minneapolis, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we find out someday that he was actually born in Racine.

Which means our only significant victory is the Chiefs, and two of our three losses are teams on the above list?

Cousins being snubbed from the Pro Bowl in favor of Rodgers is going to give him some fuel for his first Monday night potential win.

Rodgers will be even more motivated when he realizes he's no longer elite after reading this board and all the bandwagon media outlets.

That chip will be so big we may never lose again.

But then you'd have half the board whining about the Packers not being up by 14 points and how the team is a complete failure.

He’s still elite, he hasn’t performed well as of late, but when you have 1.5 receivers to throw to with any confidence of them catching it, stats start to suffer.
