So guessing no Bakh this week? I'd be shocked if he plays week 1 on that surface. Same goes with Jenkins, but he also had no setbacks and from everything I've read he has recovered beautifully. So maybe they play him.

Sounds like Tonyan and Crosby are all good to go.

@TomSilverstein: Asked if David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins would be starting against the #Vikings Sunday, he [LaFleur] went to his go-to: "You'll have to wait until Sunday." He did say Bakhtiari probably will do team drills today [his first this season].

When GB made final cuts - I thought it was kinda strange that AR told the media that even though Winfree was released, he would be back AND activated for the vikes game.

They don't need 8 WRs for the game, so maybe that means Lazard is out. Rodgers has been pimping Sammy too. They also kept Lazard Lite, Travis Fulgham on the PS

from last week, Rodgers on the WRs

“We’ve got to play our best 11 ... We can’t wait around (on the rookie receivers) once the season starts,” Rodgers explained last week before players had four days off for the long Labor Day weekend.

“We’ll work these guys in in spots where they feel most comfortable, but the way that Sammy plays, he deserves to be in the first group in. The way Cobby’s played in camp, he deserves to be in the first group in. And the way Allen’s played when he’s healthy, he deserves to be in the first group. "

When did Lazard get injured?

Last week apparently. but MLF said he's improving so it doesn't sound all that serious. Not unlike other NFL coaches though, MLF gives as little details as possible when it comes to injuries/updates.

From Rob Demovsky:

Green Bay Packers LT David Bakhtiari says he's on track to start opener vs. Minnesota Vikings

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- David Bakhtiari, the Green Bay Packers' All-Pro left tackle who has played only part of one game since he suffered a serious knee injury more than 20 months ago, said he believes he is on track to start in Sunday's regular-season opener at the Minnesota Vikings.

Bakhtiari on Monday participated in 11-on-11 drills, something he said he's been doing for several practices since training camp ended. After Monday's practice, he told ESPN he believes it's realistic to expect him to start against the Vikings.

"Yeah, I mean, I'm on the active [roster] just like anyone else," Bakhtiari said.

Bakhtiari missed all of this year's offseason practices and was not activated off the physically unable to perform list until late in training camp. Last season, he returned briefly but experienced complications and was shut down for the playoffs. This offseason he underwent a third knee surgery, which was his third since the initial tear of his left ACL on Dec. 31, 2020.

He was on a snap count during last year's return, playing just 27 plays in the regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions. When asked if he could get through a full game on Sunday, he took it step further.

"I can get through the season," Bakhtiari said. "It's going to be fine. You have to just manage while playing.

"I'm just getting back in the swing of things. So, I mean, I think there's normal rust and then new normal with three surgeries, so just kind of working that out and figuring out what my routine is."

Bakhtiari's apparent return settles the left tackle spot and leaves Elgton Jenkins as the only question on the offensive line. Jenkins, who tore his left ACL last November at Minnesota, also is on the active roster after spending much of training camp on the PUP.

A Pro Bowl left guard in 2020, Jenkins suffered his knee injury while filling in for Bakhtiari at left tackle. He will likely move to right tackle upon his return, but coach Matt LaFleur sounded vague about Jenkins' status on Monday.

"We'll have to find out on Sunday," LaFleur said.… “

I hope there is a lot of Green and Gold, in their stands, at US Bank Stadium, just to show their new coach where the bear shits!

This story is a few weeks old but I really enjoy it when the home teams coach has to plead for their fans to make noise.  I do hope that we invade that stadium well and I will be one of them. And  the Spermheads!

I hope we wipe the floor with 55.  he's magically got a chip on his shoulder, somehow - bc he didn't play all last year and got paid for it...and somehow, this was GB's fault...ok fine, rtfb right up at him when pettine lines him up the middle, i hope 74 wipes the floor with him.

Is Minnesota playing him at ILB?  If he's on the outside, attack the edge - he could never set it.

He definitely has an attitude. Rumors were that he did in GB as well and that’s why he wasn’t voted as a captain by his peers last year. F that guy.

I don’t  believe so but they may play him inside on the DL in passing situations like we did at times.

Silverstein out with a piece today (paywalled) about how excited and eager Za'Darius is for the matchup. My guess is MLF has something cooked up to pretty well limit his effectiveness (patchwork OL could make it more difficult). Quote from the article:

“I’m very excited, I can’t wait,” he said. “I’ve been preparing for this time for a while now, so it’s finally here. And I’m ready.”
